’What kind of love rival? Justin Sullivan doesn’t even count!’

Seeing Georgia Thorne get lost in her wild imagination, Elliot Sheridan almost couldn’t catch his breath. "Throw all of those thoughts out of your head."

Georgia stared at him, shocked. ’How does he know what I’m thinking!’

Elliot sat down and told her everything that had happened in the past, from beginning to end.

After hearing it all, Georgia felt even more depressed.

So, she was the one who approached Elliot first, and he had even rejected her for being too young.

Aside from the half-year she was away from Akashima, they had been together for five years since she turned eighteen.

Georgia’s jaw dropped in astonishment. "Are you saying that during those years I was with you, I fell in love with you?"

Elliot shot her a cold glance. "What do you think?"

"Then what about Justin Sullivan?" Georgia asked again.

At the mention of Justin Sullivan, Elliot’s tone turned icy. "Back then, Justin Sullivan was Selena’s boyfriend. They were at the point of discussing marriage, but he had a change of heart and got engaged to a woman from a powerful family."

"How is that possible!" Georgia couldn’t help but defend Justin Sullivan. "Jean could never be that kind of person!"

"If he’s not that kind of person, then why don’t you tell me what kind of person he is?" Elliot asked through gritted teeth, his voice low.

"..." Sensing the danger in his tone, Georgia immediately forced a dry laugh.

It seemed Justin Sullivan was a topic that couldn’t be brought up.

"Many things are changing, especially some people. They’ve changed to a degree you can’t even imagine. Justin Sullivan has never been a good person."

Georgia lowered her head and mumbled, "No, he’s not!"

’If even Justin Sullivan isn’t a good person, then this world is almost full of bad people.’

"What did you say?"

"Nothing!"

Georgia quickly denied it, shaking her head like a rattle.

Elliot snorted and deleted the text messages from Justin Sullivan one by one.

He had heard her mumbling very clearly.

With her amnesia, not only had Georgia completely forgotten him, but more importantly, the Georgia of this age didn’t know who Elliot Sheridan was, yet she remembered Justin Sullivan’s kindness to her.

Worse yet, given Georgia’s current state of mind, she was quite fond of Justin Sullivan.

The mere thought of Georgia having feelings for Justin Sullivan drove him crazy.

But it was a craziness he couldn’t show in front of her.

Georgia picked up her phone, wanting to read Justin Sullivan’s text again, only to find that someone had already deleted it.

She hadn’t even gotten a single look.

Georgia looked up at the man working on the sofa, wondering what wire had been crossed in his head.

That night, Georgia went to bed as usual. Just as she pulled the covers up, the man emerged from the bathroom and walked toward her.

He lifted the covers, and a draft of cold air rushed in. Georgia’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly clutched her blanket. "What do you think you’re doing!"

"Sleeping!" Elliot reached out and turned off the light, plunging the room into darkness.

"Um, are you going to sleep with me?" Georgia clutched the covers awkwardly, hogging the bed in a clear attempt to keep him from getting on.

The bed was big, sure, but she wasn’t used to sleeping with someone else, especially a man, and especially Elliot Sheridan.

"Um, you were sleeping on the sofa the last two days, so tonight you just..." ’Can’t you just make do on the sofa for one more night!’

"Georgia, we’re husband and wife. It’s the most natural thing in the world for us to sleep in the same bed," Elliot said, his voice softening as he noticed her tension. "Besides, that sofa is very small and uncomfortable to sleep on."

That was true.

Georgia had noticed his eyes were bloodshot the past two days.

"But..."

Before Georgia could protest further, Elliot forcefully grabbed the edge of the blanket, lifted it, and squeezed onto the bed.

Georgia instinctively scrambled to the other side, putting as much distance as possible between herself and Elliot’s body.

"Why are you so far away from me!"

"I... ah..."

"You’re a restless sleeper. If I’m not holding you, you’ll roll off the bed in the middle of the night."

Before Georgia could think of an excuse, the man’s long arm hooked around her, pulling her back into his embrace.

’What does he mean I’m a restless sleeper!’

’He shouldn’t just make things up because I can’t remember!’

She had wanted to stay far away from him, but now their bodies were pressed tightly together.

Georgia was on the verge of a breakdown. She fidgeted restlessly under the covers, secretly trying to push Elliot away, secretly trying to shift her body.

It was useless.

Although she had verbally acknowledged her marriage to Elliot, she had yet to accept him psychologically or physically.

Elliot was pushing her, forcing her to accept him quickly.

He thought he had plenty of time, but after discovering the place Justin Sullivan held in her heart today, he had become anxious again.

The doctor had said that this kind of memory loss could be short-term, returning in a week or a month, or it could be long-term, lasting a lifetime.

He feared it was the latter.

After a few more days in the hospital, two people from her company came to visit her.

One was named Nathan Rhodes, and the other was Vivian Sawyer.

Nathan was her team leader, and Vivian was her assistant. Elliot had whispered this information in her ear as they entered.

It seemed he didn’t want others to know about her amnesia.

"How are you feeling? Are you any better?"

"Much better!" Georgia was very reserved with Nathan. For her, this was the first time meeting him, yet she had to act like they were old friends.

Fortunately, Nathan didn’t seem to notice her awkwardness. "That’s good to hear!"

Nathan seemed to be a friend of Elliot’s. The two men greeted each other naturally. Georgia kept glancing out the window, where Nathan was now talking with Elliot.

They looked like they were having some sort of disagreement; both of their faces were grim.

"Miss Thorne, did you hear what I said?" Vivian Sawyer waved a hand in front of her face, her eyes wide as she looked at her.

Georgia hummed. "What did you say?"

"It’s about Miss Summers’s case. The team leader heard you were sick and wanted to hand your case over to someone else."

"There’s no need. I should be discharged around this Saturday." Based on her current condition, getting discharged this Saturday wouldn’t be a problem.

"Then you can come back to work next Monday! That’s great! I was so worried I’d be assigned as someone else’s assistant!" Vivian cheered.

Not knowing about Georgia’s amnesia, Vivian happily hugged her. "Miss Thorne, you have no idea. While you were in the hospital these past two days, I was assigned to that Laura Chase. She ordered me around all day. Oh, right, she got promoted too. She’s at the same level as you now."

Speaking of Laura Chase, Vivian was full of grievances. "You really are the best, Miss Thorne. You have no idea how smug that Laura Chase is now."

Georgia didn’t know who Laura Chase was and just gave a hollow laugh.

Outside, Nathan and Elliot’s conversation seemed to have ended, but only Elliot came back in.

"Where’s Miss Rhodes?" Vivian asked Elliot cautiously.

Even though he was Georgia’s husband, he was still a big shot. You had to be serious when the situation called for it.

"She had something urgent come up, so she left."

Vivian didn’t stay long. After a little while, she left.

The main reason was that the two of them were being too affectionate in front of her. Elliot was nothing like the cold, unapproachable man of legend.

She felt like she was being tortured by their sweetness.

After Vivian left, Georgia uncomfortably broke free from Elliot’s embrace. "Why did you suddenly get so clingy?"

She complained while glaring at Elliot. "By the way, what were you and Nathan talking about outside just now?"

"Want to know?" Elliot looked at her. Seeing Georgia nod, he added, "Kiss me, and I’ll tell you!"

Georgia was speechless.

She threw a punch right at his handsome face. "Get lost!"

Lately, this man had been constantly making indecent moves on her, and his verbal harassment was gradually turning physical.

"Did you know Nathan before? Were you two arguing?" Georgia’s imagination immediately ran wild, conjuring up all sorts of unbelievable scenarios.

"You don’t need to know about these things. Just focus on getting better."

"I’m already better!" At the mention of her injuries, Georgia immediately patted herself down to show that she was perfectly fine. Elliot snorted, his gaze sweeping over her body.

’Her physical injuries have indeed healed, but when will the injury in her head get better!’

Georgia was used to his snorts. She sidled up to him and said in a fawning tone, "So can I be discharged this Saturday?"

"No!"

"Why not!" Georgia yelped. "My injuries are healed! I want to leave the hospital!"

It was so boring staying in the hospital every day. Plus, he was always here watching her. Every time she made a move, his eyes would be on her, making her feel like a prisoner in jail.

"No reason!"

"Elliot, how can you bully me just because I have amnesia!"

"..."

The truth was, whether before or after her amnesia, Elliot could never resist Georgia’s coaxing. After she pestered him relentlessly for a while, he agreed to let her be discharged this Saturday.

"I have to go out for something tomorrow. You be good and stay in the hospital. Don’t wander around!"

That night, as they lay in bed together, Elliot tightened his arms around Georgia’s body and said.

"Where are you going?" Georgia was on the verge of sleep, her eyelids too heavy to open. She mumbled, turning over and rubbing her face against the man’s chest.

"Just some business. I’ll be back early."

"Mm."

Elliot wanted to say more, but he realized the person in his arms had already fallen quietly asleep.

He turned on his side, cupped her face, and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Good night."

Georgia slept very soundly. When she woke up, Elliot was already gone.
