Chapter 206 - 196: Can You Bear to Make Your Husband Suffer? (1)
"Georgia, come here, quick!" Selena Sheridan whispered, beckoning with her hand.
"What’s wrong?" Georgia Thorne was still trying to catch her breath, her face flushed scarlet from Elliot Sheridan’s teasing. She was terrified Selena would notice something was off.
In truth, Selena had her own problems to deal with; she was in no state to notice Georgia’s expression.
"Georgia, have you seen my Second Uncle?"
’Elliot Sheridan!’
Alarm bells immediately went off in Georgia’s head. Her eyes flew wide as saucers as she reflexively lied, shaking her head. "No!"
"Really?"
Georgia shook her head rapidly. Fearing Selena didn’t believe her, she repeated, "I didn’t see him!"
Selena didn’t believe her Second Uncle would have left so quickly. Her eyes swept across the living room, but she couldn’t find any sign of Elliot.
She frowned, muttering to herself in suspicion, ’Could he have really gone back?’
Georgia had just been in the shower. The water had been running so loudly she hadn’t heard what was happening outside.
No sooner had Georgia stepped into the shower than Elliot had shown up at the door.
Elliot’s purpose in coming was none other than to make Selena leave.
Selena refused, saying that home didn’t even feel like home anymore, so what was the point of going back.
For the first time, she had loudly defied Elliot, but the moment she met his icy gaze, she had immediately lost her nerve.
So she ran back into Georgia’s bedroom to hide.
"Hold on, I’m going to check downstairs!" Selena said to Georgia, turning and walking toward the window.
Seizing the opportunity, Georgia rushed to the bathroom door, yanked it open, and pulled at a grim-faced Elliot. "Come out, quick!"
Selena pulled back the curtains and looked down. Her Second Uncle’s car was still parked downstairs.
"Georgia, are you sure my Second Uncle isn’t out there?"
Selena shouted, and with a hard shove, Georgia pushed Elliot onto the balcony.
She then scurried back to the bedroom entrance just before Selena reached it.
"Georgia, why are you sweating?" Selena asked, looking at her strangely.
"Ah! Am I?" Georgia laughed awkwardly. She reached up to touch her forehead and, sure enough, it was slick with sweat.
"I just got out of the shower, and my hair isn’t dry yet!"
"Where’s my Second Uncle?" Selena had just stuck her head out the door when Elliot walked in from the balcony, his face dark.
The sight made both women tremble in fear and stare at each other, speechless.
In the living room, the three of them sat facing each other.
Georgia nervously glanced at the man across from her, her fingers gripping her skirt tightly. If Selena hadn’t been holding onto her, she would have fled to her room long ago.
’Why am I putting myself through this torture?’
Selena, sitting beside her, wasn’t faring any better. Terrified of her Second Uncle, she had dragged Georgia along for moral support.
But who knew that the hopeless Georgia would be even more nervous than she was.
After a long silence, Selena grew increasingly restless. She figured it was better to just get it all out in the open.
"Second Uncle, I’m not going back!" Selena said stubbornly. "From now on, I’m living here!"
"You’re living here? Do you think this is your house, that you can just live here whenever you want? Did you even ask for her permission?"
"Georgia is my friend! Of course she agrees to let me stay here!"
"So you’re just going to freeload off her?"
"I am not freeloading!"
Selena glared at him indignantly. He shot back coldly, "No? Have you paid rent? Paid for food? Paid for utilities?"
"I will!" Having stayed at Georgia’s for so long, she realized she really hadn’t spent a single penny.
Elliot cut through her defense sharply. "You don’t even have a decent job. How do you expect to pay? Don’t tell me you were planning to use the Sheridan Family’s money! I’ll have your card frozen tomorrow!"
Selena was rendered speechless. That had been exactly her plan. Now, hearing her Second Uncle’s words, her eyes reddened with anger.
It was a matter of pride now. Selena retorted angrily, "Fine, freeze it! I’ll go find a job tomorrow. I’ll support myself!"
"You haven’t even finished your studies. What kind of job do you think you can find?" Elliot said with utter disdain.
"..." A lump formed in Selena’s throat, and she was choked into silence.
Sitting to the side, Georgia was also surprised. She had thought Selena had graduated long ago!
With Elliot on the case, Selena was definitely going home. At the very least, he couldn’t let her stay with Georgia.
But Selena was a Sheridan, after all, and possessed a stubborn streak. She refused to go back.
Elliot came up with a solution: he called in Mrs. Sheridan herself.
Mrs. Sheridan rarely went out. When she heard about her eldest grandson’s divorce, she wasn’t particularly shocked.
Perhaps because she had experienced so much in her life, she had learned to take everything in stride.
The moment Selena saw the old woman, tears streamed down her face. She threw herself at Mrs. Sheridan. "Great-Grandma, Second Uncle is bullying me!"
Mrs. Sheridan’s face was stern. She tapped her great-granddaughter on the head. "You run away from home for days, and you have the nerve to complain about your Second Uncle!"
"Great-Grandma, you’re biased toward Second Uncle!" Selena pouted, rubbing her head.
Mrs. Sheridan didn’t reply, her gaze shifting to Georgia. "You, come here."
She had wanted to call her "granddaughter-in-law," but then she recalled Elliot’s warning and dropped the title.
Georgia felt a sense of panic. She never expected Elliot’s grandmother to come here.
She glanced at Elliot out of the corner of her eye, and he gestured for her to be brave.
"Hello, Great-Grandma!" Georgia said hesitantly, deciding to use the title after all.
’Titles are a small matter that can be changed,’ Mrs. Sheridan thought, ’but having children is a big deal.’
Mrs. Sheridan considerately took Georgia’s hand. In a soft voice, she said, "You silly girl, you’re a bit too thin. You need to eat more, or it’ll be hard to have children in the future!"
Georgia was so shocked by the old woman’s blunt words that her heart nearly stopped. She was too terrified to reply.
Instead, Selena, who was beside her, answered for her. "Georgia is the same age as me! It’s way too early for her to have kids!"
"What do you know!" Mrs. Sheridan shot her a glare, and Selena immediately fell silent.
’Georgia might be young,’ Mrs. Sheridan thought, ’but my grandson certainly isn’t.’
He was already 35. In another six months, he’d be 36, well on his way to 40.
Other men his age already had children in elementary school.
Just thinking about it gave Mrs. Sheridan a headache. ’Insisting on finding such a young girl... it’s just asking for trouble!’
With Mrs. Sheridan present, Selena didn’t dare offer a single word of protest. She simply got into her great-grandmother’s car.
She followed Mrs. Sheridan back to her courtyard residence. The moment she stepped inside, she pulled out her phone to call Georgia.
At that moment, Georgia was entangled with Elliot, completely pinned beneath him. The collar of her nightgown was pulled down low on her chest, revealing the pale fullness of her breasts.
A deep blush bloomed across Georgia’s flushed cheeks. She bit her lower lip. "Be gentler!"
Unable to bear his rough impatience, her fingers dug into his skin.
Bathed in a sheen of fragrant sweat, they lost themselves in their shared pleasure.
They let the phone clamor unanswered beside them.
Selena mumbled to herself, confused, "Why isn’t she picking up?"
He hadn’t touched her in over a week, and the encounter in the bathroom had only fueled his desire. This time, Elliot was determined to take her thoroughly, to make up for all his recent sleepless nights.
"The sun hasn’t set yet. What’s the rush? We have plenty of time."
Georgia: "..."
’I could cry, but I have no tears,’ she thought. ’Are all men his age this ravenous?’
They didn’t stop until nightfall, when Elliot finally let her go.
Exhausted, Georgia lay sprawled under the covers. The air was thick with the scent of their intimacy. She felt listless, completely drained of energy.
Georgia felt that Elliot had come prepared today. After getting rid of Selena, his next move was to bully her.
The thought alone made her angry.
She opened her mouth and sank her small, white teeth viciously into the man’s shoulder.
Elliot pinched her cheek. "Learned to bite, have we?"
Georgia ignored him, continuing to grind her teeth on his shoulder.
The couple remained tangled together on the small bed for a long time, mainly because Georgia had no strength to get up, and Elliot was reluctant to let her go.
They both fell asleep and didn’t wake until eight, when they lazily got out of bed.
The refrigerator was empty, save for some noodles and a few eggs.
She turned and looked at the man sitting in the living room. "Want some noodles?"
Elliot grunted in assent. He didn’t care what they ate.
She cooked two simple bowls of egg noodles and placed them on the table.
After they finished eating, Georgia glanced at the time. It was already past nine.
’Usually, even if she’s working late, Nancy Hughes would have called by now. What’s going on today?’
After washing the dishes, Georgia called Nancy Hughes.
It wasn’t Nancy who answered the phone, but a man’s voice.
Georgia’s mind went blank for a second. The man on the other end said, "Sis-in-law?"
"Dylan Heston?" Georgia asked, her voice dry and raspy.
"Yeah. Nancy won’t be coming back tonight. She’s staying the night with me."
"Okay!" Georgia replied hastily, almost biting her tongue.
Nancy was an adult, and she was dating Dylan now. It was perfectly normal for them to spend the night together.
Georgia patted her chest, telling herself to act normal about it.
When she returned to the living room, Elliot was on the phone, a cigarette between his fingers.
The man beckoned to her. She walked over, and he pulled her onto his lap by the wrist.
The faint scent of tobacco wafted across her face. Still not quite used to it, she took the cigarette from his hand and stubbed it out.
’He’s really getting old,’ she thought. ’He should quit smoking.’
A couple of days ago, she saw a news report about a man who had been smoking for over forty years. His lungs were black and completely ruined.
Elliot continued his phone call, speaking fluent English while distractedly toying with Georgia’s fingers.
They both wore matching rings on their left hands, a sight that filled him with a sense of deep satisfaction.
Georgia was bored out of her mind, watching a muted TV show. After a moment, the man suddenly pressed the phone to her ear.
She pulled her head back and looked at Elliot. He explained, "It’s the designer of our wedding rings. He’s also a friend of mine. Say hello."
’The wedding ring designer?’
Georgia felt shy. Her English wasn’t very good, and she was afraid of embarrassing herself if she said too much, so she just said, "Hello."
The designer was a genuine Solaran. He seemed to realize Georgia’s English wasn’t strong, so he switched to stiff, halting Chinese to greet her.
Elliot took the phone back, said a few more words to the designer, and then hung up.
