Seeing Crime Scenes in My Sleep

Kun Sha saw Jiang Li’s gaze fall upon him and was instantly seized by a terrible premonition. He turned to run, but after just a few steps, he suddenly found he couldn’t move.

Jiang Li picked up the nearby incense and joss paper. "Help me torture him. Just don’t kill him. I’ll burn this joss paper for you."

The little brats’ eyes lit up at once, and they stared wistfully at the joss paper and incense in her hands.

When Jiang Li heard the name Kun Sha, she looked up to get a better view. ’Kun Sha’s men?’

’And here I was, worried I couldn’t find them.’

Jiang Li spent the entire night cycling through various scenes of fighting and crime.

She was only jolted awake in the morning by a series of frantic knocks on the door. She sat up, clutching her buzzing head.

Jiang Li got up, opened the door, and replied in the local dialect, "I’m pretty sure I paid for three nights."

The female owner was taken aback. She couldn’t figure out how the woman who had trouble communicating yesterday was suddenly speaking so fluently.

She could hear shouting from nearby, so she figured other guests were getting the same treatment.

’Our place is the cleanest in the area. All those people who left before just ended up coming back with their tails between their legs. We make our money by ripping off people like her!’

’Even the police can’t do anything about it.’

"Rules my ass!"

Jiang Li slapped her across the face, grabbed a handful of her hair, and stared at her with icy eyes. "Say it again. How many nights did I pay for?"

The owner, Karina, was stunned by the slap. A surge of anger rose in her, but before she could erupt, the cold, sharp tip of a knife was pressed against her carotid artery.

Karina shuddered, swallowing the words that were on the tip of her tongue. ’This outsider looked so gentle and weak, but she’s a total psycho!’

"Th-three nights."

Jiang Li coldly released her. "Ma’am, that’s no way to treat an outsider."

"Yes, yes, of course." Karina clutched her face and ran downstairs.

Jiang Li watched her go. ’They definitely won’t let this go. I just wonder if the people who show up will be Kun Sha’s men.’

Jiang Li turned, closed the door, and went back to bed. When she woke up again, she slung her bag over her shoulder and went out for a walk.

The moment she stepped out, Karina peeked at her before picking up the phone and muttering into it.

Jiang Li was wandering aimlessly when she happened to pass a stall selling trinkets. She stopped and started to browse.

"How much, boss?"

The owner glanced at her a few times, then held up one hand, palm out, and flipped it over.

Jiang Li’s mouth twitched, and she rolled her eyes. ’Selling it for that much? In your dreams.’

She put the item down, turned, and walked away. After that, she didn’t buy anything except for a meal.

On her way back after eating, the people around her began to back away as if startled by something. Some vendors even started packing up their stalls to go home.

Jiang Li looked back. ’That was fast.’

A dozen or so men holding clubs were walking toward her. Standing next to the leader was none other than Karina.

"Brother Hu, that’s her! She’s the one who hit me! Look, she swelled up my poor, delicate little face. Brother Hu, you have to stand up for me!"

Jiang Li looked at the man they called Brother Hu.
