Senpensekai no Madoushoshi

Section Four Trail

As I followed in my footsteps down the valley, my luggage car was left on its way. He is overthrown, and the LORD of this luggage is not seen, neither is the livestock that was pulling it. From the fact that Wadachi is interrupted there, the traces we have followed are considered to belong to this luggage truck.

"This... looks like you suddenly pulled a hit"

Toslin hands one of the luggage scattered around him. It's a familiar vial, with thick yellow liquid stuck inside. Definitely the bin that me and Carol showed you in the workshop.

"Right. Looks like the footprints are still there. And the bad news is someone got hurt here."

Ahead of Carol pointing, after a splash dotted red. That goes hand in hand with the footprint, and it goes on and on all the way. Whoever sees it will answer it as a bloodstain.

"You seem pretty deeply hurt. Is it something you can walk on your own with all these wounds..."

Mr. Rosé kneels down and soothes the bloody snow.

"What, so... you're saying Mr. Quinn's hurt badly? Damn, that's a big deal!

I am disturbed and hesitate without knowing what to do. If anything happens to Mr. Quinn, the village chief or Mr. Ryalland... In that case, I start walking ahead as soon as possible.

"Hey, wait a minute"

It was Carol who grabbed my skirt like that. Toslin rushed off his gaze, but that means, you saw it, my yarn arr.

"Hey... what are you doing, Carol?!

I wave away in a hurry, but Carol's eyes at me weren't laughing at all.

"I know you're in a hurry, don't you think?

"What, what? There's a luggage truck here, and Mr. Quinn's hurt, right? Then I'm not going to help you!

To my words, Mr. Rosé nods.

"That's right. As far as this blood stain is concerned, I have been injured for a long time. With so many painful hands, there is no longer a moment of respite."

"Well, I feel the same way about Atashi. If the person was dead, the reward would be reduced. But, yeah? Who the hell are you to protect them from?"

Carol shrugged so, staring ahead of the trail. The side of it was so intelligent that I didn't think it was the owner of the uncontrolled smile I showed at the inn.

"Oh well. What you're trying to say is, if it was the bandits who attacked Mr. Quinn, then why is the package still here?"

"Oh. It's weird to think about it normally. Bandits are bandits because they steal. There's more to steal here than just a whole bunch of things. We should think something else happened."

"Ah..."

I was voicing unexpectedly. Yeah. You're right about Carol. And what I did was kill the possibilities. This is not good at all. I look Carol in the face and breathe. And I told myself to be calm.

"So what the hell...... Were you attacked by another... monster or something, not a bandit"

"Ugh, I wonder if it's likely Goblin. But from the size of the footprint, it's like there's a mix of things that aren't goblins, too. Maybe it's a dark elf. Look, you said that fairy was afraid of the inside. If there's one near here, there's no chance of getting caught up."

"If you're after a fairy, maybe a dark elf will attack one human being on purpose. I thought you were a bandit. Is it possible that Mr. Quinn himself wasn't aiming for his luggage? You're the village chief's son, aren't you? Isn't there some way to take him hostage and ransom him?

"I wouldn't do that if Atashi were a bandit. I feel like I've seen it. It's just a name and I don't seem to have any money. I prefer to take it in kind and sell it for a higher price."

"I'm sorry for what you're saying. Don't you ever say that in front of yourself?

He said he had so much common sense.

"In your case, I doubt that. Do we proceed with caution anyway? Enemies other than bandits, that means they may have the worst dark elves."

"Yeah. Okay..."

I suppress my feelings to do it and walk after the Toslins as I guard my surroundings. Please, please... I hope Mr. Quinn is safe. To a goddess I've never even seen, hoping for the safety of someone I've never seen.

Then again, it was a while too late. Grrrrr, the sound of eating snow continues to be extended. As it progresses, the forest deepens, as does the snow that was falling in proportion to it. It's still before noon, but it's a lot dimmer. I stare around and be vigilant, but like this, if I were lurking among the trees, I would never know.

"Softly... what's up, Carol"

Toslin suddenly stopped on my feet, so I hit my thoughtless head in Toslin's hard armor.

"No... Huh! What, what's wrong?

When I held my aching head down and looked forward, there was Carol with her index finger on her mouth. I accidentally cover my mouth with my hands. Both Mr. Rose and Toslin gave in and killed their breath.

"Cave...... right. It seems a lot older, too."

We snuggle ourselves in the shade so much that we can hear Mr. Rosé breathing. In front of me...... there are dozens of meters of distance, but that's the cliff I just looked up to, and when I looked closely, I did get a cavernous hole worn.

"Apparently, this footprint followed right there."

Carol advances his legs carefully, and then we go on. My chest is about to burst with no more thrills. But it's strange because when you look at Toslin's back, you can objectively capture that dorky somewhere.

"Wow... awesome cliffs... How many years will it take to grow such a surprise..."

Sometimes I think about it when a bandit shows up and maybe the fight starts. But I have to think so, the chopped cliffs had cockerel, and the twats were thriving. Don't you think you can climb if you work hard? So much so.

"Look, don't just stand there, just come on"

Toslin standing at the entrance to the cave invites me.

"Oh, yeah... sorry"

As I ran over to the Toslins, Carol was glittering with the ground. When you come around here, no snow reaches you, you are whispered by the leaves of the trees, and the light of day is weak.

"Blood stains follow in here, too. There's definitely someone in here. It's just... I don't know, but it looks like our footprints are splitting in two."

"What do you mean, we're breaking up?

Carol pointed to her feet and pointed softly inside the cave, which was closed in the dark.

"One is a footprint that keeps going inside the cave. And the other thing is, you see, this, you may not be sure because the snow is gone, but if you look closely, your footprints are stretching towards the woods. Perhaps there are a few guys in and out of this cave. And more often than not."

"Bandit..."

"Or something else, something that's not a person. Goblin and I said it's this situation that leaves the same footprints as people..."

"So, dark elves?

"So it's possible."

"To sum up, it's confirmed that someone was injured in this. So, I don't know if it's a bandit or a goblin or a dark elf, but there are still footprints in and out. And often enough."

He lurked his voice and Toslin frowned.

"Because it's going to be kind of a pain in the ass. If you're taken hostage, it'll be hard to rescue you."

"In fact, you don't know until you open the lid. So what do we do? Want to stop? Honestly, I don't want to deal with dark elves. They're wizards, aren't they?

"I don't know why. You'll have to go. Well, worst case scenario, Dark Elf, let me handle it when you pull it off."

Toslin sighed heavily, pulling out the long sword he carried.

"Whoa, I don't think Goltmund can do it a little bit from here on out"

"Right. Let them hide in the bushes around them."

"I'm sorry, Gortmund. Wait here for a while."

Goltmund sat in the bushes as he blurted his nose small. I'm careful not to have him to protect me all the time, but I can't say I'm more scared than I cut a big deal in front of Mr. Ryanland.

"What, the Iries are hiding here too?"

Toslin led me to say that, but I shake my neck to the side.

"Ugh. Me too, go. We have to help Mr. Quinn."

That's what I said, making sure the dagger was retreating from my hips.
