Lesson 24: The Most Powerful Wise Man, Consider the Meaning of the Word Full Score

The day after the exam, which was full of happenings.

I came back to school to check the results of the exam.

The results appear to be sticking out in scoring order.

If I didn't take care of the written exam at all, even if I passed, my score would be lower.

That's what I thought. I'm going to check the names from the bottom.

The lowest passing score this time seems to be 27.

It's lower than my father Castle's score, so if you're quite appreciative of defeating an old man like Gail, you should be able to take it.

But I don't see my name forever.

Right. Did you fall...

Apparently, I've been fooled by an old man named Gail. When he seemed like he could be trusted, I trusted him there...

I still think it's me. I didn't seem to have eyes for people.

"Ah, Matty! Did you see that post?!?

As I was sinking to the bottom of my disappointment, I heard a familiar voice.

No, there's no way I'm wrong about this voice. It's Lurii.

"... posted? No. I think I've fallen for the exam, so I'm trying to get back to the realm..."

"I didn't fall! Matty is the chief!

That being said, what Lurii pointed to was a piece of paper stretched slightly above the paper of the acceptance announcement.

Title, "List of Preferred Student Passers".

At the top of it, there was my name.

"Oh... I'm taking it! I'm taking it!

No way this post...... general passers and privileged students are being put up separately!?

How hard it is to understand! You mistook me for a failure, and you almost went home!

"Besides, it's the same class! Group A!

With that said, Lurii is happy to hold my hand.

He seemed pissed off when we first met, but he seemed to have managed to make up for it.

Holding my hand looks unconscious or something, but I'm happy with this, so let's shut up.

That said, if you look closely, beside the name of the successful candidate, there was a score for each subject and a class written.

However, the display is difficult to understand.

Because there are four items available in the class division: Adventure Class, Magic Class, Swordsmanship Class, and Zoology Class from the left, each with a separate alphabet.

By the way, Lurii is "Adventure Class A," "Magic Class A," "Swordsmanship Class A," and "Seasonal Class A," and I'm "Adventure Class A," "Magic Class S," "Swordsmanship Class S," and "Seasonal Class: Blank."

Adventure classes seem to be sorted in the overall scoring order, but otherwise classes appear to be divided by individual subject grades.... except me.

I mean, what's a blank space?

"Same class, you mean adventure class?

"Yes! When I said class in second school, adventure cra-"

"Hi-ha-hoo. How dare you shake my hand? I'm jealous. Oh, I'm in group A now, so it's nice to see you!

"Hands...? Oh, excuse me! I was unconscious..."

Where me and Lurii were talking, Alma broke in and pointed out the hand.

So Lurii, who was holding my hand, let go. Alma all the time.

... By the way, what are you talking about 'burning'? Were you even talking about flaming magic before I knew it?

"So, what were you talking about? Did I really get in the way?

Oh. I'm interrupted. There was some anger-driven magic in the magic I found out about in my previous life, but now I'm interrupted to the point where I feel like I could activate it.

"Then it's not out of the way! Glad Alma got it, and glad it was in the same class!

Right. Nobody wants to hold my hand like me, and Alma, who made me realize, looks like a savior...

... How about that? The trauma that has pierced me in my previous life is about to come back to life.

"Matty's class and score, by the way, isn't something wrong?

"Really?

"I've never seen a class S or a blank space, and my scores are breaking the boundaries!

I was distracted by the privileged student passing, and my eyes hadn't even gone to the score.

Alma tells me I look in the field with overall scores and scores for each subject.

257 out of 50 overall scores

120 out of 10 swordsmanship.

75 out of 10 magic points.

62 out of 30 in the classroom

Sure, there's something wrong with the score.

I mean, not one of them fits in the full range.

By the way, the second overall score was Lurii, with 47 points. You didn't have to make me a sword to pass this.

"... what is this? Is that a misprint?"

"It's too harsh for a misprint... You barely kept the original shape!

"When it comes to swordsmanship, maybe it's not strange to do so"

When I was confused and Alma was screaming, Lurii shrugged.

"Is that old man Gail that strong?

Sure, he was stronger than my father Castle, but when asked if he was the one to get 120 out of 10 just because he won, the question remains.

Even considering my father Castle beat up the regular examiner and scored 30 points, wouldn't it be something like 50 points at best?

"Guy... you're not talking about the Knights Commander, are you?

"No way! The Knights Commander who came to inspect the exam was the exam director instead of the teacher who went to buy the sword! So, Matty, you defeated the Knight Commander!

What, was that old man, the Knight Commander?!?

No. It can't be that on a boulder. The Knights Commander should be stronger.

If the Knights Commander were that strong, the country could perish with one dragon.

"Lurii is not supposed to be the type to make jokes, but there's only so much going on... Well, there shouldn't be any more passes revoked than the name is out here, and if you go that day, you'll see!

Oh, this guy gave up his thoughts.

Yeah. I'll do the same. I like that.
