After a pause, Julian Keaton continued, "To me, these ordinary days are truly precious! I don’t feel wronged at all, Cece, and I don’t want you to feel wronged for me. You are my greatest treasure, one I’ll never lose."

"Stop lying to me!" Cecilia Lynch cried, shaking her head. "We are being ostracized by The Keaton Family, finding a job in Atheria is difficult, how will we support ourselves? How can you be by my side and do anything?"

"I’ll talk to my parents properly," Julian Keaton said softly, "so they’ll let me go. Relying on my own capabilities, if there is no interference from them, I can definitely support you!"

Cecilia Lynch looked at Julian Keaton, listening to his resolute assurance, yet her heart felt even more desolate.

Since childhood, she had always worried about money.

She understood very well what it would mean to be without money.

Julian Keaton had just begun to experience a life without money; he hadn’t yet felt the bitterness of poverty-stricken couples lamenting over every trivial matter.

She worried that he would blame her in the future, would resent her.

After all, she had tangled up his life of comfort and ambitions.

"Do you not trust me?" Julian Keaton asked, "Cece, do you not believe I have the ability to protect you well?"

Through blurred tears, Cecilia Lynch looked at Julian Keaton, opening her mouth but unable to say a single word.

She had no confidence in herself, nor in this worldly society.

Just then, Caden Lockwood arrived with Evelyn Morgan.

Seeing Cecilia Lynch’s wretched appearance from crying, Evelyn Morgan’s eyes also welled up.

In her heart, Evelyn Morgan blamed herself; if she hadn’t returned with Caden Lockwood, if she hadn’t reconciled with him, those things Cecilia had no choice but to reveal wouldn’t have been exposed.

Then Cecilia’s mother wouldn’t have suffered to the point of suicide.

"Cece," Evelyn Morgan’s tone was filled with guilt, "I’m sorry, it’s all my fault."

Cecilia Lynch looked at Evelyn Morgan, pushing Julian Keaton aside and stepping forward to grab Evelyn’s collar.

Cecilia Lynch questioned, "Didn’t you promise me you wouldn’t reveal the things I told you? Why does Julian know, why does Caden Lockwood know too? Evelyn Morgan, I never guarded against you, why did you do this to me?"

"I didn’t say anything!" Evelyn Morgan explained anxiously, "I really didn’t tell anyone!"

"You’re still lying to me!" Cecilia Lynch raised her voice, "Would Julian’s mother be foolish enough to spread it around and ask me to ruin your marriage with Caden Lockwood? Would The Lockwood Family go around announcing it? Would I do it myself? Except for you, who else could it be?"

"It really wasn’t me!" Evelyn Morgan became anxious, "Cece, believe me!"

"I can’t trust you anymore!" Cecilia Lynch pushed Evelyn Morgan hard, "I never expected you to give up anything for me, but you couldn’t even keep a simple secret! No matter your reasons, Evelyn Morgan, I will never forgive you again!"

When Julian’s mother called Cecilia Lynch to tell her that both Caden Lockwood and Julian Keaton knew about her being threatened, Cecilia panicked.

It was also because of this that Julian’s mother revealed everything to Cecilia’s mother.

Cecilia Lynch’s heart was filled with hate.

She hated why Evelyn Morgan couldn’t keep the promise to keep that secret.

At least, if the secret had been kept, maybe her mother wouldn’t have found out everything so soon.

At least, she would still have time to find a way to solve this problem.

But now, her mother was lying in the operating room, life or death unknown.
