Slowly Falling into His Love Trap

Caden Lockwood steadied Evelyn Morgan, who was almost pushed down by Cecilia Lynch, and asked softly, "Are you okay?"

Evelyn shook her head, her guilt making her berate herself again and again.

Evelyn shook her head in pain, murmuring, "How could anything be wrong with me?"

Right now, it’s Cecilia who is in pain, and also Cecilia’s mother!

Caden Lockwood turned to Cecilia Lynch, his voice cold, "I know what’s happened to you has hurt you deeply, but calm down! You chose to tell Evelyn these things, which means you trust her."

After pausing, Caden continued, "Julian’s mother threatened you to sabotage my marriage with Evelyn, which I deduced through a series of things, though until now she hasn’t admitted my suspicions are correct."

"Of course you’d protect her." Cecilia’s tone was unfriendly, "Even if you guessed it, surely she deliberately left some clue for you to guess! Otherwise, how could you have figured it out so easily?"

Listening to Cecilia’s words, Evelyn’s heart grew even more desolate.

So, in Cecilia’s mind, my image is actually this bad?

"This is simply unreasonable!" Caden furrowed his brow, pulled Evelyn’s hand, and commanded, "Let’s go."

"Caden!" Julian Keaton said coldly, "Evelyn knows everything about Cece’s situation, and now that it’s been leaked, Cece’s mother is in trouble too. Cece is just voicing a few complaints, and you dare to blame her?"

Caden paused, glancing back, glaring at Julian, his gaze ice-cold, like daggers cutting through.

Evelyn pulled her hand from Caden’s grasp, then her footsteps steadfastly continued toward Cecilia.

"I really didn’t divulge anything," Evelyn insisted on explaining, "But, indeed, I owe you. Originally, when I left, I shouldn’t have come back. But I... failed to leave for your happiness."

"You don’t need to say such things." Cecilia averted her eyes, "Doing this only makes me seem despicable!"

"Cece!" Evelyn raised her voice, "I know, you’re acting this way because you’re worried about Auntie! I’ll be with you, we..."

"No need!" Cecilia immediately interrupted Evelyn, "Please stay away from me, I don’t want to see you at all, truly!"

"Cece..."

"The more I think, the more I find you incredibly hypocritical." Cecilia’s voice was cold, "Clearly you never intended to leave, yet you acted out a whole departure scene. How did I not see your deep schemes before?"

"Let’s go." Caden Lockwood stepped forward, pulling Evelyn away, evidently furious to the extreme.
