Slowly Falling into His Love Trap

Shannon Dunn’s lips curled into a smile, making her look even more arrogant.

With her tall figure, Shannon Dunn put on high heels, making her half a head taller than Evelyn Morgan.

Standing in front of Shannon, Evelyn always felt a timid unease.

"Want to discuss this in my office?" Shannon asked softly.

"Sure!" Evelyn replied promptly.

Immediately, Evelyn took the lead to walk towards Shannon’s office, outwardly showing no stage fright.

Yet Evelyn felt completely helpless.

She was clearly here to find Caden Lockwood, so how out of spite did it turn into looking for Shannon Dunn?

Shannon’s phone was in her pocket, and she was sure that was enough for Caden Lockwood to hear her conversation with Evelyn.

Yvette stood at the office door, not going in.

In the company, Shannon couldn’t possibly blatantly harm Evelyn’s life.

Evelyn and Shannon sat facing each other, scrutinizing each other, their eyes filled with deep disdain.

"Miss Morgan," Shannon spoke first, "since you’re here to see me, you should tell me what this is about, right?"

"It’s just the two of us here, do me a favor and don’t talk to me in such a feigned ignorance tone, alright?" Evelyn said coldly, "Even an idiot can see I’m here to find my husband!"

"But you changed your mind to find me because you saw me and him hugging!" Shannon chuckled, "Got a knot in your heart?"

"No way!" Evelyn refused to admit defeat, "You think I don’t know? You must have deliberately or suddenly thrown yourself into my husband’s arms! You’ve used every trick to get close to him! Don’t you feel shameless? With your attributes, why not find a better man instead of being a mistress?"

"Miss Morgan," Shannon’s smile deepened, "Caden isn’t stupid, nor is he dull. I’ve made my affections clear and subtle to him several times, but hasn’t he indeed not completely cut ties with me? Still allowing me to approach him under the guise of work."

She paused before continuing, "That’s how men are. They never refuse ambiguity."

Shannon said this, knowing very well that Caden Lockwood was merely using his interactions with her to figure out the chairman’s plans.

She was just a mere pawn for Caden to outwit the chairman.

To Evelyn, however, it felt quite unsettling.

Exactly!

What man rejects ambiguity?

Especially Caden Lockwood, if he truly had no thoughts about Shannon, given his personality, he certainly wouldn’t let her appear in his line of sight!

"Moreover, you should know that Caden is great at fighting, right?" Shannon laughed, "You think he couldn’t avoid me if I deliberately fell into his embrace? Just another excuse to get close to me!"

"You really are the only one I’ve seen who can talk about being a mistress so refreshingly!" Evelyn fumed.

Thinking of the women surrounding Caden, one moment Shannon Dunn, another Eleanor Keaton, then someone like Yvonne Rhodes or Jessica Rhodes.

Evelyn felt particularly suffocated inside.

Given Caden Lockwood’s attributes, the women around him would only increase!

Right now, Evelyn was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed, unsure of how to handle it.

In the future, she’d have plenty of her own matters to face, how would she deal with the mistresses pushing forward one after another?
