Chapter 611: Will She Get Jealous?
Watching Evelyn’s departing figure, Caden Lockwood’s large hand clenched into a fist, producing a "crack" sound in the silent office, making the atmosphere especially eerie and terrifying.
"Mr. Lockwood, I’m sorry, my new high heels aren’t very easy to walk in and I keep stumbling," Shannon Dunn apologized for having just fallen into Caden Lockwood’s arms, "I didn’t do it on purpose."
"Is the chairman making you do these boring things all day long?" Caden Lockwood’s voice was stern, unfriendly, "Such a clumsy tactic, is it insulting his intelligence or yours?"
"Mr. Lockwood," Shannon smiled, "Sometimes, the more clumsy the performance, the more it incites a woman’s jealousy."
Before Caden could speak, Shannon continued: "If Mrs. Lockwood truly had deep feelings for you, she definitely wouldn’t have left so easily after seeing that. Did you notice? She didn’t even show much jealousy."
Shannon’s words once again plunged deeply into Caden Lockwood’s heart.
He had intentionally not explained just to see how strong Evelyn’s jealousy would be.
Unfortunately, Caden was disappointed.
Evelyn didn’t display much jealousy; she didn’t even show anger, disappointment, hurt—any of those emotions.
If she wasn’t disguising it well, then she really didn’t like him as much as he had thought.
The cold and oppressive air surrounding Caden Lockwood became even more intense and stifling, to the point where the air itself dared not flow freely, congealing instead, making breathing difficult.
Shannon Dunn was very pleased with the effect she had created.
What she could exploit were exactly these things that Caden Lockwood found disdainful and scornful.
Although her image would become worse and worse in Caden Lockwood’s mind, Shannon knew she had a way to clear her name.
As long as she first created a rift between Caden Lockwood and Evelyn Morgan, the rest would be easy!
Looking at her reflection in the mirror on the wall, Shannon was beautiful, tall, and full of wisdom.
Shannon’s eyes flashed with deep pride and confidence.
She was convinced that a woman like herself was a suitable match for Caden Lockwood!
How could someone like Evelyn Morgan ever be a match for Shannon Dunn?
"Get out," Caden Lockwood coldly spat the word.
"Mr. Lockwood," Shannon smiled, "Aren’t you curious about what I might discuss with Mrs. Lockwood?"
Caden Lockwood’s dark eyebrows twitched as Shannon took out her phone and dialed his number.
Caden’s phone rang on the desk; Shannon pressed the answer key and turned on the speaker.
After finishing this series of actions, Shannon gave Caden a faint smile and, with all her charm, she turned and left.
Staring at the phone call Shannon had placed on the desk, Caden Lockwood’s expression was as dark as if it had been stained with ink.
Shannon Dunn was a mysterious, intelligent, ruthless, even heartless woman, especially good at manipulating the dark corners of one’s mind.
At this moment, how could Caden Lockwood hang up the phone?
He couldn’t help but want to know what Evelyn and Shannon would talk about.
This feeling of being led by the nose by Shannon was not pleasant at all, yet Caden couldn’t resist his curiosity.
Seeing Shannon come out so quickly, Evelyn was somewhat surprised.
She had thought Shannon would definitely chat with Caden for a while longer!
