Chapter 606: Forcing a Hug
Listening to Logan Shaw’s question, Evelyn’s heart was filled with mixed emotions, and she gently shook her head.
"Why?" Logan Shaw approached Evelyn, "Even if you divorce him, you can’t give me a chance?"
"I won’t divorce him." Evelyn said resolutely, "I’ll be with him for a lifetime, no matter what hardships we encounter, we’ll be together, not apart!"
"If you two won’t separate, I promise to only be friends, I won’t have improper thoughts about you!" Logan Shaw exclaimed, "But if you do separate, promise me, give me a chance!"
Evelyn still shook her head.
Even if she and Caden Lockwood couldn’t make it to the end, how could she allow Logan Shaw to wait in vain for her?
"Are you really that heartless?" Logan’s voice was full of sorrow, "Evelyn, all I want is just one chance, and you won’t even give me that?"
"You deserve to be with a better woman." Evelyn spoke sincerely, "Logan, we’re better off as friends."
Listening to Evelyn’s words, Logan couldn’t help but laugh.
He first chuckled bitterly, then his laughter gradually grew louder, more urgent, until it became nearly hysterical.
He laughed at himself, deeply infatuated yet repeatedly heartbroken.
He did not want her to so kindly refuse him, only to push him towards other women.
He would rather she give him a little hope, making him believe that he and she still had a chance to be together.
"You should leave." Logan said coldly, "I will cooperate with the treatment, you don’t need to worry."
Evelyn lowered her head, her long hair covering her face, "I’m sorry..."
"Go now!" Logan raised his voice, "Every minute you stay here is one more minute of my treatment wasted. Rest assured, I’ll get myself better so you won’t feel guilty and can continue being with Caden Lockwood!"
Hearing the resentment in Logan’s tone, Evelyn bit her lip, glanced at Logan, and softly said, "Then... you must cooperate with the treatment, I’ll... leave now!"
With that, Evelyn began to move her feet, preparing to leave.
Seeing Evelyn about to leave, Logan could no longer suppress his inner reluctance.
Instinctively, he reached out his hand, ready to pull Evelyn into his arms.
Evelyn had no time to react, only feeling her wrist being grabbed, and soon she was about to fall into Logan’s embrace.
With eyes widened, Evelyn’s first reaction in her mind was to resist.
However, she was not prepared at all.
Just then, the bedroom door suddenly opened, and Ashley Sutton entered at that moment, pulling Evelyn out of Logan’s chest.
Ashley looked at Logan coldly, "My time is very precious too! You’ve already decided to seek treatment, can’t you just cooperate without dragging it out like a woman?"
Just as Evelyn was about to touch Logan’s chest, she was pulled away.
She looked back at Ashley, who already seemed impatient.
Logan furrowed his brows, looking at Evelyn, a trace of guilt flashing in his eyes.
What was he thinking just now?
Ashley didn’t bother with anything else, she directly pulled Logan to sit on the sofa, and then began his treatment.
This time, Logan didn’t refuse.
Liam Shaw, Yvette, and Logan’s father all came in, yet Evelyn still stood at the doorway, without taking a step forward.
Yvette stood beside Evelyn, asking softly, "Are you okay? Is everything alright?"
Evelyn didn’t reply but looked towards Logan on the sofa instead.
