Chapter 605: I Want to Be Your Husband
"No! Not at all!" Evelyn shook her head anxiously, "The Logan Shaw I know isn’t like this at all! He values his dreams greatly, he fights against reality, he’s kind and strong, and he wouldn’t give up so easily!"
"The person you’re talking about isn’t me," Logan Shaw sighed, "Evelyn, how long have you known me? What right do you have to judge me like that?"
"Once your hand heals, you’ll have the chance to start over anytime!" Evelyn urged, "Logan, don’t torture yourself like this. What will it take for you to be okay again, like before?"
"It’s impossible now." Logan shook his head, his eyes filled with a desolate gloom.
"..."
"You’re not me. You don’t know the challenges I faced when holding my first concert. Now, preparing for a second one is even harder than the first. I’ve already become a laughing stock in the industry. Everyone is questioning me—since my hand has been injured for so long, why am I still selling tickets, why deceive people for money. I don’t know how to answer them." Logan’s voice was full of pain.
Evelyn bit her lip, then softly said, "I know."
Sniffing, Evelyn continued, "Remember back then, everyone doubted whether I had the ability to get the scholarship, but I knew I would succeed, so I couldn’t give up."
"..."
"You’re the same. Although it’s really tough now, you have friends, family, and a miraculous doctor. As long as your hand gets healed, the difficulties afterwards are merely tests to make your achievements even more glorious!"
When Evelyn spoke, resolve flashed in her eyes, and when she looked into Logan’s eyes, she tried hard to let him feel her sincerity.
She knew how much effort he had put in before, and just how much despair he felt now.
But, as long as life goes on, everything can begin again!
"Evelyn..."
"Even though I’m not very powerful, I can apologize to all the audience present and ask for their forgiveness for you!" Evelyn said gently, "We can do it! Please don’t give up, okay?"
Logan’s furrowed brows slowly relaxed, surrounded by Evelyn’s words.
He fought the urge to pull her into his arms, repeatedly reminding himself that she didn’t hold him in her heart.
"For Caden Lockwood, you’re actually willing to do so much for me?" Logan’s tone was very forlorn.
"It’s not like you think!" Evelyn shouted anxiously, "Although I hope you can forgive him, I treat you as a friend, so I don’t want to see you give up on yourself like this."
"Friend?" Logan mumbled these two words, his expression particularly poignant.
Friend, huh!
"If..." Logan met Evelyn’s eyes again, softly saying, "I’m not satisfied being just your friend?"
"..."
"What if I want to be the man in your heart, want to be the man who protects you?" Logan questioned, "Evelyn, can you... give me a chance?"
"You’ve got to be kidding!" Evelyn quickly averted her gaze, "I’m already married, I’m Caden’s wife."
"You and he won’t make it to the end," Logan spoke with certainty, as if he had already foreseen the outcome between Evelyn and Caden Lockwood.
Then he added, "I can wait until you’re heartbroken and despair over him. Then, at that time, will you give me a chance, for us to be together?"
