Evelyn took a deep breath and knocked on the bedroom door, then softly said, "Logan, can you open the door, please?"

No one answered.

"I just want to talk to you," Evelyn said urgently, "Just five minutes!"

But still, Logan didn’t come to open the door.

"Logan!" Evelyn continued to shout, "Or... even one minute would be fine!"

Finally, she heard footsteps inside Logan’s bedroom, and then the door opened.

The bedroom lights were not on, it was pitch black. Evelyn took a deep breath, and just as she was about to step inside, Yvette stopped her.

"Madam." Worry was evident in Yvette’s voice, "You..."

"It’s okay," whispered Evelyn.

She knew what Yvette was worried about.

"Wait for me outside, I’ll come out in a while." Evelyn said, then glanced at Liam Shaw, and walked into the bedroom.

Evelyn closed the bedroom door, hesitated for a moment, and then turned on the light switch.

In her line of sight, Logan was sitting on the sofa in the corner, doing nothing but staring at his own hands.

"Did Miss Sutton look at your hand?" Evelyn asked quietly, "Logan, Miss Sutton is a renowned doctor. Let her check your hand, cooperate with the treatment, and it’ll get better soon."

"No need," Logan replied softly, "Let her go back."

"But..."

"I let you in not because I wanted to chat," Logan coldly refused, "but because I don’t want you to think my hand injury has anything to do with you. There’s no need to blame yourself, just carry on with your life."

Evelyn stared fixedly at Logan, and her heart was filled with even more guilt for what he said!

Even at this point, was he still thinking of letting her not feel guilty?

But his hand was indeed injured because of her. How could she ignore him and continue with her life?

"Logan," Evelyn’s voice choked, "Caden didn’t do it on purpose. Given the situation, it’s understandable he misunderstood me having something with you. I hope you don’t blame him, and then, please cooperate with the treatment. For upcoming concerts, we will certainly..."

"I don’t need you to be his spokesperson to tell me this!" Logan sharply interrupted Evelyn’s words, "I’ve received your concern, I’ve also received your apology, now leave! In the future, don’t show up in front of me!"

Looking at the clearly angry Logan in front of her, Evelyn’s heart trembled.

Her hands clenched into tight fists, if possible, she wished she could exchange her hands for Logan’s.

A person who relies on his hands to play the piano, and now, his hand is injured, missing the first performance—Evelyn understands how much harm these series of events cause Logan.

"I’m really sorry," Evelyn continued to apologize, "But the hand is yours, and it’s not anyone else’s! For yourself, for all your years of effort, you can’t just neglect the treatment!"

"And then what?" Logan let out a cold smile, "You saw it today too, the curses and misunderstandings from those people who came to buy tickets for the concert! What chance do I have to continue?"

Facing Logan’s questioning, Evelyn opened her mouth but couldn’t find words to refute.

"Might as well just not treat the hand at all!" Logan’s smile deepened, "This way, with the hand injury as an excuse, I can give up playing the piano once and for all! Even if I want to play, I won’t be able to, forcing myself to let go and become what my dad and brother expect of me—a businessman, wouldn’t that be great?"
