Chapter 602: Were You Heartless All Along?
Caden Lockwood scowled darkly, "Yeah! I’ve never had a dream since I was a kid!"
His voice squeezed out from between his teeth: "All I think about is making money! Business is all about scheming, understand? What do I need dreams for? How much are dreams worth?"
"You are completely unreasonable!" Evelyn Morgan roared in anger, "Caden Lockwood, if you keep up that attitude, there’s no point in us continuing this conversation!"
Caden’s smile was ruthlessly cold, "Not talking with me, planning to talk with him instead?"
Evelyn clenched her fists, noticing Caden showing no trace of apology. She bit her thin lips, feeling as if a large stone was blocking her chest, making it hard to breathe.
"I always thought you just behaved strong and indifferent, but actually, you are kind and passionate." Evelyn’s voice was very soft, "But your attitude in handling the matter with Logan Shaw really disappointed me!"
After a pause, Evelyn continued: "Because you are my husband, and indeed, it was you who caused Logan to get hurt, I just hope you will work with me to solve this issue, but you’re unwilling. You even think you bear no blame at all. Caden, maybe, I’m wrong, maybe you’re a truly heartless person?"
Having said that, Evelyn turned around and walked away decisively.
Caden instinctively followed her but was forced to stop.
Words from Evelyn echoed in his ears, and he let out a cold laugh.
Sure enough, her mind is entirely occupied with Logan Shaw!
Logan Shaw got hurt, so her care and distress are so obvious.
Caden even felt that Evelyn was good to every injured person.
Then why would her concern when he had headaches have any special significance?
Why does he assume that her care during his headaches means she has feelings for him?
After all, she treats other men the same way!
The anger piled up in his chest swiftly invaded every cell, Caden was tempted to turn around and leave, but ultimately he couldn’t rest easy, secretly arranging a bodyguard to follow Evelyn to ensure she reached the villa safely.
Driving away, Caden headed straight to the company, asking Sean Ashton to come back and work late, gathering all the documents related to Logan Shaw’s hand injury...
Evelyn returned to the villa, entered the bedroom without a word, locked the door, and even locked the balcony doors, clearly not intending to let Caden in.
She was anxious and angry, utterly perplexed.
It’s just a matter of apologizing and finding a way to rectify the mistake, is it really that difficult for Caden Lockwood?
Clutching her phone, Evelyn thought of calling Logan Shaw, to ask how he was doing.
Yet, she was unsure what position she had to call and express concern.
After all, she didn’t even know what she should do for Logan.
The bedroom was dark, unlit, and Evelyn constantly listened to movements outside the villa.
Even though she had locked all the doors, she was waiting for Caden to come home.
Though deep down, she mostly knew he wouldn’t return tonight.
Their opinions were entirely different, his anger was so evident, how could he possibly come back?
Evelyn’s lips moved awkwardly, she closed her eyes, tossing and turning in bed, but couldn’t sleep...
At the same time, Caden was seated in his office.
Sean Ashton worked quickly, collected all of Logan Shaw’s injury documents, and sent them to Caden.
