Chapter 629: This Is How She Punishes Him
The doctor came to re-examine Evelyn Morgan’s wound and only left after ensuring it had not reopened.
However, Caden Lockwood was still worried. Seeing the tears in Evelyn’s eyes, he held her hand and urgently asked, "Tell me, where does it hurt? Evelyn, I can’t see your wound."
If he could, he wished he could take her pain instead.
Evelyn just looked at Caden, saying nothing.
"Is it here?" Caden could only guess, "Don’t move, let me gently massage it and see if it feels better."
Saying this, Caden gently stroked the bandaged wounds on Evelyn’s body over and over again.
He was so earnest, so careful, controlling the strength of his hands, not daring to exert any pressure, fearing that he might cause her wound to reopen.
She had just returned from the brink of death, he couldn’t let her meet the grim reaper again.
Lying on the bed, Evelyn felt Caden’s concern and care at this moment, but her mood was particularly gloomy.
If he cared about her, then why did he want a divorce as soon as she got better?
Evelyn took a deep breath; she felt she understood Caden less and less...
Finally, Aunt May arrived.
Seeing how serious Evelyn’s injuries were, Aunt May couldn’t help but wipe her tears secretly.
"I’m fine," Evelyn whispered to comfort her. "Aunt May, I’m really fine, don’t worry."
Caden raised Evelyn’s hospital bed head higher, making it easier for her to eat.
However, his face still didn’t look good.
Evelyn would tell everyone she was fine, except him.
Was she using this way to punish him?
Because it was his fault that she got hurt?
Evelyn was indeed extremely hungry, and without noticing Caden’s expression at the moment, she reached out to pick up the meal to fill her stomach.
Caden immediately walked over and quickly took the meal in his hands, gently saying, "I’ll feed you."
"No need, I..."
"Be good." Caden softly interrupted Evelyn, "You need to rest quietly now, if you can avoid doing something yourself, then don’t do it."
Hearing this, Evelyn looked at Caden up and down, feeling that he was too different now compared to usual.
However, after smelling the aroma of the food, she didn’t have any energy to pursue.
Now, she just wanted to fill her stomach.
Caden scooped up a spoonful of rice and brought it to Evelyn’s lips.
Evelyn clearly saw that his hand was already swollen.
In Evelyn’s impression, Caden’s hands were long and full, with distinct joints, those hands were unbelievably beautiful.
But now, his right hand was swollen like a bun, the joints were scabbed with blood, and back of the hand was bruised and purple, without any trace of the previously beautiful hands.
Especially since he held the spoon with a peculiar, unnatural posture, indicating he might have hurt his bones.
"You haven’t bandaged your hand yet?" Evelyn exclaimed urgently, "Go and let the doctor see it; do you want your hand or not?"
Hearing the concern in Evelyn’s tone, warmth surged in Caden’s heart.
"I’m fine," he replied softly, "you eat first."
"Your hand is swollen like this, and you still say it’s fine?" Evelyn raised her voice, her heart twisted in pain, "Go and bandage it immediately! I can eat myself! Go quickly!"
"I’ll feed you," Caden insisted, "I know whether my hand is fine or not."
"You’re holding the spoon wrong!" Evelyn’s nose tingled, "Did you hurt your bone? Why did you hit the wall? Do you think you’re made of iron?"
She would rather he had punched her instead.
If he had, his hand wouldn’t be hurt like this!
