Chapter 630: If I Really Died, THEN You Should Be Scared
Inside the hospital room, it suddenly became quiet. The only sounds were the breathing of Caden Lockwood and Evelyn Morgan, staring at each other, neither willing to give in, both insisting on compliance from the other.
Finally, Caden compromised, speaking softly: "I’ll feed you the rest of your meal, then go get bandaged."
Evelyn furrowed her brows, feeling helpless yet resentful at Caden’s firm tone.
It was clearly his hand that was injured, yet he acted so nonchalantly!
But she knew Caden too well. When had she ever won against him?
Caden fed Evelyn one bite after another, and she took each bite, occasionally making small requests.
Ignoring his injured hand, she found herself increasingly enjoying being fed by Caden.
"Meat! Don’t just give me vegetables, give me some meat!"
"I’ll drink the soup later, I want to eat the rice first."
"I know how to spit out fish bones myself. Can’t I have a bite first? You don’t need to pick out the bones for me."
Aunt May stood by and watched. Although there was something unusual about the interaction between Caden and Evelyn, it was nonetheless warm.
Finally, Evelyn filled her stomach, yawned, and felt drowsy again.
"Can you go let the doctor check your hand now?" Evelyn was still concerned about the matter.
"Yes! Young Lord!" Aunt May chimed in, "I’ll stay here with the Young Madam. You’re tired too. Otherwise, after the bandaging, go back, have a meal, and take a nap?"
"No need." Caden coldly refused, "Aunt May, you head back first. Bring dinner later. I’ll stay here with her."
After a moment of hesitation, Aunt May agreed.
Perhaps it was a good thing for Caden and Evelyn to spend more time together!
Evelyn didn’t bother with much and urged Caden to see a doctor about his hand before lying down to sleep.
Having just been in a car accident, she didn’t have enough stamina and energy to remain spirited all the time.
Evelyn slept for two hours, and when she woke up, Julian Keaton and Cecilia Lynch were in the hospital room.
"Awake?" Cecilia spoke softly, "I heard about your car accident, it scared me to death!"
"It was just a car accident, why are you so scared?" Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh. "You should only be scared to death if you heard I died!"
As soon as Evelyn finished speaking, a cold gaze shot at her, as if wanting to tear her to pieces.
Evelyn shivered at the familiar chill.
She simply glared back at Caden, who was emanating coldness, ready to take him on.
Caden, helpless, had to restrain his anger and continue peeling an apple.
But Evelyn was merely taking the opportunity to look at Caden’s hand.
His hand was already bandaged, and he could still peel an apple. It seemed that it wasn’t very seriously injured, right?
But remembering that he could still hold her even after getting shot made her uneasy.
But how should she approach him and inquire about his injury?
What right did she have now to care about him?
He had already decided to marry either Eleanor Keaton or Shannon Dunn!
Thinking about it made Evelyn’s chest feel blocked and uncomfortable.
Seeing Caden compromise with Evelyn so easily, Julian couldn’t help but chuckle.
"Rare indeed!" Julian teased, "The proud and overbearing First Young Master Lockwood actually fell for a little girl’s antics!"
