Chapter 1235 - 1203: Assassin Group
Chapter 1203 Assassin Group
"So it was a beast!" Fourth Master finally saw that thing clearly, realizing it was the creature that attacked him just now, the legendary Mongolian Wolf that always followed Xiao Lin. Enduring the pain, Fourth Master fixed his dislocated wrist by supporting his arms, waved his double blades in rage, and charged towards Crow. With such a monster present, defeating Xiao Lin would be difficult. One glance and it was clear this was a trained Spiritual Object; even if its master did nothing, it could still understand his thoughts, making it impossible to guard against.
"Fourth Master, your opponent is me." Seeing Fourth Master change direction, Xiao Lin raised his sharp spike aiming at Fourth Master’s back.
After knocking down a group of people, Crow saw Fourth Master coming towards it. Instead of retreating, Crow faced the incoming impact head-on, dragging its long tail along the ground to raise dust and form an invisible gray wall between the two of them. At the same time, Crow tilted its head to the left, its whole body like a massive boulder crashing down towards Fourth Master’s head.
"Courting death, beast!" Fourth Master shouted, swinging his double blades to spark against the spot where Crow was landing, precisely hacking towards its pale belly.
Clang clang! Just as he was about to cut it open, two silver flashes stabbed in abruptly, forcing the double blades aside. Crow’s front paws landed on Xiao Lin’s shoulder without pause, and leapt again, attacking Fourth Master once more. Xiao Lin followed closely, the two sharp spikes, under Crow’s powerful paw attacks, broke through Fourth Master’s defensive zone, closing in within an arm’s length, the metal tearing through the air, fierce sounds accompanying the merciless strike aiming diagonally at Fourth Master’s neck.
Fourth Master stared at the two shadows before him, one human and one wolf, their intuitive cooperation almost as if they were one, indistinguishable from each other. Facing this one-sided situation, she let out a sinister low laugh.
Wiping the blood on her face, her neck pierced by Xiao Lin’s spike looked tragic, yet Xiao Lin did not overlook the gradually healing wound, his astonishment swift as Fourth Master’s sinister smile.
"Didn’t expect that, did you? I have a part of your blood in me, you can’t harm me. You know better than anyone what this is about." Fourth Master’s grotesque smile grew increasingly terrifying, her grin like a madman’s obsession, while Robert, who had been silently watching from a distance, now looked at Xiao Lin with an increasingly eerie expression.
Xiao Lin took a few deep breaths slowly, calming his heavy breathing, quietly signaling to Crow’s position. Although Fourth Master shocked him, it did not deter his resolve to take her life tonight.
"You are a pitiful monster, dying would be far more comfortable than living like you are now. You are nothing but a parasite living under my blood, what’s there to be proud of."
Fourth Master’s sinister smile froze on her crazed face, she screamed strangely, her shoulders moved slightly, and her whole body floated lightly upwards, like a rootless leaf falling from a tree, light as a feather, slowly descending to Xiao Lin’s right near Crow. Because the speed was too slow, everyone could see that at her falling speed, the double blades in her hand had already slashed out, and their target was Crow’s limbs.
Xiao Lin’s icy gaze fixed on the double blades, his left hand shaking, the spike in his hand flew away like an arrow released from a bowstring, skewing towards the slashing double blades. Seeing this, Crow’s massive body almost swept along the ground, and the double blades were shot by the spike, kneeling, while the enormous force caused the slowly falling Fourth Master to miss the target and land towards the direction swept out by Crow.
Xiao Lin seized the opportunity, holding the spike, charging at high speed. Before Crow hit the ground, he lifted his right leg to bump against the handle of the spike, rebounding it, just as Xiao Lin reached Fourth Master’s side, stretching his right hand to catch the bounced spike. Inverting his hand, rotating his body in mid-air, back facing down, he made a horizontal slash aiming at Fourth Master’s abdomen.
Fourth Master, descending slowly, tucked away the double blades, her right palm flipping to swipe Xiao Lin’s right spike, wide open legs rotating 180 degrees, the left hand’s double blade flying up. After sending out a palm, the right palm suddenly exerted force on the double blades, and the thin blade grazed Xiao Lin’s shoulder, stabbing in. The popping sound brought up a bead of blood, and Xiao Lin fell in response, slapping the ground with one hand to bounce up, the rotating speed mixed with silver light.
Fourth Master did not anticipate that Xiao Lin, stabbed in the vital point, could still stand up for a counterattack, her eyes widened as she watched the spike penetrate her shoulder blade, going deep into the hilt. Xiao Lin spat a mouthful of blood to the side, stepped forward with his left foot, forcefully propelling himself, the spike stuck in the shoulder blade being pushed in further by his force.
Entangled Fourth Master struggled to get free from the spike stuck in her shoulder blade, her right hand gripping Xiao Lin’s wrist while retreating. It was unclear who blocked her from behind, halting her move.
That mere fraction of delay gave Fourth Master an opportunity. She grasped Xiao Lin’s wrist, sinking forcefully, swinging her right leg with the inertia to knee attack his lower abdomen, while the two henchmen behind disregarded everything, raising their steel blades from both sides simultaneously, aiming towards Xiao Lin’s left and right sides, the cold blade seemed intent on piercing through his body.
Three-pronged attack, leaving Xiao Lin no room to retreat, but they seemed to have forgotten that by Xiao Lin’s side was still that spiritual beast, its amber eyes contracting, Crow jumped forward fiercely, intercepting all attacks from the two henchmen on the left and right, finally landing in front of Xiao Lin, also blocking Fourth Master’s counter.
Under Crow’s defense, Xiao Lin found a chance to breathe. He suddenly stepped forward, and as the two henchmen fell, both palms formed fists, gathering all his strength to strike towards Fourth Master,
Yet, just when Xiao Lin was exerting himself desperately, a figure silently, like lightning, suddenly appeared behind Fourth Master, without any obvious movements, just lightly twitching their left hand and feet, right hand leisurely yet swiftly swiping towards Fourth Master’s head.
Bang bang bang!
After Fourth Lord’s slender right hand landed on her head, her delicate body seemed to be struck by lightning, her forward-charging momentum abruptly halted, and with a muffled groan, she knelt straight to the ground.
This sudden change left everyone present stunned, even the battle-hardened Xiao Lin couldn’t make out what was happening.
The immense force made Fourth Lord kneel heavily on the ground, crimson blood splattering outward from her knees, dissolving the previously wild, barbaric impact entirely. She looked with round, puzzled eyes at the person who attacked her from behind, while three other shadows simultaneously appeared on the roof’s railing.
From their appearance, Xiao Lin could easily guess who they were. Unchanging outfits, unchanging faces, and unchanging appearances, all as silently as ghosts.
The Assassin Group of the Dan Clan appeared in this place, did the Eastern Three Provinces come too? Or Wing? Xiao Lin looked at Fourth Lord kneeling painfully on the ground, heavy with doubt.
Fourth Lord seemed a bit afraid as she looked at the person in front of her. As Xiao Lin was in a daze, several henchmen darted out from the side, their long knives piercing through his clothes before stopping in amazement, lacking any force. Two wickedly sharp spikes viciously penetrated their bodies, the spikes twisted, and they died with ruptured hearts. The three people standing on the railing seemed indifferent to this; their gaze was fixed on Fourth Lord and her companions. Xiao Lin knew this wasn’t concern, just a routine.
The entire process happened too swiftly, not only did Robert and his companions not react, but even the people in the building opposite didn’t react in time.
The first figure to appear gave a faint smile to the kneeling Fourth Lord. Xiao Lin wasn’t mistaken; the face, devoid of any expression, appeared as if it were smiling. His figure swayed slightly twice, already standing before Xiao Lin, his right hand tracing a trajectory resembling a Tai Chi spiral, aiming at the still-stunned Xiao Lin’s chest.
Everyone thought these sudden four were Xiao Lin’s allies. However, when the person who defeated Fourth Lord attacked Xiao Lin, this shock was far greater than Fourth Lord’s complete defeat.
There was no loud noise, nor rigid strikes. Xiao Lin’s body, which forcefully retreated, was abruptly halted mid-way.
"Really know how to pick the time!" Xiao Lin gave him a bitter smile, knowing the Assassin Group was determined to wade into these troubled waters.
"No changes at all!"
Xiao Lin maintained his retreating posture, as if cursed into stiffness on the spot, his mouth slightly open, pupils dilated, and in his pitch-black eyes was only this person’s face. This voice he would never forget; it was Lui from the Deserted Island, unmistakable.
The person looked at Xiao Lin with a face full of surprise, and the face, devoid of any expression, seemed to be smiling again, an infinitely mocking smile.
"Who are you exactly?"
"Courting death!" Fourth Lord suddenly roared. Finally recovering from shock and pain, her body trembled, and her palms struck the back of the silhouette like an invisible wall of shadow.
With Fourth Lord’s shout, all the henchmen snapped out of their shock, directing their weapons at the suddenly appeared four.
Fourth Lord looked at these four, her voice trembling, this was a visceral reaction. Xiao Lin gazed puzzled at the person before him, seeking answers. Fourth Lord must know this person’s origin, yet seeing the face in front of him change from laughter to harshness, he couldn’t help but act.
For some unknown reason, at this moment, he did not want Fourth Lord to die at this person’s hands.
The figure seemed to see through Xiao Lin’s intent. Before he could take a few steps, it dashed past Xiao Lin like a whirlwind to Fourth Lord’s front, with a flicker at the corner of his mouth, yet showing no mercy as his hands swiftly struck, not giving Xiao Lin much time to react, nor giving Fourth Lord any chance to speak. His slightly slender right hand effortlessly maneuvered past Fourth Lord’s swinging dual blades, appearing at her chest with unimaginable speed. (To be continued.
