The top floor of Silvermoon Court.
Unlike the dining areas below, which were surrounded by all kinds of magical scenery, this place did not contain any extravagantly dazzling decorations. There were so few tables and chairs that, at a glance, the entire floor appeared to consist of nothing more than a vast courtyard bathed in moonlight.
There were no walls surrounding the courtyard.
A nearly transparent spatial barrier completely isolated the howling, frigid winds of the high altitude without obstructing the view in the slightest.
From here, one could overlook most of the Inner Ring District.
Tens of thousands of lamps extended into the distance along the streets and suspended railways, while flying vehicles moved between buildings of different heights like flowing rivers of light.
At the deepest part of the courtyard, a young woman sat alone beside a long silver white table.
She appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen years old. Her long, dark purple hair fell naturally to her waist, its ends reflecting a faint silver sheen beneath the moonlight.
She was not wearing the luxurious attire that symbolized the status of the City Lord’s Estate. Instead, she wore a simply tailored black dress, and around her snow white wrist was a bracelet made from tiny starstones linked together.
Before her rested a cup of transparent tea that had yet to be touched.
From the moment Zich stepped onto this floor, she had been watching him.
She did not attempt to conceal it.
Nor did she deliberately display any sense of superiority.
Her deep purple eyes were calm and direct, as though she were examining a special object she had waited a long time to see, and that had finally been delivered before her today.
The Silvermoon Court attendant who had led Zich here stopped at the courtyard entrance.
"Miss Evelyn, Mr. Zich has arrived."
The young woman nodded lightly.
"You may leave."
"Yes."
The attendant bowed respectfully before turning around and departing.
As the spatial barrier at the entrance closed once again, only Zich, the young woman, and Slimy, who was lying on Zich’s shoulder, remained in the entire courtyard.
Neither side spoke immediately.
Zich calmly studied her.
On his way to the top floor, he had already learned the young woman’s name from the attendant.
Evelyn Astra.
Stoneheart City Lord’s only daughter.
She was also one of the members of the City Lord’s Estate who had rarely appeared in public during recent years.
As for her level, class, and actual strength, almost no public information existed.
Zich could only confirm one thing.
This young woman was powerful.
It was not because she was releasing some astonishing aura.
On the contrary, there were no obvious magical fluctuations around Evelyn. Even the aura normally possessed by ordinary players seemed to have been completely concealed by some unknown power.
If Zich closed his eyes and relied solely on his perception, he might even believe that there was no one sitting in the seat before him.
Such an ability to completely restrain every trace of one’s power could never appear in an ordinary young player.
"Sit."
In the end, Evelyn was the first to break the silence.
Her voice was calm and carried no sense of command.
Zich did not stand on ceremony and sat directly across from her.
Slimy jumped down from his shoulder and prepared to climb onto the long table. However, just as it was about to land, a faint purple screen of light suddenly appeared out of thin air and gently held it suspended in midair.
"Bo?"
Slimy waved its tentacles in confusion.
Evelyn glanced at it.
"There is Star Moon Tea on the table."
"At its current level, drinking it would leave it hyperactive for three consecutive days."
Zich reached out and grabbed Slimy.
"Don’t touch it."
"Bo..."
Slimy disappointedly returned to his shoulder.
Evelyn’s gaze lingered on it for a moment.
"It is more intelligent than it appeared in the tournament projections."
"Summons naturally possess their own consciousness," Zich replied.
"Ordinary summons do not have such complete emotions."
Evelyn lifted the teacup before her but did not drink from it.
"At least, none of the ordinary summons I have seen do."
Zich did not respond. From the moment she spoke her first sentence, he had already confirmed that Evelyn had investigated his combat methods, and she had done so thoroughly.
Not only his public battles during the Chosen Tournament. She most likely also possessed a portion of the records Zich had left behind in secret realms and the First Shelter.
"Why did you ask to see me?" Zich asked directly.
Evelyn seemed not to have expected him to get straight to the point so quickly.
However, she did not appear displeased.
"People outside say you are not skilled at communicating with others. It seems that evaluation is not entirely accurate."
"I’m really not skilled at it," Zich said calmly.
"That’s why I don’t want to waste time."
Evelyn stared at him. After several seconds, an extremely faint smile appeared on her lips for the first time.
"Very well. Then I will also be direct."
She placed the teacup down and raised her right hand.
Buzz!
A silver token appeared out of thin air in her palm.
The token was only the size of a hand, and a star surrounded by nine circular rings was engraved upon its surface.
Zich had seen a similar symbol before.
It was the emblem of the Stoneheart City Lord’s Estate.
However, the fluctuations radiating from the token in Evelyn’s hand far surpassed those of the Silver Star Token mentioned by the attendant earlier.
The moment it appeared, the surrounding space maintained by Silvermoon Court distorted slightly, as though the token itself possessed authority that surpassed the entire building.
"I would like to invite you to join the City Lord’s Estate," Evelyn said.
"I’m not planning to join any faction." Zich said without hesitation.
"Including the Players Association?"
"Including them."
"The Green Group?"
"Including them."
"The Vilhart Family?"
"Including them."
Zich answered without the slightest hesitation.
Evelyn appeared to have expected this result and did not immediately put away the token.
"You have not even heard the conditions I am prepared to offer."
"The conditions will not change my decision,"
"Why?"
"I don’t like other people deciding what I should do."
Evelyn fell silent for a moment.
From Zich’s tone, she could hear none of the arrogance commonly possessed by young geniuses, nor any attempt to deliberately raise his own value through negotiation.
He truly had no intention of joining any faction.
Even though the person sitting before him was the Central City Lord’s only daughter.
"What if I told you that after joining the City Lord’s Estate, you could directly obtain the qualifications to enter the Second Layer?" Evelyn suddenly asked.
A faint change finally appeared in Zich’s eyes.
