"NOW!" Alicar shouted as he had been waiting for this moment, Leon having bought them just enough time.

He sent yet another combination of water and lightning, this time with much more mana channeled into it, the energy crackling with devastating power.

Arcs of electricity rushed toward the Sun Beast as it was hit by the attack, every inch of its massive being paralyzed by the current.

And at the same time, Iris launched her own attack, the massive fireball rushing toward the monster with incredible speed.

BOOM!

The explosion was deafening, shaking the entire temple, and smoke rose from the ground upon impact, forcing Alicar and Iris to shield their faces from the heat.

But as the smoke vanished, the Sun Beast was still standing.

It was on the verge of death, Alicar could sense it, its life force flickering like a dying flame, but for some strange reason, the beast was determined enough to keep going.

And it unleashed everything it had on the two of them at that moment.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

The Sun Beast gave up on its defense entirely and started to swing its claws and massive tail wildly around the temple, its movements becoming erratic and desperate.

It knew any hit on them would be enough to kill them instantly, so it did the most sensible thing and simply decided to go completely berserk.

Alicar and Iris were forced back as they kept unleashing their spells at it one after the other, dodging the attacks, though they were starting to get exhausted from the relentless combat.

"Can’t keep going... for much... longer!" Iris shouted as she ducked below one of the Sun Beast’s attacks, her breathing ragged and heavy.

Alicar knew that too, his own body screaming with fatigue, but he noticed something crucial: the Sun Beast’s attacks were slowing down.

Not by much, they were still fast and powerful enough to kill them instantly, but slowly, the more attacks it received, the slower it became.

"Keep attacking," he shouted at Iris, his voice filled with desperate determination. "Just a few more and... I’ll finish it!"

The seconds passed as the two channeled their mana into many spells, doing everything they could to stay alive, and eventually, Alicar saw an opening.

Without even caring for his life, he rushed forward, the power of his elements fueling his very being to boost him forward with incredible speed.

He arrived in front of the Sun Beast right as it was about to attack again, and channeled his power around his right arm as crimson aura burst around it with intense fury.

Then with this final stand, Vorgath’s image appeared behind Alicar, its massive form mimicking his movements, and the two of them swung at the same time with devastating force.

BOOM!

The impact detonated like an explosion, hitting the Sun Beast square in the face and beak with crushing power.

Unlike the previous times though, it didn’t simply crash back, its body simply went rigid, shaking violently for a few seconds as it tried to comprehend what had just happened.

It lifted its claws, trying to attack once more, but the exhaustion was too much, and after a few seconds, the Sun Beast fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

It was... dead, its massive body lying still, the light fading from its white eyes.

Ding!

[You have killed Lv.10 Sun Beast]

[Kill a Level 10 Legendary-Rank Monster: 1/1]

Iris also received the notification of the kill, and finally, she sat on the ground, panting heavily, her face pale with exhaustion. "I hope we never have to do this again..."

"...Well, who knows," Alicar shrugged, gazing at the monster’s corpse before them, his mind still processing what they had accomplished.

The thing that had killed hundreds of awakeners before, the monster that ruled over this realm, one that almost no human in the Initial Stage could defeat, and yet it was dead.

Alicar, Iris, and Leon had killed it together, their combined efforts finally overcoming the impossible.

That was a feat that many would call out of this world, something that would be whispered about in legends.

And at that moment, a series of notifications appeared before them, their letters glowing with ethereal light.

Ding!

[You have slain the Legendary-Rank Sun Beast.]

[Congratulations, Alicar Soulveil, you are now able to leave this Secret Realm!]

[Prepare for appraisal...]

In the middle of the temple’s chamber, a portal appeared, resembling the one that William, Sera and Darian had taken earlier.

It shimmered with golden light, promising freedom and escape from this nightmare.

[Hundreds of awakeners were sacrificed over the years to pacify the Sun Beast, yet you entered its realm, and put an end to its reign of terror.]

[You have achieved the impossible!]

[Final Appraisal: Divine. There is no limit to how far a Soulless being can go, for even the gods may tremble before him.]

Leon got up as he felt his energy return a little more from his appraisal, his injuries fading away, but so did Alicar and Iris’.

It was as if a divine presence was healing them, allowing them to leave this place after everything they had gone through, their bodies mending before their eyes.

Ding!

[Prepare to receive your reward, Alicar Soulveil.]

"Oh," Alicar muttered, his heart racing with anticipation.

And after a few seconds, the notification appeared, and his eyes widened in genuine shock.

[You have been bestowed a True Title: Soulless One.]

Alicar’s eyes widened at that moment, his breath catching in his throat. ’Oh god, already?’

True Titles were one of the most mysterious things that most awakeners could obtain in their entire lifetime.

Unlike classes and initial talents, which were only obtained at awakening, the True Titles were much different and far more elusive.

The grand majority never received one, though the space in their status panel showing [True Title: None.] always remained empty.

And that was simply because the conditions to get a True Title were completely unknown, even across all the races of the Eternal Realm.

Some assumed they’d need a powerful class, others believed they would need an extremely difficult advancement task, or perhaps to fill some sort of hidden condition.

And even among those who received a True Title across all races of the Eternal Realm, in almost every case they always did in the Second Layer, never in the Initial Stage.

And they always refused to say how they did it, making the knowledge about True Titles one of the biggest mysteries in this world, a secret guarded fiercely.

Regardless, Alicar immediately opened the panel.

[True Title: Soulless One.]
