Chapter 95: Teon summons Asura
A bead of cold sweat rolled down Leon’s cheek as he watched the dark red glow illuminate the entire room.
He swallowed hard, staring at the spreading array as he thought to himself in frustration, ’Shit...’
He was the one that had been aggressively urging Teon to summon Asura all along, taunting his father to bring out the ultimate beast.
And now that Teon was actually about to summon the entity, Leon deeply regretted his earlier actions.
Back then, he had held the fully empowered Excalibur as well as all the massive stat boosts that naturally came with wielder status.
With that godlike speed, strength, and divine radiance active, he had been completely confident in being able to take on Asura without fear.
Now though, all he had left with him was Aegis and Heracles’ gauntlets, stripped entirely of the holy sword’s divine power.
His mana reserves were dangerously low, and he wasn’t sure if his remaining gear was going to be enough to beat Asura in his weakened state.
He gnashed his teeth together until his jaw burned, staring down at his trembling, blood-stained hands in absolute fury.
He thought to himself with intense bitterness, ’Arthur... this is all your fault.’
If the king hadn’t dragged him into that trial and claimed him unworthy of the blade, he would still have his ultimate weapon ready to cut down the demon.
The red sigils thrummed violently with dark, chaotic power, sending heavy shockwaves reverberating through the solid concrete floor.
Thick, destructive cracks started spreading rapidly across the ground in every direction, splintering the foundation of the headquarters building.
The deep fissures extended quickly to the surrounding walls and support pillars of the massive skyscraper.
The structural integrity of the giant tower failed in an instant, and the massive skyscraper started falling to the ground in a catastrophic collapse.
Tons of concrete, shattered glass, and steel beams began raining down from above as the entire building caved in on itself.
Yeon and the other surviving players quickly started running toward the exits in complete panic, screaming as debris crushed the pathways.
None of them wanted to get hit or buried alive by the falling debris, sprinting desperately to escape the collapsing structure.
Leon was the only one who didn’t bother running away from the falling wreckage, standing perfectly still amidst the chaotic dust and falling boulders.
He didn’t make a single move to dodge or panic as a massive concrete slab fell straight toward his position.
Aegis had already formed a solid, glowing green dome completely over his head and body, locking its divine defense into place.
The giant falling rocks and shattered debris crashed against the green translucent barrier, exploding harmlessly into harmless dust upon impact.
The shield stood unyielding against the crushing weight of the falling skyscraper, keeping Leon completely protected inside his personal sanctuary as the building crumbled into ruins around him.
Teon also remained within the falling building, refusing to retreat even as heavy debris crashed around his body.
He kept his palm planted firmly on the fractured ground, continuously pumping his mana directly into the glowing red magic circle.
His eyes burned with an insane, desperate glow as he screamed into the swirling dust at the top of his lungs, "I summon you, Asura!!!"
The summoning sigils vibrated with intense, suffocating power, sending heavy shockwaves through the collapsing foundation of the skyscraper.
A massive reddish-brown hand rapidly rose up from a large sigil located directly in front of him, tearing through the concrete.
The gigantic hand was covered in thick, rough scales, its massive fingers flexing as it gripped the edge of the summoning portal.
Seven more hands quickly rose up from other active sigils scattered around him, erupting out of the floor in synchronized fashion.
Each of the hands were about one meter tall, rising up with terrifying force and crashing straight into the ceiling above.
More body parts kept rising from each of the sigils across the room, each individual limb gigantic and pulsing with dark, demonic energy.
Thick arms, a gigantic torso and legs, emerged from the glowing red array, joining together into a colossal entity.
Leon frowned deeply as he watched the demonic beast materializing through the dust, his golden eyes narrowing in annoyance.
He knew he had to stop the ritual at the source before the giant beast materialized in the real world.
He suddenly dashed forward towards Teon at full speed, closing in on him in an instant.
Teon was caught completely off guard by the sudden attack, his eyes widening in panic as the shadow fell over him.
Because his palm was still planted firmly to the ground to maintain the summoning array, he could not raise his hands to defend himself.
Leon pulled his arm back to deliver a lethal punch straight to Teon’s exposed face, aiming to break his concentration.
However, Leon stopped his fist just a split second before it hit Yeon, sensing a sudden, deadly shift in the air behind him.
Instead of completing the punch, he quickly summoned Aegis by his side, shifting his stance to prioritize absolute defense.
The green translucent barrier materialized right beside his body in a flash of bright, protective light.
A massive reddish-brown hand suddenly slammed into the shield with a loud, deafening bang that echoed through the ruins.
The sheer impact of the blow generated a massive shockwave, blowing away the falling rocks and dust around them.
The shield vibrated slightly, and even Leon could feel the immense power behind it.
He realized the summoned monster was already capable of reacting to protect its master even before fully emerging from the array.
Knowing he couldn’t break the summon while taking direct hits from those gigantic limbs, he quickly leapt away through the air.
He flipped backward, landing lightly on his feet and distancing himself from Teon.
By now, apart from the head, all the parts of Asura had already been summoned into the real world.
The colossal, reddish-brown limbs floated menacingly around Teon like a ring of guardians.
