Chapter 536 - 283: Thank You, Chen Jincheng, for the Hype
(A quick note: A soda bottle costs only 20 cents to make. Anyone who knows about sodas in bars should know that a case of 24 bottles of fake soda can be bought for as low as ten-something yuan. So, if I delete your comment, don’t complain that you paid for a subscription and still can’t comment. I’m just saving you from embarrassing yourself out of ignorance!)

Onstage.
The more Lin Hongxiao spoke, the more animated he became, laying out all his personal insights and theories on the investment industry. Although these "insights" had never been put into practice, he was confident that once the show aired, it would boost sales for his investment theory courses.
Finally, he delivered his closing remarks onstage, concluding his speech. But the moment he stepped backstage, he saw his assistant rushing toward him. "Teacher Lin, quick... check online..."
Lin Hongxiao frowned. "What happened online? What’s got you in such a panic?"
The assistant said immediately, "Teacher Lin, it’s Chen Jincheng! He posted a video from the brewery he acquired, showing that his new beverage is already in production! Because of the whole incident before, this is blowing up online, and a ton of people are tagging you."
A look of delight spread across Lin Hongxiao’s face.
’It’s been a while since that whole thing happened. Is it really trending again?’
’This is fantastic.’
’He’d been wondering when Chen Jincheng’s 300 million investment would finally go down the drain, giving him another wave of hype to ride.’
’Who would’ve thought the old story would blow up again before that even happened?’
’Isn’t this just another chance for me to leech off his traffic?’
He immediately pulled out his phone to see what was happening online. In no time, he found the video Chen Jincheng had filmed.
’He couldn’t help but marvel. As expected of Tiao Yin’s number one influencer, his traffic is just massive.’
’He was ridiculed by the masses for his 300 million investment, and now all he does is post a video of the finished product from his new brewery, and it shoots right up the trending charts.’
’Well, I’m about to get a piece of that traffic for myself.’
With that thought, he immediately instructed his assistant, "Let’s go. We’re heading back to film a response video. I’m going to milk this wave of traffic for all it’s worth."
The assistant nodded and followed him out of the TV station, heading toward their hotel.
Lin Hongxiao didn’t waste any time. As soon as his assistant had the camera ready, he beamed at the lens and began, "Hello everyone, this is your investment advisor, Teacher Lin. I just finished recording a program at a TV station, and I came out to a flood of private messages."
This was a deliberate move to flaunt his current status and the fact that he was filming at a television station.
If a TV station was inviting him to record a program, it proved he was an authority.
He continued, "The DMs are all bringing up an old story—the one about Chen Jincheng investing 300 million to acquire a beer brewery—and everyone’s asking for my latest opinion on the matter."
"I’ve seen Chen Jincheng’s video. All it shows is that the brewery he acquired has started production. I don’t have any new thoughts on the matter. My assessment remains the same as before: this investment is absolutely going to be a total loss."
"Furthermore, the major beer producers have all released new product innovations and improvements recently, solidifying their market share. It’s now even more impossible for Chen Jincheng to get a foothold."
"Of course, when you’ve sunk 300 million into a project, you have to at least *try* to manufacture something. So it’s no surprise that the brewery is producing a product. This, however, is merely his last gasp."
After he finished speaking, he had his assistant hand over the phone to review the video.
Seeing no issues with the take, he instructed his assistant, "Wait until tonight, when the buzz around Chen Jincheng’s brewery really heats up. Post my video then, and hire some people to hype it up. That way I can draw in even more of the attention."
"Understood, Teacher Lin!" the assistant nodded. "You’re sure to gain a huge wave of new followers from this."
Lin Hongxiao beamed. "There’ll be a bonus in it for you."
...
Extreme Bar.
The entire bar was unusually lively. Every booth was packed with people—either young guys with dyed hair trying to look cool, or young women dressed to the nines in flashy outfits.
They had all been called over by their crew leaders or friends.
When they first heard the invitation to hang out at a bar in broad daylight, they were all completely baffled.
’What’s fun about a bar in the middle of the day?’
But as soon as they heard Chen Jincheng was filming a commercial and they’d get to see the famous influencer in person, they all scrambled to get there.
After all, Chen Jincheng was the top dog on Tiao Yin.
Watching Chen Jincheng over in the corner, going over the script with Cai Xiaoyi, everyone pulled out their phones to take videos to post on their social media feeds or Tiao Yin.
However, no one dared to ask what the commercial was for; they had all been warned to keep quiet.
After getting the set ready, Lao Chen started scouting the crowd. He selected the handsome young men and the beautiful women with great figures, moving them to the booths adjacent to the filming area.
Even though it was just a commercial, it needed to project the image of a club filled with attractive people. That would better showcase the effects of the boss’s new drink.
The young men and women who were chosen were all thrilled, as if they’d won the lottery.
’After all, it was a validation of their looks and bodies.’
Some of the prettier girls even put on a show while Lao Chen was making his selections, hoping to be noticed and maybe even get a chance to be signed by Second-Life Star to become an influencer.
And sure enough, as Sister Hong scanned the bar full of aspiring beauties, she actually spotted three who were exceptionally pretty and handed them her business card. It had become a professional habit for her.
She’d even do it while grabbing coffee; if she saw a young woman who was pretty and had a great figure, she’d walk right up and hand over a card. She’d already signed several people that way.
