Chapter 688: Rosalie Detects Something from Yvanna’s Body

Upon hearing this, Rosalie was lost in her thoughts.

The elven race was known as one of the most gifted and talented races. They were born with a high affinity for various elements. Some were even born with unique traits. However, the elves in the Greenwood Kingdom were far too lacking compared to their ancestors.

It was written in their ancient records that they were merely a collateral faction of a much bigger elven nation. No information was recorded on why they broke off from the main lineage. There were only clues hinting at a great war, but no evidence to confirm it.

"We will talk about this again." Her gaze hardened.

Just as she was about to turn and leave the treehouse, the elven king’s indifferent voice echoed behind her.

"For how long will you choose to hide here?"

She paused her steps and looked back, her eyes growing colder. "Watch what you say, Garandel. You may be the elven king, but my royal bloodline is stronger than yours."

She was furious, but she held back her rampaging aura.

Garandel didn’t shrink from the pressure. He stared deeply at her and calmly responded. "We are members of the proud elven race, but we have been stuck in this forest for a long time. I know you are worried about what is to come, but if this plan succeeds, we might find the answers that we have been looking for."

Rosalie took a deep breath and rebutted. "That is just your assumption."

"We don’t know what kind of danger lies in the deeper parts of the Enchanted Woodlands. Have you forgotten about the Elder Bulak of the previous generation? He was a legitimate Mythical Knight when he set off to find an opportunity for advancement, but he never returned..."

Garandel fell silent.

Elder Bulak was from the generation of his late father, a renowned elven warrior. He was so powerful that no human nations dared to set foot in the Enchanted Woodlands because of his mere existence.

"He might have perished, or he might have found Cangnan. We don’t know for sure." Garandel was unwilling to give up.

"You stubborn..."

Rosalie stopped what she was about to say because she sensed someone approaching the treehouse.

A moment later, the elven warrior standing guard outside announced. "Her Highness Yvanna is here to see Your Majesty!"

Garandel pulled his eyes away from Rosalie and responded. "Let her in."

Yvanna stepped inside the treehouse with a faint smile on her lips. "Your Majesty, I heard that they are coming..."

"...Madam Rosalie?" She was surprised to see the supreme elder.

Rosalie nodded. "Your Highness."

"Come and sit." Garandel’s face eased when he saw his daughter’s joyful face.

Yvanna had never smiled again after her mother was killed. She only began to change for the better when she met Alaric Silversword. She smiled more often now, and she was slowly reverting to her original self.

Yvanna took her seat. She didn’t notice the tension between her father and the supreme elder. Her mind was elsewhere.

"Your Majesty, can I go see him?" She shyly asked.

Garandel laughed and shook her head. "I know you are eager to see him, but I cannot allow that. We may have tweaked the traditional elven wedding, but we must strictly follow some rules."

Yvanna sighed helplessly. "Is that so? Why are elven weddings so strict? The human weddings are more..."

She stopped her complaints because she noticed Rosalie giving her a dagger-like smile.

"We have already accommodated their request to shorten the ceremony to two days. If I allow you to meet him, the elders will definitely say something." Garandel explained while pouring tea for his daughter.

Yvanna looked at the tea, feeling a bit disappointed. "I understand."

"It’s just for two days anyway. Just be patient. You will see him again soon." The elven king placated her.

Rosalie, who was silent the entire time, suddenly remarked. "Why? Do you already miss him? It’s only been a few months since you left Veronica."

She noticed something weird from Yvanna’s aura. She wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but she could detect some kind of life signal within her.

Could she have... with him...?

"Can I feel your pulse?" She asked with a serious expression.

Yvanna was startled. She hesitated for a moment before she conceded. "Alright."

While Rosalie was checking her pulse, a thought crossed Yvanna’s mind.

Am I... no way!

She felt nervous at the prospect of becoming a mother, but there was also a hint of anticipation.

"What’s going on, Madam Rosalie?" Garandel furrowed his eyebrows.

Rosalie didn’t respond. She focused her attention on Yvanna.

She sent a stream of mana into the elven princess’s body. When her mana reached her womb, she detected the unique pulsation she sensed earlier.

"You are pregnant, and the baby is nearly fully formed." She looked at the elven princess with a mixture of disappointment and delight. She was disappointed that Yvanna got herself pregnant before marriage, but she was also happy that the Greenwood Kingdom would finally welcome another heir.

"What?!" Garandel rose to his feet, his eyes widening in disbelief.

"Is it true?" He looked at his daughter for confirmation.

Yvanna was also unaware of this.

No wonder I feel like there are some changes to my body recently. It turns out I’m pregnant!

She nervously looked at her father and nodded. "I think it must have happened before I returned here."

Garandel felt a wave of emotion, but one feeling stood out. It was joy.

"Am I going to be a grandfather now?" He mumbled, grinning foolishly.

Rosalie sent him a look. "Please send a doctor to do a thorough examination, but it must be done in great secrecy."

It would bring Yvanna dishonor if this news were to spread in the kingdom. Some might even talk behind her back.

Rosalie didn’t want to see this happen.

Garandel nodded gravely. "I know. You too must be careful not to slip up."

Rosalie hummed in response.
