Chapter 149: Taking Anna away
"I’m going to release your mouth. If you make any unnecessary move or noise, you will die."
Anna nodded her head slowly in fear. Her mind started to race with lots of thoughts. Who is this person? How did he get inside? Did something happen to the old man? Do I need to be under the control of this person from now on?
While speaking, Jack had already thrown a pink mist ball at her and deactivated the arousal state through his inner thoughts.
He looked at the frail beauty in front of him and asked,
"I’m going to ask you a few questions. You should answer truthfully. Otherwise..."
He slashed his knife in front of her at full speed, and the wooden chair she was sitting on was sliced in half and fell apart into two separate pieces.
Anna jerked in fright and nodded her head rapidly like a drum.
"Sir, I will answer whatever you ask. As long as I know the matter you are asking about, I will answer truthfully without hiding anything."
In her mind, she had already come to the conclusion that since this person had already breached this area, the old man was already finished. Otherwise, no one could intrude into this place so openly and speak like this without any urgency.
But she still asked him to confirm,
"Sir, what happened to the old man outside?"
Jack looked at her with a cold and murderous smile on his face.
"That old man is already dead. Do you wish to join him?"
Anna once again became alert and even more frightened. It seems, as I guessed, this person already finished off that old man.
"No, sir. I was just asking. No need to take my words seriously. You can ask the things you want to know."
Jack gave a snort. In his mind, the doubt once again arose. What is the relationship between the old man and this woman?
This is definitely not the relationship of a grandfather and granddaughter. There is definitely something amiss in this matter. I will take her away with me and interrogate her later. Since the pink mist is already affecting her, she is already considered my woman now.
"Fine. Is there any locker where the old man Harold kept his important things hidden?"
Anna understood what he was looking for. She pointed toward the painting on the wall and said,
"Behind the painting, there is a locker."
Jack looked in the direction her hand was pointing. There was a beautiful painting of Anna’s own portrait hanging there.
Jack smiled lightly and walked toward the painting. Soon he stood in front of the beautiful painting.
In the painting, Anna stood on the beach, looking at the tides of the sea, and her hair was floating in the sea breeze. It looked really great, with lots of detail.
Jack was surprised after seeing the painting and looked at the woman, who was following behind him like his tail and standing behind him.
"Was this painting painted by you?"
"Yes, sir, it was done by me. Do you like it?"
Jack looked at the woman. Her eyes were eagerly looking at him, as if she were waiting for praise from him. He smiled lightly and praised her,
"Hmmmm... Good painting."
After hearing his praise, Anna became proud and satisfied. She raised her chest slightly and stood there in a proud posture.
After that, Jack slowly took the painting down from the wall and found the hidden locker behind it.
He looked at the number pad on the locker that password needed to be entered to unlock it. Jack turned and looked at Anna.
"Do you know the password to unlock this locker? If you open it for me, I will take you away with me. You don’t have to stay locked here anymore."
Anna jumped in joy from where she stood.
"Reallyyyyyy....."
Soon she controlled herself from the excitement that was spreading through her heart.
"Can I really get out of this place? But the old man said I have to stay here for my whole life, and this is my home."
Jack looked at her seriously, watched her childish behavior, and said,
"As I said, the old man is gone now. From now on, you will belong to me. If I say you can get out of here, then you can. No one will stop you."
Anna immediately hurried past him after hearing his answer, and with a happy smile on her face, she started to type the password.
She had seen the password many times when the old man was typing it. Old Mayor Harold was not cautious around her because of her harmless nature. Now it became an advantage for Jack.
After the locker was opened, Jack looked inside.
There were two files placed inside the locker, and a small sealed box wrapped in red cloth was also placed there.
He took all of them and hid them on his body. Then he looked at Anna and said,
"Now that you have helped me, I will keep my promise. I will carry you out of here. But you should not make any noise until I say everything is okay."
Anna once again nodded her head rapidly, but the excitement in her eyes was hard to hide. It was normal because it had been a long time since she had gone out of this place.
Jack carried her on his shoulder like he was carrying a sack, and his body moved swiftly like a shadow once again in the middle of the night.
Anna’s lightweight body didn’t slow down his speed even in the slightest. Soon he got out of the place, moved quickly, and arrived at the marked location.
Then he called Max. Immediately, a car with fake number plates that had been prepared in advance came toward him.
Jack opened the door, placed Anna inside the back seat, sat beside her, and ordered Max,
"Drive."
Immediately, the car started to move like the wind at high speed. The car got out of the town, and Jack waited in the car on the outskirts of the town, where the forest was located, until the next day.
