Chapter 988: Change in mission rules

That night, he left the training room after arduous practice. He came across the seniors there in the facility. His appearance drew attention.
He glanced at the seniors before leaving the training facility. No seniors spoke to him. But there was an unspoken acknowledgment between them.
The seniors were looking at Jeremy Night with surprise and respect. It was because so many people had died during the incident.
The higher-tier worm beasts had killed many times. They learned from the elders that Jeremy Night retrieved the remains of the Beast Taming Teams.
So they started looking towards him more positively. No one had looked down on a Tier-3 Beast Tamer before.
They were curious what Jeremy Night’s strength would be if he became a Tier-4 Beast Tamer.
Two days passed.
Jeremy Night went to the administration building like the others. This time, the administration building was filled with a crowd.
His arrival drew attention. He didn’t make any noise. He quietly stood behind one of the queues. There were some seniors who greeted him.
He greeted them in response. He looked around and found out that Elder Smith was there as well. He was handling a different queue.
He looked ahead and saw the female elder responsible for the queue. He didn’t know what had happened, but no one targeted him in the base anymore.
It had first started with the senior members and then people like Luke. But it had stopped over the past few weeks.
He thought it happened especially after his leaderboard ranking entered the top 50. He thought members acknowledged his existence.
Hereafter, there would be no problem. The crowd in the line thinned one after another. Soon, his turn came. He raised his head and saw the female elder.
"Jeremy Night, what do you prefer?" the brown-haired elder asked.
"I prefer a solo mission," Jeremy Night replied.
Hearing that, the female elder was not surprised. She took the device and gave it to him.
Jeremy Night accepted the device and began to browse the missions.
A hint of surprise appeared in his eyes. He found that the rules were strict this time. The easy missions had a one-day time limit, while other missions did not exceed more than two days.
He understood that teams usually used the rest of the time to explore the wilderness.
Because of the new changes, no one got time for other activities. The changes were difficult for others, but not for him.

Jeremy Night saw the mission. He was taken aback.
He then turned towards the female elder and asked a few questions. He hadn’t come across insect parasites before.
These beasts were rare and found in a specific environment. He didn’t expect there was such a place in the wilderness. It showed that there were unexplored places inside the marked territory.
The female elder read the mission description. She was surprised as well, because she knew this beast was rare and found in only one place.
The insect parasite wouldn’t go to other places unless a corrupted beast disturbed its habitat.
The female elder frowned. She then made a few calls in front of him. She confirmed the fact that the mission was true.
"There is no falsehood in the mission. You can accept it," the female elder said.
Hearing that, Jeremy nodded his head and registered his name for it. The female elder then sent the location map.
"The location is a bit far away, so you have got two days. But if the mission date exceeds that, then your rewards will be withheld," the female elder warned.
Jeremy agreed before leaving. Soon, he reached the premises exit. Before leaving, he left behind a text message for Elder John.
Elder John had given permission last night. That’s why he appeared this early for the mission. Next, he left the base and rushed towards the northern direction of the wilderness.
The mission location was in that direction. Not long after going inside the wilderness, he found a big shade tree. He landed on one of the branches and leaned his back against the trunk.
Next, he took out the device and began to view the map. He then looked for the northern swamp. He found a blue dot on the map and calculated the distance.
He was truly shocked. If he made a non-stop journey, he would spend half a day reaching the location.
But if he took a break in between, it might take one whole day. He did one more calculation. After confirming those facts, he put away the device.
Swoosh!
Next, he left the place and started going towards the mission location. He was using the cover of the shade trees to move faster.
If he used another path, his movement would be hindered. The dense vegetation with entangled vines made the route harder to travel.
Fortunately, he found shade trees along the route.
As time passed, he covered a large distance. But the smooth journey came to an end. A group of hyenas blocked his path.
He didn’t draw his blade. He began to create vibrations in his hand. While doing that, he started using his starlight power.
A combination of powers reached his hand.
Roar!
One of the hyenas turned towards him. It stood up and charged at him. Jeremy Night waited for the hyena to come. It was a group of Tier-5 Hyenas.
He had fought against many hyenas before, so he was not afraid.
At the same time, Jeremy Night used his eye power. His eyes caught the details of everything.
He found the speed of the beast was slow to his eyes. But the beast was completely focused on the human Beast Tamer. Its target was the body of the Beast Tamer.
The Tier-5 Hyena opened its mouth wide. It was ready to bite and tear some flesh from the human.
In a flash, the hyena got closer, a few inches from biting the target.
Swoosh!
Jeremy Night side stepped at the last moment. He then touched the beast’s neck with his finger.
Pfff!
The vibration power transmitted into the neck. The attack drilled inside the neck of the beast, leaving behind a hole.
Blood gushed forth from the wound. It splattered across the ground.
