At midnight, City Governor Martin gathered a few Heads of the Beast Taming Families and the organisations. Head Harold had come as well.

The other two City Governors agreed to help as well. They split into four teams. Under each governor, the family heads and the heads of the organisations gathered.

They were going to observe the wilderness in each direction. It left the crowd in shock and surprise.

They didn’t know who was going to watch the last direction.

They looked at each other’s faces, wondering who Governor Martin would recommend.

Governor Martin stepped forward and said, "The southern direction will be observed under the leadership of Head Harold."

Gasp!

A low exclamation sounded the next moment. The Heads of the Beast Taming Families were surprised. Even the heads of the other organisations didn’t expect to hear Head Harold’s name.

Head Harold had always been low-key. His organisation was a recently grown organisation, whereas the organisations of the others were long-standing. It was obvious that they had a bias.

But Governor Martin didn’t look at their reaction. He had made his decision already. It was because of Head Harold that he was able to discover the truth.

"My decision is final. Head Harold, you will watch over the southern direction. If you see higher-tier beasts attracted toward the Beast Powder, don’t hesitate. Just eliminate them," Governor Martin said in a serious tone.

"Don’t worry, Governor. I will take care of it," Head Harold replied to him.

The other Family Heads had nothing to say. They were different from the heads of the business organisations.

They didn’t have any bias against Head Harold’s newly grown organisation. Since the commands were clear, they didn’t wait any further.

Swoosh!

The four groups left the city and entered the wilderness. Then they moved toward their respective directions.

One of the governors was going to take a detour around the whole city before watching the northern direction.

The mission was a quiet one. City Governor Martin didn’t inform others. If the media houses learned about it, it would cause a disturbance in the city.

Everyone believed that the Beast Tide was over, but they didn’t know that the real danger was yet to come.

Time passed.

All three City Governors and Head Harold reached the border of the wilderness. The place beyond the border was unknown land.

It was in the unknown land that the Governors and Martin had discovered the hidden hideout of the Darkshade organisation members.

So the Governors and Head Harold had apprehensions toward the unknown land. On one hand, they were worried about the higher-tier beasts.

On the other hand, they were worried about the tricks played by the Darkshade members.

As time passed, there were no changes. The wilderness seemed to be calm. But the Governors, the Heads of the Beast Taming Families, and the heads of the organisations felt differently.

They could feel the uneasiness. They knew where the uneasiness came from, it came from the unknown land.

The others didn’t know what had happened, but the City Governors and Head Harold knew. Their hearts were almost in their throats. They were afraid that Tier-9 Corrupted Beasts could appear at any time here.

If they were really Tier-9 beasts, then their city was facing extreme danger. The dark clouds of gloom and uncertainty covered their heads.

Boom!

Right then, a small group of mid-tier beasts made an appearance. These corrupted beasts were not native to the wilderness around the special base.

However, these corrupted beasts lived near the border. They usually didn’t dare to enter the wilderness because of the rivalry among other beasts.

Yet this time, the beasts dared to come. It could be due to only one reason: the Beast Powder was attracting these beasts.

At first, it happened on Head Harold’s side. A similar situation then followed for City Governor Martin and the other two City Governors.

They were given instructions to eliminate the higher-tier beasts, but the beasts that had appeared so far were mid-tier beasts. They could only let the beasts enter.

As time passed, these mid-tier Corrupted beasts were attracted to one particular spot. They circled around one specific area.

Head Harold and the other Heads of the Beast Taming Families saw the behavior of the beasts. The heads of the various families were confused.

Head Harold knew the reason behind it. Now he understood where the Beast Powder was placed. When the heads of the various families tried to get closer.

"Don’t get near the place. Our job is to monitor the border and to eliminate the higher-tier beasts," Harold said to them in a stern tone.

Hearing that, the faces of many family heads changed, but thinking of the City Governors, they calmed their hearts down the next second.

It was not the time to engage in personal battles. Next, they returned to their usual positions. The mid-tier beasts continued to gather around the specific area.

As time passed, their numbers increased. Head Harold and the others could only watch helplessly.

It was the same case with City Governor Martin and the other two City Governors. Martin had ordered them to eliminate the higher-tier beasts, but the mid-tier beasts were not in the plan at all.

He still chose to ignore them. If they decided to battle, their lifeline beasts could easily destroy the mid-tier beasts. But he didn’t want to do that.

By doing so, they could alert the higher-tier beasts. If the beasts were alerted, it would be hard to guess what their next move would be.

So City Governor Martin chose to be patient. However, the other Beast Tamers around him were confused. They wanted to kill the mid-tier beasts gathering in huge numbers.

Their strength might not pose a great threat, but their numbers could cause a smaller beast tide. It was still dangerous to the city and the people living in it. Yet City Governor Martin ignored them.

His goal was to deter the higher-tier beasts. Ever since he learned that the beast powder was improved by the Darkshade members, he believed it could attract powerful beasts.
