Chapter 986: Casual Chat with Seniors
Special Base
Time passed
Jeremy Night does the training till evening. He then enters the bath to take a shower. The bath lasted for 20 minutes.
He then walks out and changes into new clothes. He leaves the room and begins to take an evening walk.
Swoosh!
Jeremy Night leaves the accommodation building. He is going to take a walk around the whole base.
There is a footpath available for it. He found it recently, a couple of days ago. He is taking a slow walk.
Because he saw a few brothers and sisters doing the same as well. They are from the second and third year.
They are walking as a group ahead. But he is maintaining a gap between them. While walking, he is looking at the surroundings.
He is looking at the wilderness. Right now, the sky is dark. The visible light is low. The wilderness entrance is completely dark.
He uses his second eye power to observe the wilderness entrance out of curiosity. He finds out that there are no beasts in the wilderness.
He doesn’t know whether the death of the Tier-9 Worm King is known to others or not.
If the death of the Tier-9 Beast is felt by the corrupted beasts, it’s normal for other beasts not to wander around the special base.
Especially, the worm beasts won’t be able to get near the special base.
A flicker of interest appears in his eyes. He is curious to know whether there are worm beasts still present near the base.
On the other hand, two groups of three people are walking ahead. One group which is moving ahead is Tier-7 Beast Tamers. They are third-year students.
The second group which is walking next consists of second-year students. They are observing Jeremy Night from time to time as well.
It is not a secret anymore. They know about Jeremy Night. Especially, when Jeremy Night reached the top 50 rankings. His name is known to everyone in the special base.
They are curious about him. But most of them avoid talking to him, except for a few seniors in the training facility.
There are two females and one male. They are Tier-6 Beast Tamers. One of the females noticed Jeremy Night.
Seeing that Jeremy Night is looking towards the wilderness, the female Beast Tamer gets curious. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. Her name is Tina. Her friend’s name is Rhea. The male’s name is Damian.
Tina stops in her tracks all of a sudden. She turns around and looks at Jeremy Night.
Rhea and Damian see this. Then they stop to interact as well. Because of the ban, everyone is staying in the base.
So they are curious about the Tier-3 Beast Tamer.
Jeremy Night reaches them. He sees the three-member group stopped for no reason. He ignores them and tries to walk past them.
"Jeremy Night," Tina calls out his name.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night is stunned. He pauses his footsteps and looks back. He sees a blonde-haired woman calling out to him.
He then looks towards her and the other two.
"Hello, senior. How can I help you?" Jeremy asks her.
"It’s a casual chat. I heard your ranking has reached the top 50," Tina says.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night smiles and decides to have a casual chat.
"Yes, I have reached the top 50 ranking after a great struggle. It’s hard to go further," Jeremy Night adds.
Rhea and Damian are listening to him as well.
"Don’t worry. You will get there if you do missions each day," Tina says.
"I heard you were hunting alone. You never tried to form a group. I’m sure the first-year students might have recognized your strength already," Rhea interjects this time.
Jeremy doesn’t expect her to speak. However, he doesn’t get flustered.
He says, "I have always trained alone and fought alone. I like to be a lone wolf."
To that, Tina and Rhea aren’t surprised. They have heard about him before.
Damian asks, "What’s your lifeline beast?"
"I have asked a few people around, but no one knows about it," Damian adds all of a sudden.
Hearing that, the eyes of Tina and Rhea light up.
They have wanted to ask the same question as well.
Jeremy Night’s eyes flash with a gleam. He knows the conversation will come to this point. That’s why he has avoided conversation with the seniors.
Seeing his silence, the three of them understand something. They are infringing on his privacy.
"Okay, if you don’t want to tell us, then it’s fine," Tina says.
Then the ice is broken. They start walking together while chatting. Jeremy wants to lead the conversation so they won’t turn the topic back to him.
"Senior, I want to know about the place outside the wilderness," Jeremy asks.
He is running on the left side of Damian, while Tina and Rhea are running on the right side of Damian.
Three of them hear his question.
"The place outside the wilderness. You mean you want to know about the place outside the boundary?" Tina asks.
"Boundary," Jeremy utters.
He knows the wilderness means the area marked by the special base, the land inside the official map of the wilderness.
But he knows there is a vast land outside the official map. The border is called the boundary.
"Yes, I mean the vast place outside the boundary," Jeremy asks in return.
Hearing that, Tina, Rhea, and Damian are quiet. Their eyes are filled with apprehension. It’s because they know the danger.
No one is allowed to cross the boundary.
Tina looks at Jeremy Night and asks, "Why are you so interested in the outside land? It’s a forbidden place even for us."
"Not even the elders would dare to enter that place," Rhea says from the side.
"Where do you think the Tier-9 Worm King lived?" Damian asks all of a sudden.
A quick gleam appears in Jeremy’s eyes. He knows the Worm King had lived outside the wilderness. Otherwise, the elders would have found it already.
"I know about the Tier-9 Worm King’s resting place. But I’m curious whether we have explored the place or not," Jeremy Night says.
There is a reason behind the question. He wants to find the treasure land filled with natural resources.
