STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

5th Zone, City-A

One of the old guards said, "He is Jeremy Night. Didn’t expect to see him here. I heard he was out of the city."

When one of the old guards mentioned it, the guard who had asked the question made an apology.

Jeremy nodded to them. Then they entered the wilderness without a problem. He saw the beast tamers charging across in different directions.

In that way, they could stop any mid-tier beasts. But his goal was not the mid-tier beasts, but the higher-tier beasts.

He then looked toward Melinda.

"I knew you were up to something," Melinda said.

"Senior Sister, you should help the Red Moon Chamber members now. I’m sure they must have volunteered," Jeremy said to her.

Hearing that, Melinda didn’t reject the idea. She was thinking about her organization members as well. She knew the strength of Jeremy Night.

Jeremy Night was stronger than most of them despite being only an almost Tier-4 Beast Tamer. Her presence could only hinder him.

She decided to find her organization members.

"Alright, you can go. But don’t make me listen to scoldings from Head Harold," she said.

"Deal," Jeremy uttered.

Next, he turned around and rushed toward the wilderness. He disappeared into the woods under her gaze.

Melinda sent a text message to Head Harold stating that she and Jeremy Night had entered the wilderness. But she didn’t explain the deal between them.

After sending the message, she contacted her friends. A few of them responded. She shared her location, having decided to team up with them.

Jeremy Night started using his eye power. He saw no beasts nearby. It was a good sign. The mid-tier and higher-tier beasts had yet to move toward the city.

It gave ample time for the city’s beast tamers to leave the city. He then continued on his journey. It had been some time since he was last here.

But he recognized the route. He had spent considerable time in this wilderness of the 5th Zone. It also reminded him of the Darkshade Organization.

As time passed, he pushed through the dense bushes. He came across entangled vines before him. He unsheathed his blade and cut down the green vines one after another.

Cut!

All it needed was one blade slash. The severed vines fell down to the ground. He then went through the cleared path.

If he continued in the same direction, he might reach the border. He had traveled in the same direction previously when he found the hideout of the Darkshade Organization.

The lack of news about them showed that City Governor Martin remained silent. He must have heard about their backer as well.

Rustle!

Right then, he heard a sound. Hearing that, he paused his footsteps. His gaze swept across the area.

Roar!

It didn’t take long for his eyes to spot something. He saw something moving in a flash. When he used his eye power to zoom in, he saw a panther beast.

This panther was gray in color with large, pointed teeth. Its fangs were well over 2 inches long. He observed it further and saw that the beast was over 3 meters in height and its length was over 50 cm.

His eyes flickered with interest. Jeremy understood that it was not native to the wilderness here; the beast must have come from outside.

He saw through the strength of the beast, which was a Tier-5 beast. So, he didn’t plan on using his starlight power. The starlight power was needed for the larger battle.

While he was looking at the beast, the beast was looking at him as well. The Tier-5 panther saw the weak human for the first time here.

The eyes of the beast were bloodshot red. It wanted to taste human blood. The panther beast then decided to attack. It leaped off from one of the tree branches.

Thud!

The beast landed on the ground. It started charging toward the enemy at high speed. It avoided the trees and bushes in a flash.

Jeremy Night stood his ground. The massive beast was charging in his direction. He had little space to move around, but he was not afraid.

Swoosh!

The massive beast appeared in a flash and leaped at him. He saw the long fangs. Right then, his senses became active.

He used his eye power. All of a sudden, the beast’s movements appeared to slow down before his eyes.

"Feathered Steps"

He used the movement technique and avoided direct confrontation with the beast. His body appeared next to its flank.

Slash!

He slashed his blade sideways. The blade cut through the skin and flesh of the beast.

A long red line appeared on its flank. The next second, a torrent of blood gushed forth from the wound.

Roar!

The panther beast missed its target and landed on the other side. It let out a huge roar of pain. Blood flowed freely from the wound.

The panther beast saw the injury. The blade had missed its vitals by a few inches. The beast was confused at first. It didn’t know how the weak human was able to avoid the attack.

Roar!

The next second, anger flared up. Enraged, the beast let out a furious roar. It was not an ordinary panther beast, but a corrupted beast.

Driven by fury, it entered a maddened state. The oppressive aura coming off the beast intensified.

Boom!

The panther beast then looked for the human. It saw him again. The human was standing in the same small spot, not leaving the place.

It angered the beast even more.

Swoosh!

The next second, the panther beast disappeared from the spot. Its speed doubled. Still, Jeremy Night was able to spot the beast.

Cut!

When the beast tried to attack him again, he dodged the frontal attack by a few steps. Right then, he plunged his blade into the neck of the beast.

Pfff!

The blade penetrated deep and severed the blood vessels in the neck. He then withdrew the blade.

Grunt!

The panther beast made a pained sound before crashing to the ground.
