Chapter 1009: Part 1: Fighting against the Tier-5 Wild Buffalos
Wilderness (5th Zone)
The panther beast collapsed onto the ground. It was heavily injured. Jeremy Night didn’t give it any chance to escape. He attacked its vitals.
Stab!
The blood vessels were cut. More blood flowed out from the wound. It didn’t take long for the blood to form a pool around the beast.
The beast then died due to excessive bleeding. He spared a last glance at the beast before moving away from the place.
Swoosh!
He had waited to see whether any other beasts were coming, but he was wrong. No other beasts had come. It showed that they were gathering somewhere.
He started going through the dense vegetation again. Soon, he came across another group of dangerous beasts.
He landed on one of the branches. From there, he looked down at the group of beasts. He was surprised. He didn’t know whether to call it a group or a herd.
He was seeing this group of beasts for the first time in the wilderness. It was a Wild Buffalo, a massive, heavily built beast with a broad chest and a thick neck.
It had a wide muzzle with horns extending over 2 meters. The creature itself was over 3 meters in size. Jeremy thought back to what he had read in the books.
He knew that these beasts were herbivores, but that was before the mutation era. Right now, he saw something else.
The beasts were massive in size. Their eyes were blood-red. What was more, their strength seemed to be Tier-5.
He used his power to zoom in. He wanted to take a good look at the beasts. It was impossible for them to survive if they were herbivores.
Especially since the Wild Buffaloes were not native to this place. They must have come from the land beyond the boundary as well.
He then saw with his eye power that some of the beasts’ mouths were dripping with a red liquid. He recognized the red liquid. It was blood.
Jeremy Night felt goosebumps all over his body. He didn’t hesitate any further. He landed on the ground before them. There was an open patch of land surrounding him.
It gave the beasts a good advantage to target him.
Huff!
The beasts were all agitated. They didn’t expect to see a human again. There were 15 beasts here, and all of them were Tier-5 beasts.
Swoosh!
A few of them charged forward right away. Seeing that, Jeremy Night was surprised. His earlier suspicions and doubts vanished from his mind.
These beasts were definitely killers. Seeing that they were coming at him in formation, he didn’t dare to underestimate them.
Right then, he added the starlight power to the blade. One after another, starlight threads were added to the blade’s edge.
He had thought about using close combat and a self-created technique, but then he realized it was not the time for an experiment.
The beasts’ attack was underway. He decided not to waste any time. As one of them drew closer, he used his second eye power to find its weakness.
He found that the muscles near its abdomen were not that strong.
"Explosive Steps!"
He used the movement method and exploded with a burst of speed.
Those horns were about to hit him, but he avoided the frontal attack. The sharp, long horns struck empty air.
Boom!
It created a booming sound. Right then, he slightly turned his body to the flank and swept the blade across the abdomen.
Pfff!
The soft skin was weak. The starlight blade easily cuts through it like butter. A long red line appeared under the belly of the Wild Buffalo.
Pfff!
Jeremy landed on the other side while the beast crashed into the ground. He didn’t stop. The other beasts continued charging at him.
"Explosive Steps!"
He used both the movement method and eye power to avoid the beasts and predict their movements.
Huff!
Two beasts came at him right then, one from the left side and the other from the right side.
Swoosh!
His senses were heightened. All of a sudden, everything around him felt slow. He saw the beasts’ movements; his eyes collected every piece of information.
He adjusted his body at an angle to avoid the horns while his body was in midair.
Boom!
The right horn struck empty space. Both beasts missed their target. Jeremy landed on the ground and moved backward to create distance.
He then looked around him. He was surrounded by 14 corrupted beasts. One of the beasts was down on the ground; he had to take care of the remaining ones.
Boom!
The Wild Buffaloes came running toward him, one after another.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night was not afraid. He understood that a simple blade skill was not enough; he had to use an advanced blade skill next.
Swoosh!
A Wild Buffalo came rushing toward him.
Huff!
Right then, the other buffaloes started charging at him. Jeremy held the blade’s handle tightly. He didn’t expect to be pressured by a herd of Tier-5 Wild Buffaloes.
These beasts had survived in this dangerous land, so they knew how and when to attack. Even when facing a human, they were not using half-strength.
They were going at full force. Other beasts might have underestimated him.
Swoosh!
When the beast got closer to him, he used the same tactic. He used the movement method to avoid the horns.
But when it came to his blade strike, he didn’t hold back.
"Blade One Move"
He executed the blade technique. The blade moved in a blur before making contact with the beast’s body. Carrying a special energy and starlight power, the blade broke through its defense.
Pfff!
The blade pierced into the Wild Buffalo’s body. Jeremy then swept the blade across its body to create a massive gash.
Pfff!
As he withdrew the blade, a torrent of blood gushed forth from the wound. Blood splattered across the ground. It all happened in a single blade strike.
Bellow!
The beast let out a sound before collapsing onto the ground.
