Special Base (4th Zone)

Elder John tried to contact Jeremy Night, but he didn’t pick up the call. So he contacted Head Harold, but it was the same case with Head Harold.

No one was answering the call. Finally, John called one of his contacts in the 5th zone. Even his contact was not picking up the call.

"What’s going on?" he asked himself. He felt something had happened in the 5th zone that he didn’t know about yet.

He then made a direct call to the city office. Right then, one of the officials there picked up the call.

Elder John then started inquiring. He came to know that City A was facing a Beast Invasion threat.

The City Governors had given out orders to Tier-5 volunteers and higher Beast Tamers to enter the wilderness.

John’s eyes flashed with a gleam. He knew they were facing a situation, but he didn’t expect the City Governors to call on the Beast Tamers so soon.

And he had no doubt that Jeremy Night would have entered the wilderness. He then told the officials that if they needed any help, they could contact him.

The officials were thankful; after all, who wouldn’t want the help of a Tier-8 Beast Tamer?

John then ended the call. He furrowed his eyebrows. He still hadn’t gotten the full details of the situation out there. He knew that Beast Tides had been happening often over the past couple of weeks.

But no Tier-9 Beast had made an appearance so far. He thought the situation might change this time. If a Tier-9 Beast appeared, it was going to be a big battle. He could only hope that the young man, Jeremy Night, would return alive.

He then informed Elder Sandra about the situation. Sandra herself didn’t expect a silent invasion to happen in the 5th zone.

She too agreed to help if things went out of hand. Both of them set aside their worries regarding Jeremy Night’s situation. Since Jeremy Night was fighting in the battle, his absence had a good reason.

City A (5th Zone)

Hospital

Ron and Nora Night were watching the news channels. They couldn’t watch a live stream of the battle taking place in the wilderness.

However, they were getting updates from the injured people. More mid-tier and higher-tier beasts had crossed the border to reach the wilderness.

The higher-tier beasts were handled by the City Governors and other Heads, while the mid-tier beasts were taken out by the Tier-5 and Tier-6 Beast Tamers.

They were worried about their son, but they had confidence in him because they knew it was not the first battle for Jeremy Night.

Jeremy Night had participated in a Beast Invasion battle before.

...

Wilderness

The advance of the mid-tier beasts was controlled. They were slowly being hunted down by the Tier-5 and Tier-6 Beast Tamers.

There were also reported casualties and injuries. Both were taken back to the city by their fellow Beast Tamers.

Whereas the situation with the higher-tier beasts was different; the battle was going toe-to-toe.

City Governor Martin, Head Harold, and the other two City Governors had killed a few higher-tier beasts, but they were holding back their strength.

The rest of the family heads were clueless. They didn’t know what the four people were up to.

The Head of the Beast Taming Association and the Dean of Central University 5 had sensed something was wrong long ago.

It was just that they were waiting for the right opportunity. If the governors didn’t want to tell them, then there must be a reason. They didn’t doubt the character of City Governor Martin and Head Harold.

The other two City Governors were new from another city, so the family heads didn’t know much about them. But they knew both City Governor Martin and Head Harold had saved their city many times before.

Despite being the heads of large organizations, they were willing to wait.

On the other hand, Head Harold was looking at the horizon.

There were Beast Tamers behind him. A few of them were fighting against the higher-tier beasts, while the rest were standing behind in support.

If there was a need, they would step in to help immediately.

"What’s going on?" Head Harold asked himself.

Jeremy Night had told him that the two members of the Darkshade Organisation confessed their team was going to place the improved Beast Powder.

The Beast Powder was the reason for the continuous Beast Invasions. The improved Beast Powder was meant to attract even more powerful beasts.

He thought the plan of the Darkshade Organisation was to attract a Tier-9 Beast. But they had failed in their previous attempt; that was where the concept of the improved Beast Powder came from.

Boom!

Right then, a powerful tremor appeared in the unknown land beyond the border. The tremor quickly spread across the surroundings.

The shock force swept away the green cover. Tall trees and plants were uprooted by the impact.

The momentum of the shock force didn’t stop there. It continued to travel forward after uprooting everything along the way.

Boom!

Hearing that sound, the other Beast Tamers stopped their fight for a second and looked toward the border.

They too felt the tremor was far too powerful.

Roar! Roar!

The various Tier-8 Lifeline Beasts gathered there let out roars upon sensing impending danger. The Beast Tamers were immediately alarmed.

Swoosh!

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the injured higher-tier beasts tried to escape.

This was seen by Head Harold.

"Don’t let them escape. I will handle it," Head Harold said to them.

Meanwhile,

City Governor Martin saw the rising smoke and debris covering the unknown land. He felt the slight tremor as well, even though he was far away from the location.

Martin communicated with his Lifeline Beast. He learned that there was a high chance a Tier-9 Beast was behind the tremor.

He then realized that the shock force was getting closer to Head Harold’s area.

He gave a few instructions to the family heads. He stationed a few of them there and took the rest with him to the border where Head Harold was monitoring.

Everyone used their flight abilities to get to the area faster. The faces of the others changed.

The Head of the Beast Taming Association and the Dean of Central University looked toward each other.

They knew something was up. It was likely related to the matter the governors were hiding.
