Chapter 969: Part 1: Tier-3, 9th Rank - Early Stage

The snake beast moved its body sideways to attack him. The speed was so sudden. He used his movement method to jump backward.
But still, the massive body got closer to him. He brought the blade forward. The flat side of the blade came in contact with the body.
Boom!
The force of the impact hit him. The dark purple armor took a major impact.
Yet, the force was so powerful that it sent his body flying backward like a broken kite.
Thud!
His body landed on the ground with a heavy thud. He felt a searing pain in his chest and throughout his body.
Not only that, but his body was dragged across the ground by the force.
After a couple of seconds, his body came to a halt.
Thanks to the dark purple armor, he was not seriously injured. Still, he thought there might be some internal injuries.
Hiss!
The Tier-6 Brown Snake hissed loudly. Its body then darted toward him. Seeing that, he struggled to stand up.
When the beast got closer to him, he held the blade tightly. The blade’s edge was covered in starlight power.
He used his eye power to observe the beast. He felt a sense of crisis. His senses heightened all of a sudden.
He found that the movement of the beast appeared to be slow. He could predict its direction.
Swoosh!
He shifted his body weight. Before the massive mouth of the snake could devour him, he appeared at its flank.
"Shadow Slash!"
He swung the blade at the beast. In the blink of an eye, the blade came in contact with its body. The blade split open the scales of the beast.
Pfff!
The skin and flesh were exposed. The blade swept across, cutting through the blood vessels of the beast.
Boom!
While blood poured out from the wound, the snake beast hissed out loud. The beast could feel the loss of blood and the weakening of its strength.
Finally, it felt threatened. The next moment, the injured snake beast fled from the place.
Swoosh!
As the beast moved away, it left behind a trail of blood.
Jeremy Night watched the beast leave. He didn’t give chase because he had more important work to do. He sheathed the blade.
He took a deep breath and exhaled. He then went toward the bedrock. The end of the passage had something hidden underground.
The passage had collapsed, so he couldn’t go through the entrance. He went around to the backside and punched the wall.
Boom!
The wall broke into pieces, creating a gap. Jeremy then stepped inside. He used his second eye power to scan the area.
He saw a small stone a few meters under the ground. At first, he thought it was an ordinary stone. But because he was using his second eye power, he could tell there was energy inside it.
Without wasting any time, he began digging. He spent an hour finding the stone. He pulled it out and held it in his palm.
It was a thumb-sized stone of a rare purple color. Though small, if one looked closely, they could see purple veins inside it.
Suddenly, something in his mind was triggered.
He remembered seeing a similar stone back in the wilderness of the 5th zone. Why did he recall that scene?
Because he had used the same purple stone before, and he had gotten purple dots in his veins because of it.
He knew the purple power meant something, though he didn’t know exactly what. It could be some kind of special power. He was unsure whether this purple stone was identical to that previous one.
Buzz!
Just then, the unknown beast egg inside reacted.
He put the purple stone away inside his storage ring and decided to return. He had faced enough danger for now.
The next morning,
He returned to the base. He didn’t come across another beast on his way back. Soon, he entered the special base.
When he arrived at his accommodation building, he saw that there were not many members walking along the corridor.
He returned to the 5th floor and went into his room.
After stepping inside, he shut the door. He went to take a shower first, spending 20 minutes in the bath.
He walked out and changed into fresh clothes. Next, he recalled the purple-veined stone.
A flicker of interest appeared in his eyes. He entered the practice room, closed the door, and turned on the switch.
Natural energy immediately flowed out from the inlet, spreading across the room. He walked to the middle of the room and sat cross-legged on the ground.
Then, he took out the purple stone and held it in his palm. He began using his breathing method, absorbing the natural energy in the room along with the purple energy from the stone.
The two mixed energies entered his body. He circulated them according to the method.
As the energy circulated around his body, his cells were activated and began absorbing it.
Purple dots began appearing in his veins. Earlier, there had only been a few dots, but now the number increased.
Seeing that, he was sure both stones shared a similar origin. He didn’t feel any bad effects from it. Since the unknown beast egg had reacted to it, it had to be some kind of treasure.
Meanwhile, his cells continued absorbing the mixed energy. His physical body, which had reached its limit, was now absorbing energy once again. He was shocked before the purple veins in the stone ran out.
Buzz!
The unknown beast egg reacted again. It swallowed the two mixed energies. It absorbs the natural energy to stabilize.
Jeremy Night was stunned. He thought that the unknown beast egg might break through its limit first.

It didn’t take long for the unknown beast egg to break through. Next, it began to swallow even more natural energy.
The natural energy formed a funnel and disappeared into the unknown beast egg.
