Chapter 1000: Meeting acquaintance
5th Zone, City-A
Red Moon Chamber
Melinda came to see him. They both greeted each other, but they had something important to talk about.
Melinda said, "Let me take you to see Head Harold. He wanted to see you first."
Hearing that, Jeremy nodded his head. Then they both started walking towards Head Harold’s office.
A few minutes later,
Both of them arrived in front of the office. Melinda asked for permission. She didn’t know whether Head Harold was inside or not.
But she got permission the next second.
Creak!
"Let me enter," she said.
Then they opened the door and stepped inside.
Jeremy saw Head Harold again after some time. He was sitting behind the desk right now. Then they greeted him.
Harold greeted them before asking them to sit.
Melinda and he sat on the chairs opposite him. Jeremy raised his head and looked towards him.
"Jeremy, you did an amazing job yet again. The City Governors and I went to the hideout. We found the evidence and collected it."
"Governor Martin reported to the higher-ups in the Human Alliance. They assured us that they would take care of this matter," Harold said in a serious tone.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night was relieved. He was planning to tell Elder John, but the problem was solved before that.
"I’m glad that I could be of some help," Jeremy replied.
Melinda was surprised in her heart. She didn’t expect the Governors to take the matter seriously and verify the truth. Now she was scared of the organisation.
Head Harold then thought of something and said, "Since an organisation was behind the matter, you don’t have to be too involved. Your parents are fine now. You should go back."
Harold’s tone sounded strict. He believed Jeremy Night was taking a risk. If the Darkshade Members learned about Jeremy Night, then they would do everything to kill him.
Jeremy Night had exposed them, so he wanted him to go back to the special base.
Jeremy didn’t expect to hear this. He wanted his family to be safe, but he also wanted that Beast Invasion incident to be stopped.
He knew that the other four Darkshade Members had placed the beast powder there. It was highly possible for the newly improved beast powder product to attract more beasts.
Melinda raised her eyebrows. She didn’t know what Head Harold was thinking.
Harold saw that Jeremy Night had yet to answer him.
He said, "What are you thinking?"
"Head, I think the next beast attack is near. The beast powder placed by the Darkshade Members might be working. You guys need my help."
"More importantly, I don’t want my parents to be forcefully recruited," Jeremy said in a serious tone.
"This?" Head Harold was taken aback.
It totally surprised him.
Melinda’s eyes flashed with understanding. If the Beast Tide appeared, then everyone had to contribute.
Quiet!
There was a moment of silence.
Head Harold shook his head. He understood that it was going to be difficult to convince Jeremy Night.
"You are not weak anymore. You can make your decision," Harold said with a sigh.
"But Melinda will keep an eye on you. I don’t want to take unnecessary risks. Melinda, you will be reporting on him," he added.
Jeremy smiled. Melinda relaxed as well.
A few minutes later,
Jeremy and Melinda left the room. They came down to the lobby. This time, a few other members recognised him.
He used to fight along with them. He greeted them. The members wanted a get-together, but Jeremy turned it down.
He told them that he had other important work to do. The members were disappointed, but they didn’t force it.
Jeremy used the opportunity to meet the office staff and the staff working in the inventory. He used to get his armour guard from that person.
While he was speaking to them, he noticed Sister Melinda didn’t leave; she was tagging along with him. He then recalled the words of Head Harold.
"Was she keeping an eye on him?" he thought.
Next, he shook his head and continued the conversation.
That evening, he left with Sister Melinda to meet his parents. He was going to buy them delicious food. Both of them reached one of the popular restaurants in a cab.
After arriving there, he paid the fare to the driver. Although he didn’t like the presence of Sister Melinda, he respected Head Harold’s decision.
Not only that, but he also got a chance to know what had happened during his absence. They walked into the establishment.
He placed his orders with the staff. While waiting for takeaway, he turned towards Sister Melinda.
"Sister, did anything happen during my absence here?" he asked her.
Melinda raised her eyebrows. She thought Jeremy didn’t like her presence, but seeing that he was talking to her again, she smiled.
"So many things have happened. Two new Governors appeared. Beast Invasions are taking place often," she said.
"Did any Tier-9 Corrupted Beasts appear?" he asked back.
"Tier-9 Beasts?"
"Even if Tier-9 Beasts appeared, there is no way for the public to know," Melinda said.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night agreed. Just as they were talking to each other, another group in the restaurant recognised them. That other group was Beast Tamers from Central University 15.
Among them, Catherine Rosewood was present as well.
When she saw Jeremy Night, she was taken aback. She didn’t expect to see Jeremy Night here. She recalled Jeremy Night had saved her life during the previous battle.
She stood up from her seat. Her friends were surprised. They didn’t know what she was doing. Then they saw her going towards the waiting area.
These people were from the same university as well.
On the other hand, while Jeremy Night and Melinda were conversing, a person entered.
Upon seeing the person, Jeremy Night was surprised. He didn’t expect to meet an old acquaintance here.
"Catherine Rosewood," Jeremy uttered.
Hearing that, Catherine smiled and said, "I’m glad that you still remember my name. I didn’t expect you to come back from the special base."
Jeremy was taken aback. Even Melinda was surprised. The news was confidential; they didn’t expect a third person to know about it.
