Chapter 978: The Red and Black Fruit

Jeremy Night decided to take a break. He sat on a rock. So far, no worm beast has appeared. He used the time to run the breathing method.
The natural energy entered his body. As the energy went around the body, his body started to recover from the fatigue.
Right then, he felt something. He raised his head and looked at the ground near his feet. He used his eye power to scan the ground.
The small grains on the ground began to vibrate. It showed that worm beasts were nearby. He began to use the eye power to observe the beast.
There was a Worm Beast moving underground. It didn’t take long for the beast to get closer.
Boom!
The ground cracked open. The massive head of the worm beast appeared above the surface.
Jeremy Night stood up from the rock. He looked towards the beast. It was a beast over 3 metres.
The worm beast was a Tier-5 Beast. He didn’t use the blade this time. He decided to use a close combat technique this time.
Boom!
The worm beast got closer to him. Since it was a Tier-5 beast, he was not afraid. He moved towards the flank.
He began to circulate the natural energy. Next, he raised his hand to punch. While doing that, he was using the vibration technique.
Smash!
His fist snapped out and landed a strike on the body.
The strong vibrations transmitted to the skin of the worm beast.
Boom!
The vibration blasted away the skin and the flesh. The mucus and the blood splattered across the ground.
The attack left behind a fist hole.
His mouth curved into an arc. He then attacked with the same fist attack.
As time passed, more vibrations were transmitted to the skin and flesh of the body.
Pfff!
Each punch was leaving behind holes. Blood flowed out from the wound. The beast tried to attack him.
But he moved away from the place whenever it tried. So the beast couldn’t touch him.
Still, a small portion of the worm beast was under the ground. The Tier-5 beast didn’t move away from the place.
It was enraged. It wanted the human beast tamer dead. But with the continuous fist attacks, the worm beast was riddled with holes.
Pfff!
It had formed a pool of blood. In the end, the worm beast disappeared back into the ground.
The speed was slow. Yet it used the remaining strength to disappear.
Jeremy Night stopped his movements. He didn’t chase after the worm beast. He wanted to test his close combat. It worked out well.
He looked at his hands covered in slimy mucous liquid. He knew the liquid was dangerous. He sat on the rock to clean his hands of the mucus.
Next, he used some drinking water to clean his hands. Soon, he was done with the process. He saw that his hands were clean right now.
Sigh!
Jeremy Night heaved a sigh of relief. He then once again used the inner healing method. The natural energy entered his body.
The natural energy flowed across the body. The hungry cells became active. They absorbed the natural energy.
Seeing that, he continued to repeat the process. Soon, he recovered his strength. Next, he decided to explore the area.
He still had a task to look out for natural resources. He got work to do. He stood up from the rock. Next, he left the place.
On the way, he was actively using his eye power. He was paying attention to the trees and plants. If he came across any natural fruit, then it would be useful.
He knew that most of the natural treasures had already been plundered by the elders of the special base. He had come across a chance at the cliff back then, but it couldn’t be repeated every time.
He left behind markings while going forward.

Suddenly, he heard a sound. He stopped moving forward. The green canopies had covered his vision, so he used the second eye power.
His gaze passed through the green vegetation. Next, he saw a thousand-legged Centipede beast.
The size of the centipede beast was over 3 metres, and the length of the beast was over 120 ft. He didn’t expect to come across the beast.
Right now, the beast was going somewhere. He didn’t want to confront the beast. He waited there. When the centipede went away from the place, he finally moved his legs.
He began to increase the pace. He then reached the exact spot where the centipede had gone.
He looked at the long trail. He then looked back. The beast was going from one deeper area to another. The place was not near the base.
He then began to calculate the distance. He needed to go back before evening. Otherwise, he would be stuck here in the deeper area of the wilderness.
He decided not to go further. He would explore the surroundings here. As time passed, he scanned the place. He was not leaving behind any small plants or trees.
Soon, his eyes caught a fruit. The fruit was half red and half black in colour. It was growing on one of the trees. He moved towards the strange tree.
The strange tree was like the other trees. It was extremely tall in height. He then used the starlight blade to climb the tree. He wanted to know whether the fruit could be consumed or not.
If the fruit was useful, then his unknown beast egg inside the mental zone would react.
Soon, he reached halfway up the tree. The fruit was growing on one of the branches. He could already see the fruit clearly. The red and black colours were glowing.
But he was waiting. He was waiting for the unknown beast egg inside the mental zone to react. As time passed, the unknown beast egg didn’t react.
It showed that the glowing fruit was not useful to him. He didn’t want to take a risk right now. If the fruit were beneficial, then the unknown beast egg would have reacted for sure.
He thought the fruit could be a poisonous one.
