Chapter 431 - 203: Saying Goodbye, You Even Changed Her Clothes?
"Excuse me, gentlemen, may I interrupt for a moment?"
The beautiful bartender had been listening nearby. After hearing Xu Yun was tipping in increments of one hundred thousand, she was completely stunned.
’People can really do that?’
Her mind immediately started racing with possibilities.
From their conversation, it seemed like they were in a hurry to find a "Xiangjiang expert."
’Isn’t my friend exactly that? She’d be perfect for the job.’
She smiled and said, "I overheard you saying you’re looking for someone familiar with Xiangjiang to be a private guide?"
"That’s right."
Xu Yun turned to look at her and asked, "Miss, do you know anyone?"
"I do, I do."
The bartender replied, "I have a friend who travels to Xiangjiang all the time. She knows the place inside and out—people call her the ’Xiangjiang expert.’ She should be able to meet your needs."
"Alright. Contact your friend and have them come find me at the hotel tomorrow."
Xu Yun gave her his room number and nodded. "As long as the friend you recommend is reliable, I’ll give you a reward."
"Thank you."
The bartender’s eyes lit up as she looked at the room number Xu Yun had left her.
As a member of the hotel staff, she knew exactly what that number represented.
That was the presidential suite, a room that cost over 60,000 a night.
’For a man so young to be staying in a room like that, you can only imagine how rich he must be!’
Just then, the technician, Xiaoyun, arrived at the lounge.
Lately, after getting off work, she would always come here alone, order a relatively inexpensive cocktail at the bar, and then head home.
When Xiaoyun came to the bar and saw Xu Yun was also there, she felt a little awkward.
She wasn’t sure if she should greet him.
Xu Yun, however, was also a bit surprised to see her and took the initiative to smile. "What a coincidence. You’re here for a drink too?"
"Mhm."
Xiaoyun nodded and smiled. "I didn’t expect you and your friend to be here, President Xu."
"We were bored, so we came for a drink."
Xu Yun asked, "What would you like to drink? Order whatever you want. It’s on me."
"There’s no need, President Xu. I can get it myself."
"Come on, don’t be so formal with me. I’ll get offended."
"Well, alright then."
Xiaoyun looked at the bartender and said, "Miss, the usual, please. Thanks."
"You got it. One Long Island Iced Tea."
She was a regular, so the bartender already recognized her and knew this was what she always drank. She started mixing the cocktail.
It’s a cocktail made with four base spirits—vodka, rum, gin, and tequila—mixed with ice, white mint liqueur, lemon juice, and other ingredients.
It went down smooth, with a taste that was a little sweet, a touch sour, and slightly bitter. Its color and flavor were both like black tea.
But it was undoubtedly a strong liquor. The alcohol content was quite high; it was easy to drink at first, but the kick came on strong later, and many people would get drunk without realizing it.
But Xiaoyun never overdid it when she came; one glass was just right.
Lin Wanzhou saw the woman who had suddenly appeared and knew he was the third wheel. He stood up and said, "You two chat. I’m going to the gym to get a workout in. Don’t worry about me."
With that, he got up and left.
Soon, Xiaoyun’s cocktail was ready.
Xu Yun raised his vodka and clinked glasses with her.
Xiaoyun said gratefully, "President Xu, thank you for today. Thank you for trusting me."
"Don’t mention it. You earned it."
Xu Yun smiled. "As they say, money can’t buy happiness, but you gave me a very pleasant afternoon today."
"And I was very happy."
Hearing this, Xiaoyun smiled and asked, "President Xu, are you just here in Shenzhen for fun, or are you here on business?"
"Just passing through, I suppose."
Xu Yun replied, "I’m getting ready to leave."
"Oh? Why not stay and have fun for a few more days?"
Xiaoyun offered, "If you’re not familiar with the area, I can take a few days off to be your guide and show you around properly."
"No need. Maybe next time, if there’s a chance."
Xu Yun smiled. "My friend and I are planning to go to Xiangjiang tomorrow for some fun, broaden our horizons a bit."
"Oh, alright then."
Xiaoyun raised her glass and smiled. "Well, in that case, let me be the first to wish you a wonderful and happy trip."
"Thanks."
Xu Yun drank with her and said, "I wish you happiness, too, and that all your dreams come true."
Afterwards, because of Xu Yun, Xiaoyun made an exception and stayed a little longer, having another drink as well.
But just as the two were about to leave, Xiaoyun suddenly swayed as she stood up.
Xu Yun stepped forward to support her, asking in confusion, "What’s wrong? Did you drink too much?"
"I was happy today, so I drank a little extra. I think I might be a little drunk."
Xiaoyun said, her voice tinged with tipsiness, "It’s fine, President Xu. I can get back on my own."
"Forget it. There’s no way you can go back like this."
Xu Yun said, "How about this: come back to my room and rest for a bit. You can leave once you’ve sobered up."
"I guess that’s the only way."
Xiaoyun blushed, nodded, and said with some embarrassment, "I’m sorry to trouble you, President Xu."
"Don’t worry about it. My suite has big beds and plenty of rooms."
The bartender watched Xu Yun help the swaying woman leave, and everything was clear without a word being said.
’That woman got drunk really fast!’
’It was such an obvious ploy. She couldn’t believe Xu Yun hadn’t seen right through it.’
’But he still played along.’
’It just goes to show: the wolf is willing, and the lamb is compliant. They both knew what they were getting into without saying a word!’
Xu Yun brought Xiaoyun to his suite.
Even though it was a hotel, to the feigning-drunkenness Xiaoyun, it felt like she had walked into a mansion. The decor, the sheer size of the space—it felt a little unreal!
A room this big could easily host a party for twenty or thirty people!
No wonder it cost over 60,000 a night.
’A room this big, and only Xu Yun lives here? What a waste.’
After helping Xiaoyun onto the bed, Xu Yun said, "Lie here for a bit. I’ll go run a hot bath for you in the bathroom. Soaking in hot water will help you sober up faster."
