"I remember you, I was the one who knocked you down this morning," the girl suddenly said loudly.
"It’s fine, it’s all in the past. I was partly responsible, too. No need to blame yourself so much."
Murong Hai never considered it a big deal; after all, everyone has their rushed moments.
But the girl seemed adamant and insisted on apologizing to Murong Hai.
"I already said this morning that if fate lets us meet again, I’ll definitely treat you to a meal. It’s lunchtime now, if you don’t mind, let’s have a simple meal together."
Seeing the girl’s sincere gaze, Murong Hai found it hard to refuse.
He thought about how he came to the company to investigate matters. It wouldn’t hurt to ask this girl.
"Sure, give me a moment to change, I’ll be right out." Saying this, Murong Hai turned to enter the security room.
About two minutes later, Murong Hai came out wearing clean casual clothes.

"How did you know this is the place I wanted? The food here is really delicious."

"Order anything you want, this meal is on me." Saying this, the girl handed the menu to Murong Hai.

"I see why you’ve been hanging around the company entrance these days."

Hearing Murong Hai mention Director Zhang, Bai Lan’s face immediately showed a hint of disdain.
"You’re talking about Director Zhang? I advise you not to go to the finance department. Those who work with him aren’t good people."
Bai Lan, who was cheerful moments ago, suddenly changed her expression.

Years ago he had a major conflict with our board member Wang Lishan. I’ve heard they fought over a woman, who ended up with Director Zhang. They had countless arguments, and I’ve heard he’s cunning, embezzling funds from the department."
After hearing Bai Lanshuo’s account, Murong Hai had a clearer picture.
He now understood why no one suspected Wang Lishan and Director Zhang—they had such a public falling out.
But Murong Hai felt they were acting, putting on a show for others in the company.
If they convinced everyone of their rift, no one would know they’re actually aligned.
