Chapter 2754: Your Stele Has Already Been Returned
The Heaven Slayer took a brief rest, then gripped the Heaven-Slaying Blade once more and flew out of the Nine Realms.
"Where is he going?" Qi’er asked in surprise.
"The Ancient Battlefield is in chaos again; the Guardian Gods want to bully the fewer with their numbers." The Human Emperor pouted. "If I weren’t here suppressing the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet, I’d have gone over already. Just wait, I’m heading over to have a look as well!"
With that, the Human Emperor also left in the same manner as the Heaven Slayer.
The Demon Lord chuckled, but he didn’t leave. He had to stay here to guard Su Yang.
The half piece of the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet was still on Su Yang, and the Guardian Gods would surely try to snatch it back. If he left, and the strongest of the Guardian Gods came over, not only would the Stone Tablet be taken, but Su Yang would be in grave danger too.
Qi’er definitely wouldn’t leave; she cared more about Su Yang’s safety.
At the Ancient Battlefield, the great battle had already reached an intense stage.
The Taoist and Buddha Venerables faced off against seven of the Guardian Gods’ strongest; they were severely outnumbered. Initially, when the Taoist Venerable used One Qi Three Pure Ones, they could barely maintain a tie.
However, with time passing, the three incarnations of One Qi Three Pure Ones couldn’t hold for long, leaving only the Buddha and Taoist Venerables. Against the seven strongest, they naturally fell into a disadvantage.
"Taoist Venerable, can you still speak such arrogant words now?" the First God asked coldly, having been deeply irritated by the Taoist Venerable earlier. Now he finally had the upper hand, and his heart was immensely excited.
"If I can’t speak bravely, what’s the point of living?" the Taoist Venerable retorted. "First God, you should fight quickly. Our Human Clan doesn’t lack strong ones. Just wait until they arrive and see if you can still laugh so brightly!"
"Your Human Clan’s strong ones? Ha, do you think they can spare the hands to help you?" the First God sneered. "Don’t forget, we have more strong Guardian Gods. Your Human Clan’s few strong ones, not staying in the Nine Realms to guard the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet — running here to help you? You’re thinking too much!"
"Is that so?" the Taoist Venerable smiled lightly. "Do you really think we need to hold onto that half piece of the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet?"
The First God paused, surprised by the Taoist Venerable’s answer. Could the Human Clan really not intend to keep that half piece of the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet? What was their plan?
In his confusion, an illusion rapidly descended from the sky. The figure wielding the Heaven-Slaying Blade arrived at the scene and slashed directly down.
The Guardian Gods engaged in the melee all changed their expressions, hastily retreating without a moment’s hesitation. Yet one of them was slightly slower, and the Heaven-Slaying Blade slashed straight at him.
The First God’s expression changed as he swiftly struck, sending out a light that collided with the Heaven-Slaying Blade, only to be shattered.
But this brief moment allowed the strong Guardian God some respite, frantically retreating, thus narrowly escaping the fate of being slain by the Heaven-Slaying Blade.
All these strongest gathered by the First God’s side, watching the newcomer cautiously.
The newcomer was the Heaven Slayer, gripping the Heaven-Slaying Blade, standing beside the Buddha Venerable with a calm expression, revealing nothing of his feelings.
The First God furrowed his brow too; the Heaven Slayer was the strongest among the strongest. With him personally here, even if the Guardian Gods had more numbers, they couldn’t win. If they really fought, the Guardian Gods would suffer significant losses.
Glancing at the Buddha Venerable, then at the Heaven Slayer, the First God spoke in a deep voice, "Should I call you Heaven Slayer, or perhaps Buddha Venerable’s incarnation?"
With a serene expression, the Heaven Slayer softly replied, "The Buddha Venerable and I are two lives of one, without distinction between main body and sub-body."
The First God sneered, "Really? Back then, the Buddha Venerable slashed you like discarding trash. This two-life-one-body of yours, your treatment is quite poor, isn’t it?"
The Heaven Slayer glanced at the First God, "First God, after being locked in the Immortal Palace for so many years, is stir trouble all you can do? If so, you’re really disappointing me. You Guardian Gods are truly no match for us Human Clan!"
The First God’s face turned cold as he spoke sharply, "Heaven Slayer, don’t be too arrogant. Do you even see how many strong Guardian Gods we have? Also, we have one Heavenly Venerable. You should know what a Heavenly Venerable means. Once this Heavenly Venerable takes action, that’s when your Human Clan is wiped out!"
"Heh..." the Taoist Venerable sneered disdainfully, "It’s not like we haven’t killed a Heavenly Venerable. Of the Ancient Seven Heavenly Venerables, six died by our hands. Only one sprout remains; I advise him to remain hidden. Otherwise, if even this last Heavenly Venerable dies, your Guardian Gods will really have nothing left!"
"Hmph, the previous six were killed by your vile schemes. This seventh Heavenly Venerable is doing something really important. Once he finishes, your Human Clan will be annihilated!" the First God coldly replied, "You won’t kill another Heavenly Venerable!"
"I hope your words bring luck to your Heavenly Venerable." The Taoist Venerable laughed heartily, "If we turn around and kill him, it won’t be a pretty sight."
The First God’s face turned icy as he looked at the Heaven Slayer, gritting his teeth, "Heaven Slayer, I never expected you would come to this Ancient Battlefield. Hmph, since you are here, we will spare the Buddha and Taoist Venerables’ lives. But your Human Clan will have to pay a price!"
"Your Guardian Gods have already taken the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet!" the Heaven Slayer suddenly announced.
"Huh?" The First God paused, utterly confused. He meant the price to be the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet.
He believed the Human Clan had the Human Emperor suppressing the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet for years to prevent them from stealing it. Yet now, they had so easily taken it, an outcome he couldn’t have anticipated.
"Haven’t I told you? We would surely return that half piece of the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet to you." The Taoist Venerable spread his hands, "Why don’t you believe me?"
The First God was utterly puzzled, unable to understand the situation. The Human Clan had suppressed this half piece of the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet for hundreds of thousands of years; now, the strongest had returned. Shouldn’t they guard it more closely? Why suddenly give it back?
"First God, still want to fight?" the Heaven Slayer impatiently asked, "If you want, let’s continue; stop wasting time!"
