Chapter 2792: Withered Tree, Green Leaf
This is a giant tree that has already died, and it is very large. In fact, Su Yang vaguely felt that this giant tree is even larger than Qi’er’s World Tree.
However, the branches of this giant tree have lost their vitality and have been dead for a long time, with most of the twigs having fallen off.
Yet, this very giant tree gives Su Yang a very familiar feeling.
Su Yang looked at this giant tree, as if something inside it was calling to him. This feeling was very strange.
After walking around the giant tree for a while, Su Yang didn’t find anything special, but that feeling did not diminish in the slightest.
Why does he feel such a familiar aura here?
Moreover, the key is that Su Yang can’t remember where he had sensed such an aura before. Anyway, it felt exceptionally familiar, almost instinctively familiar, like memories etched into his bones, very strange.
After pondering for a moment, Su Yang simply climbed up the giant tree, making his way up along the trunk.
After all, in this forest, Su Yang had nothing else to do, so he might as well investigate why he felt like this here.
This giant tree is very large, even larger than Qi’er’s World Tree.
However, in this forest, Su Yang’s speed was greatly enhanced. Otherwise, he would not have been able to traverse this forest.
Even so, after climbing for several years, Su Yang was still unable to see the top of this tree.
Given Su Yang’s current cultivation, these several years were nothing. He had no intention of stopping, continuing to climb up the tree. He wanted to see what was at the top of this tree!
After climbing for another dozen years, Su Yang suddenly found that a huge fork had appeared above on the giant tree, splitting into two branches.
And at that branch, there was actually a green leaf swaying.
Su Yang was taken aback. How could there still be a green leaf on this tree that had been dead for so long?
However, when he saw that green leaf, Su Yang only felt a turmoil in his mind. For some reason, he felt an indescribable sadness in his heart, as if he had lost everything, a feeling that was extremely uncomfortable.
Su Yang was even more puzzled in his heart, this tree gave him such a strange feeling. That familiar feeling, and the sorrow when seeing the green leaf, all came too suddenly, too bizarrely, as if they were memories etched in his bones. But, Su Yang just couldn’t remember anything, what on earth was going on?
Could it be that he hadn’t fully recovered his former memories?
But, after his last retreat, Su Yang had already recovered all his former memories. He knew about being born together with Buddha Venerable and others, and also knew about giving the Undying Golden Body and Undying Bone to Buddha Venerable. Su Yang remembered everything after that, with no memories of this place, nor of the dead tree and green leaf, what on earth was going on?
Filled with astonishment and unable to understand what was going on, Su Yang simply decided to continue climbing.
Relying solely on himself, he figured there’s no way to recall these things. But with this strange feeling here, perhaps he could try climbing up to see if he could find any valuable clues.
Having climbed to the fork, Su Yang finally discovered that the green leaf was actually growing on a section of tender branch.
This tender branch grew at the place where the tree branched out. It was unknown how, but although the whole tree was dead, this section of the tender branch seemed like newly born twigs, without the slightest sign of wilting.
And the green leaf, swaying above this tender branch, looked particularly miraculous.
Su Yang stared at this tender branch and green leaf for a long time, his heart continuously filled with a sense of sorrow. However, no matter how he tried to recall, he was unable to remember anything.
This section of memory seemed as if it had been removed by someone. Or perhaps the body had a reflexive reaction, but he truly couldn’t recall this memory.
"Why do I feel familiar? Why do I feel such sorrow?" Su Yang looked at the green leaf, softly asking, hoping to get some response.
The green leaf swayed lightly, giving no answer, or in other words, it couldn’t understand and had no ability to communicate with people.
"Alas!" Su Yang sighed, wanting to ask this green leaf was simply impossible.
"Forget it, I’ll climb up further and see if I can find anything special!" Su Yang looked up towards the sky, the top of the giant tree still out of sight.
However, Su Yang wasn’t in a hurry, since he had nothing else to do now. Having climbed this far, he was determined to reach the top, and see if there were any special discoveries along the way.
Continuing to climb upwards, who knew how many years he climbed, one hundred years, or two hundred, or even three hundred years.
Finally, Su Yang reached the top of this giant tree.
Just like the top of the previous World Tree, the branches here extended far and wide. However, there were no green leaves on these branches, everywhere there were gaps, and one could easily fall from these branches if not careful.
Su Yang gazed into the distance, and found that other giant trees were just the same. These giant trees, in this place, were not miniaturized, they were all complete in size.
This was different from the World Tree Su Yang saw in the Feather Spirit Palace.
The World Tree in the Feather Spirit Palace had been miniaturized. Therefore, Su Yang was able to reach the top of the World Tree in such a short time.
However, these dead trees now were like complete World Trees, incredibly vast. Each giant tree seemed capable of birthing Three Thousand Great Worlds!
Looking at these Heaven-Reaching Giant Trees, a thought suddenly arose in Su Yang’s mind: "Could these Heaven-Reaching Giant Trees all be World Trees?"
As soon as this idea appeared, Su Yang was directly startled. If all these giant trees were World Trees, that would indeed be an earth-shattering event.
So many World Trees, how many worlds would that birth?
In fact, Su Yang and the others knew only of the Three Thousand Great Worlds, and had never heard of other Great Worlds. In other words, no other World Trees existed.
Thinking this in his heart, Su Yang’s expression grew even more solemn when looking at these giant trees.
Because the Three Thousand Great Worlds were only the ones they currently knew about. But whether there truly were only Three Thousand Great Worlds, that was hard to say.
Even the strongest like the Heaven Slayer had no idea that such a place existed within the Chaos. Naturally, they also didn’t know that this place had countless Heaven-Reaching Giant Trees resembling World Trees. Perhaps there really were other World Trees, other worlds, and they had no idea!
