Chapter 2991: Su Yang’s Discovery

Su Yang shook his head, "I don’t quite think so. This might be a trap, but it might not have been set by the Seven Supreme Beings."

Qi’er and the Confuser exchanged glances, both not understanding what Su Yang meant by this.

Su Yang explained, "This could be a trap, but the Seven Supreme Beings likely don’t have the capability to set such a trap; rather, it already exists."

"If the Seven Supreme Beings had the ability, they would’ve trapped us long ago; why let the Guardian God end up like this?"

"It’s possible that the Seven Supreme Beings already knew about this trap and deliberately led us here."

Qi’er nodded, "That’s true."

"If the Seven Supreme Beings had the skill to set such a trap, they would’ve directly killed us instead of trapping us here."

"How about we keep walking around here and see if we can find another way out?"

The Confuser nodded, "Let’s walk around and see."

The three continued to walk in this Overlapping Space.

With each step, the surrounding environment changes, but no matter how it changes, they remain in this space, just appearing in different places within it.

However, Su Yang was unhurried, constantly focusing on feeling everything around him.

Especially with every step, he wanted to carefully sense the feeling of that space passage.

Yet, no matter how Su Yang perceived, he couldn’t feel this space passage.

It was as if this space passage simply didn’t exist at all, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not find this space passage.

They continued walking for an unknown duration, and the Confuser was the first to break down.

"Forget it, I’m not walking anymore."

"Su Alliance Leader, there’s simply no method to leave this place."

"Continuing to walk is useless; we’ll only be trapped here!"

The Confuser said with despair.

Qi’er looked exasperated, "Confuser, how can you have so little patience?"

"What if you don’t walk?"

"Would you be willing to be trapped here forever?"

"Are you, really?"

The Confuser replied helplessly, "I don’t want to be trapped here either!"

"But now, what options do we have?"

"Su Alliance Leader, do you think we could get out of here?"

"Whether this trap was set by the Seven Supreme Beings or not, it certainly has something to do with them. Since they led us into this trap, it means they’re confident they can keep us trapped here."

"Continuing to walk here is meaningless, we simply can’t get out of here!"

Qi’er, overly angry, replied, "You..."

Su Yang waved his hand, interrupting Qi’er.

"Confuser, I understand how you feel."

"But, as Qi’er said."

"If we don’t walk, we’ll have to stay here forever."

"Walking around here, perhaps there’s still some hope."

"Whatever the case, we can’t give up!"

"Even if there’s just a glimmer of hope, we must strive to try, right?"

Su Yang said softly.

The Confuser looked at Su Yang, then at Qi’er, clutching his head with a painful expression, "I... I know what you mean, but I really can’t see where the hope is."

Su Yang smiled gently, "That’s just because you haven’t seen it. Actually, I have some ideas!"

"Oh? What ideas?"

Qi’er and the Confuser asked simultaneously, even Qi’er was feeling somewhat broken and desperate inside.

Su Yang looked around and said softly, "Have you noticed, after walking so long, that this place is actually quite special?"

"What’s special?" Both looked around, surprised. They really hadn’t seen anything special about it.

Su Yang chuckled softly, "This place used to be a part of some space, forcibly cut off by immense power, creating this space."

"Moreover, if you observe closely, you will see that there are traces of battle at the edges of this space."

"But, there are no battle traces within this space!"

"What does this tell us?"

Qi’er and the Confuser looked carefully at this space and found, indeed, as Su Yang said. There were some battle traces on the edge of the space, albeit very few and small, requiring meticulous observation to discover them.

But inside this space, there were no traces of battle at all, which seemed very odd.

"What’s going on?" Qi’er wondered, "Why are there battle traces only at the edges, and none inside this space?"

"It doesn’t make sense; anyone entering such a space would surely resist and struggle."

"Regardless of who it is, being trapped in such space, they would definitely find ways to escape. Either by tearing the space or using massive power to destroy it."

"No matter what the situation, whatever means they use, they would leave battle traces. Why is there no trace in this space at all?"

The Confuser was perplexed, "Could it be that the person trapped inside was completely crushed and killed, becoming a corpse, hence no resistance?"

Qi’er immediately rebutted, "That’s nonsense!"

"If they were dead, why seal them?"

"Setting up such a space surely isn’t easy."

"Why go through such efforts to seal a corpse? What’s the point?"

The Confuser scratched his head, looking embarrassed and confused, "So what’s going on?"

Qi’er looked at Su Yang, still unable to comprehend the situation.

Su Yang still focused on observing the surroundings, speaking softly, "There’s only one possibility, the person trapped inside doesn’t resist!"

"What?" Qi’er and the Confuser exclaimed simultaneously, what kind of statement was this?

"How could they not resist?"

"If they wouldn’t resist, there’d be no need to trap them here."

"Su Alliance Leader, this is not a plausible possibility, it just can’t be!"

The Confuser murmured.

Su Yang laughed softly, glanced at Qi’er, speaking gently, "Qi’er, there’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask you."

Qi’er, "What question?"

Su Yang, "Do you remember the many small palaces in your Feather Spirit Palace? Each palace sealed with many Black Shadows?"

Qi’er nodded, puzzled, "I remember, what’s the matter?"

Su Yang asked, "What’s the origin of those Black Shadows?"

Qi’er, "They were released by the Guardian God, we don’t know their exact origin."

"However, we named those Black Shadows ’Soul Devourers!’"
