Xie Rong frowned. "What? Did this husband do something wrong again, Furen?"

"Your eyes... get a grip." Wang Gege clenched her teeth as she warned him. "If you want to ruin yourself, go ahead. Just make sure I am not involved..."

Xie Rong blinked, finally remembering that his blindfold was still hanging loosely around his neck rather than covering his eyes.

He instinctively reached for it. "Furen is worried about this husband?"

"I am worried about myself!" Wang Gege glared at him. "If Qing’er saw your eyes just now, how am I supposed to explain that to her?"

Xie Rong paused. "Then this husband will simply tell her the truth."

"Absolutely not!" Her voice immediately rose.

Xie Rong stared at her for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his lips. "Furen is still protecting this husband."

"I am protecting myself from getting dragged into another disaster!" She turned toward the entrance, already feeling a headache coming. "Put your blindfold back on before someone else sees you."

Xie Rong obediently reached for the blindfold.

He suddenly stopped, and Wang Gege turned slightly toward him.

"And can you stop calling me Furen and referring to yourself as this husband?" Her expression twisted slightly. "Now that I know your identity, it feels disgusting to my ears."

Xie Rong’s hand froze around the blindfold. "Disgusting...?"

"Yes." She crossed her arms.

"You are Ethan Xu, and I am Wang Gege. We used to talk normally. Hearing you constantly call me Furen and yourself this husband now feels..." She grimaced. "I don’t know how to explain it. It just sounds incredibly strange."

Xie Rong lowered his gaze for a moment.

"Then what should this husband—" He stopped himself.

Wang Gege’s eyes narrowed.

Xie Rong immediately corrected himself. "What should I call you?"

"Just call me... you..." She rolled her eyes. "As you usually call me. ’You.’"

Xie Rong blinked. "Just ’you’?"

"Yes."

He stared at her for a moment before his expression slowly turned somewhat aggrieved. "Do you hate me... so much?"

Wang Gege looked at him. "Do you really need to ask?"

Xie Rong’s lips pressed together.

"I suppose this husband—" He stopped himself again when he saw her expression. "I suppose I deserve that."

Wang Gege snorted softly and turned away. "At least you are finally learning."

Xie Rong looked at her back, a faint smile appearing despite the ache in his chest.

"Then I will learn." He lifted the blindfold and slowly tied it over his eyes. "Even if you hate me, this husband—"

He stopped himself again, remembering her warning, "Even if you hate me, I will still learn and try to win your heart back."

Ding!

[SYSTEM WARNING]

[The Target’s Favorability is currently unstable. The system recommends that the Host claim the current Favorability Points and convert them into Time Points first.]

’How much is left?’

His question seemed to leave Gemi speechless for a moment. It took several seconds before the system finally responded.

[CURRENT FAVORABILITY POINTS: 25]

’So... five minutes?’

There was another brief silence.

[AFFIRMATIVE.]

Xie Rong’s fingers slowly tightened.

Five minutes.

After everything he had gone through, after finally finding Wang Gege again, he only had five minutes to change the past.

’Can I store the redeemed time?’ he asked.

[AFFIRMATIVE.]

Xie Rong’s expression remained thoughtful. So he did not have to use it immediately.

That was good.

His fingers slowly tightened around the blindfold.

’Then store it.’

[PROCESSING...]

[25 FAVORABILITY POINTS HAVE BEEN CONVERTED.]

[TIME POINTS: 5 MINUTES]

[TIME POINTS SUCCESSFULLY STORED.]

Xie Rong quietly exhaled.

The situation was no longer as simple as he had initially thought. He needed to consider his options carefully before using those five minutes.

After all, once they were spent, he might not get another chance. He could not afford to waste them on a decision made in haste.

"What are you doing?" Wang Gege turned around when she noticed that he had not followed her yet.

"Talking to Gemi..." Xie Rong replied, no longer making any attempt to hide it.

"Where?" She looked around, seemingly searching for the little bee-like system she was accustomed to seeing whenever Mini appeared.

"Here..." Xie Rong pointed to his temple.

Wang Gege blinked.

"Are you looking for a little bee?" He tilted his head slightly. "Gemi cannot appear in that form. Half of it is connected to my right eye."

Despite the hatred she had poured out only a minute ago, Wang Gege’s mouth eventually formed a small O of surprise.

"So... the blue thing in your eye is actually a part of the system?"

"Hmm..." Xie Rong answered with a quiet hum as he walked past her. "Gemi cannot appear in that form because of me."

He continued toward the entrance. "Let’s go to the main hall."

Wang Gege quickly hurried after him, trying to match his long strides.

"I have a question..." Her voice was slightly shaky as she walked faster to keep up with him.

"What is it?" Xie Rong stopped immediately, causing her to nearly bump into his back.

He turned around to face her, his voice becoming gentle again.

"What do you want to ask?"

Seeing how attentive he had suddenly become, Wang Gege pressed her lips together hesitantly.

"Never mind..."

She turned, ready to walk away, but Xie Rong reached out and caught her arm.

"If you wanted to ask how this happened..." he said, already guessing what had been on her mind. "Xie Rong died on that battlefield a year ago, and his right eye was ruined."

He paused, lightly touching the area around his right eye.

"After I completed my first mission, I was able to restore the sight in this eye with the help of a part of Gemi’s body."

Wang Gege’s eyes widened slightly. "It was one of the rewards?"

He looked at her calmly. "Yes... this blue eye is partly Gemi."

"You said ’a year ago’..." Wang Gege’s brows furrowed as she tried to connect his words with what he had just told her. "Does that mean you’ve been here for a year already?"

"Yes. It has been a year for me."

"How?!" Wang Gege’s eyes widened. "Wait, you are saying you died after me and transmigrated here afterward, right? But I’ve only been here for a little over a month!"

Xie Rong looked at her, equally confused. "Yes. I died after you."

"Then how did you arrive here a year before me?" One more question coming out from Wang Gege’s mouth.

Xie Rong fell silent for a moment.

"I don’t know."

He had never questioned it before because, to him, waking up in Xie Rong’s body had simply been the beginning of his second life.

"When I opened my eyes, I was already here. I later learned that Xie Rong had died on the battlefield a year before you arrived."

Wang Gege’s eyes widened. "So... you transmigrated into his body one year before I came here?"

"Yes."

She stared at him, slowly processing the information.

Neither of them had known the other would transmigrate. Neither had known they would meet again.

Yet somehow, their arrivals in this world had been separated by exactly one year.

Wang Gege remained silent for a moment, still trying to process the strange coincidence.

"Then... about that Favorability..." She turned toward him, her brows furrowing. "Why did it choose me?"
