Sword of the Philosopher

Mountain Fortress

First, it is the mountains of the cliffs that extend to the left and right of the fortress. With the same view going on as far as I can see, this does seem difficult to invade from elsewhere. Demons and demons can fly through the sky, but that's the same for their opponents, so the offense is tough if they don't end up crushing bases and securing dominant areas.

And a fortress that exists directly in front of you...... that's pretty big. I can also say the border guarding post, but I can imagine that the fort built along the mountain skin is terribly large, and I see this will not be easy to break through.

"Mr. Luon, do you see the gate?

"Oh."

The entrance gates are naturally closed… a heavy iron gate, furthermore surrounded by demons and the like, which feels like there is a willingness to eliminate those approaching.

"That's a good number of enemies... naturally there are demons in the fort, right?

"Yeah, but I guess it doesn't mean it's all strong. For example, the ability to strengthen the body with magic is much smaller."

... still a threat compared to humans though.

"If we get close to the gate... the area of Bizel is near the mountain skin in the first place. As soon as you step in there, the devil will fly in. Under the circumstances, we have to fight a siege… It shouldn't be impossible to control the demons if we put in a large number of them, but at that point we will be exhausted and it will be difficult to maintain the strength to attack Bizell's stronghold."

Yeah, that's just octave... that's where me and Sophia come in.

"Destroy the gate first. Fold up where you were floating and take control of the fort."

"Is there anything else I can do?

Sophia asks. Croix thought a little,

"As long as we can break through the entrance, I think we can do enough offense here..."

"But I don't want to reduce my power as much as possible, because there is, right?

Croix also has to snort at the confirmation inquiry.

"Then what about me and Master Luon infiltrating the fort?

"Standing around doesn't make it that much of a problem if you're fighting anywhere your allies won't see you,"

When I follow Sophia, Croix will ask for confirmation.

"Both of you, okay?

And we nodded at the same time, and now this one speaks.

"So, it's an operation... if Croix is going to storm, I think the enemy will set a target for you."

I speak in my head assuming enemy movements.

"I will enter the fort in that gap and defeat the Commander's enemies."

"Do you mean I'm positive?"

"Right. Nevertheless, if Croix showed up on the scene, the enemy would also be considerably tempered to set it up. If we destroy those enemies, we'll be blurred.

Soon after, Croix laughed bitterly. You think and fight that far...... I could read those emotions.

"Okay, let's get on it because the plan looks good. But the circumstances of the war must change how we respond to our enemies."

"Right. We'll have to deal with that in due course."

Nevertheless, as far as I'm concerned, it's never pessimistic. Even if the fortress has considerable strength, it does not extend to this one who became an army and attacked it. If only we broke through the gate, the first gate, we would be able to do enough to crush it with a difference in power.

I look at the fortress again. Robust walls and gates show overwhelming signs of rejection of all who come. Indeed, even if Croix and the others were the only ones able to break through in that kind of way, the damage would be enormous. We won't even have a showdown with the Bizels.

"Sophia, let's get started"

"Yes."

Nodding, me and Sophia hold hands. And I started boosting my magic.

Fusion magic - I or Sophia alone may be able to destroy the gate, but this is the result of wanting to make it more certain than it probably also has a magic barrier or something. Yet there are some thoughts that it would be less alert to pose as "I have to do this much reclining" around me.

The magic you use is the same 'Divine Road' that you unleashed on Widels' troops - narrowing down the range of effects even further than you did before, adjusting it so that it only affects the area around the gate... I could make some adjustments on this in the run-up to the war.

There is no time limit this time, and yet there are zero signs of set-up from the other side, so we can do it slowly… and showed that a few demons are flying on the mountain and wary of this one.

"You want to come over here?

"This is still my territory. Basically Bizel doesn't try to invade any other realm... looks like the same this time. You won't be attacking me."

"Is that for any reason?

"I don't want to do the act of invading from myself... I didn't set it up from me as a more political position, I guess I just want to take the form of defense... until it's unclear if Bizel himself has a reason"

... It doesn't seem strange for reasons like, for example, "Bizel can't leave his territory due to constraints".

"Is it possible that Bizell has a situation and doesn't leave the territory?

"There is also no zero chance, for example, that magic is stretched in the territory and when you go out of the territory it collapses... But if it's a massive magic trick, I'm sure you'll notice it, but it could be enough."

I know you'd know just fine if you were using magic on the whole territory... can I keep my assumptions in mind? It's a battle you'll never lose, and I've never been over to be careful.

Me and Sophia work silently, and eventually the magic converges completely. In the meantime, the Bizel side doesn't move at all. It's just a defensive setup.

"Croix, it's done."

"All right, wait for the timing of the attack by the Aemer side"

Sounds like some kind of signal will get to Croix... but if Amel doesn't move now, it's about to get stuck.

"Do you know how Amel is currently moving?

"Somewhat. We keep going south, and we're finally approaching Bizell territory."

After answering that, Croix cut the words once,

"You'll probably use it for a day with this fortress offense. Plus a few days to rendezvous with Amel. But this is about Amel breaking through enemy forces without a problem."

"... the Bizel side leans its power on the Aemer side, don't they?

"Oh. The plains are spreading on the north side, which should inevitably thicken your power."

"What if Amel struggles?

"We're on our way to the rescue. It's harder than dropping Bizell's castle with this gesture alone."

… but will the Bizel side also take the appropriate measures while doing it? I know it's a battle with time since I entered the other's territory, but how far can it go smoothly?

Um, on second thought, this might have to work harder for me or Sophia than I imagined. However, we need to be cautious because we may be wary of demons who don't know what's going on when they get too flashy.

"Croix, please give me a signal when you're ready"

"Oh."

He looks to the fortress as he responds. I guess I'm just thinking about how he fights himself.

Troops are deploying around and starting to prepare for battle. Me and Sophia watched those sights and waited for Amel and the others to start fighting.

Nevertheless, the time didn't take that long...... roughly when fifteen minutes passed?

"... the momentum of the march seems to have begun Amel."

Croix smiles bitterly. Do you still feel impotent?

"Beyond has begun...... Mr. Luon"

"Oh. Sophia, let's go"

"Yes!"

With the reply, we increase our magic all at once - the battle against Bizel has finally begun.
