Sword of the Philosopher
Persuasion and acceptance
"It's true you're saying that you're unscrupulous."
and Reese continues to Emena with a laugh.
"I'm asking you to help me get out of the castle. Besides, we just met today, and even though how many princesses and heroes from other countries are opponents, we can't help but bring distrust"
"… no, I understand the purpose rather than what you want to say"
Emena mentions Sophia and Liese.
"It's more important to identify that firmly than to incorporate technology. You both want raw information, because you can understand."
"But the response seems harsh."
"... what if I say no?
"Don't worry, I'll look for an opportunity to touch technology in another way. I will act arbitrarily because you said no, for God's sake. It would be detrimental to behave suspiciously in the first place."
Emena nods cocklessly. He seemed to know for a second that we weren't impotent.
"Honestly, I'm not asking for this. Naturally your father...... the king won't shake his head vertically and neither will the two princes agree. But being a little closer to me and Sophia from the standpoint... you, me and Sophia thought it was possible"
"I'm not going to force you"
Here, Sophia gently tells Emena.
"Even as us, I know you're making a compelling request. It's just that you, who seem to be able to shake these stories, apparently leave this castle within a few days… and when you hear it, you want to act immediately, which is why I suggested abruptly today."
"I may be concerned about our safety, but I'm not worried about it at all."
Leese says in a way that goes on further.
"You know more about me and Sophia's prowess than you've heard. Plus, the presence of the hero Luon... doesn't mean the whole town is in danger, does it? We'll protect you."
"… indeed, safety considerations are necessary."
"Yeah, it's an imposing favor, but I was wondering if you'd listen to me."
So, silence arises. Only pray for success after that, huh?
We wait silently for a response. What should we do as Emena... if we are going to consider the country, would it be more profitable to agree?
I think it's a pretty good kind of way to turn things around. Suddenly rolling out to the town at night may indeed be unscrupulous... but only in such a place can we probably step inside Emena.
Well, what happens...... eventually, Emena opens her mouth.
"First of all, that's right... I think it's possible to act without people noticing. It's after the get-together, and no one will ever turn to you. I know you're tired, and I don't think there's anything like visiting a room"
"Right. The king wants you to rest, and people won't come."
I can't say it's absolute... but is this a story I need to tell Eina and I to do it right?
Ma, I don't care about this neighborhood... and Emena concludes.
"Okay. If that's for our country."
That's settled...... it just seems like she looks somewhere, shady to say so after all.
Maybe there's another factor that we don't know and we accepted this request... maybe...
"So let's get this thing started."
Emena starts explaining the steps to see if they have stepped down. Then we left the guest room in no time.
"First of all, success."
"If this failed, I would have held my head."
Leese talks as she shrugs her shoulders. That being said, I didn't feel good about it. Failure... doesn't mean that the bond between us and Princess Emena was in vain at all.
We'll go back to the room once, and then we'll begin our mission. On the face of it, get ready for bed. Actually, I'm ready to go outside... but I'll explain to Eina and Fili, and I'll leave them to the castle while we're away.
One thing to fear is if you have a mastermind planning to kidnap Emena in the castle… are you watching her, or are you paying attention to our movements? It just doesn't look like the wind making those observations with magic or anything, or at least I didn't feel that kind of gaze as far as I could analyze it. I'll ask Katie or something about the area, just in case.
"There's magic hanging in this castle, it doesn't seem like anything like it. No magic about security."
"... I don't know if I'm very alert about this one"
"More than that, this country is politically stable, and there's no dispute between countries... if it's a country with no enemies, isn't this normal?
That's the way I see it... or maybe we were just being weird and vigilant.
Anyway, there's no movement on the mastermind who plans to kidnap the princess. Then while you're at it, let me act.
From there, me, Sophia, and the three of Leese act on Emena's steps. That makes it possible for us to rendezvous with Emena without a soldier or anything. And leave the castle.
I don't know what I'm going to do to get to town... but they're going to use the underground passage. It was built to connect the castle to the town in a discreet way, and although it is not everyday, it seems to be quite used, and she leads us to the aisle in the footsteps she is accustomed to.
It feels like we could use it on the evacuation route if we had to... eventually get to town. In the dark, no one could tell we were coming out of the underground corridor.
Here I am at night checking Sophia and the others' outfits. Each wears a travel outfit and a robe of discreet shades about Emena.
"... is it possible that the Princess's presence will be recognised? I don't think we should cause a commotion."
Emena on these words,
"It's okay. I'm not in public yet, and if I don't run into the nobles... it's unlikely I'll see them all over town, because I'm dressed differently. Otherwise, I won't show you."
Well... we start walking for a bright spot. Sleepless town... it seems we are headed to a downtown place, and people's voices and clutter have been in our ears a long time since we got there.
