Chapter 137 - 57: Jiang Li Is Pregnant, Booking a First-Class Flight Home

However, that idea was dead on arrival the moment she sat down in first class.

’Who on earth said the seats were more or less the same? Economy and first class weren’t comparable at all.’

There were leather seats that could even recline into beds. Not only was it spacious, but it was also very private. There was even dedicated service from the flight attendants—it was the ultimate indulgence.

As soon as she boarded, a flight attendant came over with a hot towel.

Jiang Li wiped her hands, and after glancing at her surroundings, she couldn’t help but nod to herself.

’No wonder it’s so much more expensive than economy. It’s definitely worth it.’

There were disposable slippers, a throw pillow, a blanket, and a mini-fridge stocked with drinks and alcohol, along with some seasonal fruit.

Shen Yanzhi’s seat was right next to Jiang Li’s, separated by an aisle. Once the privacy curtain was drawn, you couldn’t see a thing.

It was no wonder so many celebrities chose to fly first class. Not only could they avoid being disturbed, but they could also get some proper rest.

After all, being a celebrity meant constantly rushing to different engagements, leaving them with almost no time to rest.

Once Jiang Li had finished her inspection, Shen Yanzhi asked, "Do you want to get some sleep?"

Jiang Li yawned. "I am a little sleepy."

’Before she found out she was pregnant, she’d just thought the nice weather here was what was making her so drowsy.’

’Now she finally knew: pregnant women need a lot of sleep.’

Shen Yanzhi got up and helped Jiang Li adjust her seat, turning it into a flat bed. "Go on and sleep. I’m right here, so just call me if you need anything."

Jiang Li looked at Shen Yanzhi, a little surprised. Although he was always considerate, it felt like he was being even more attentive now.

Jiang Li waved at him. "I know, I know. Go back to your seat."

Using the throw pillow as a pillow and covered with the blanket, she drifted off to sleep in no time.

She woke up again when a flight attendant was serving lunch.

If Shen Yanzhi hadn’t been worried that Jiang Li would get hungry, he wouldn’t have even let the flight attendant disturb her.

The night before, he had scoured various online platforms and compiled a list of important reminders on his phone.

One point was especially important: pregnant women shouldn’t be allowed to go hungry.

Jiang Li had flown before, and the in-flight meals were usually just bread, crackers, or some instant noodles.

This was the first time lunch had been so lavish. And what’s more, it was all food she loved.

What she didn’t know was that Shen Yanzhi had ordered all of it. Otherwise, how could it have possibly suited her tastes so perfectly?

Seeing Jiang Li sit up, Shen Yanzhi, who had been watching her closely, asked, "How are you feeling? Anything uncomfortable?"

Jiang Li didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Come on, I’m only one month along. You don’t have to be so dramatic."

"How is this dramatic?" A thought occurred to him, and he added, "If my parents knew, they’d probably be even more over-the-top than me."

Jiang Li swallowed nervously. One Shen Yanzhi was already more than she could handle. Adding Jiang Manshu and Shen Yugang to the mix... just the thought gave her a headache.

She asked tentatively, "Then... maybe we shouldn’t tell them yet?"

Her suggestion reminded him of a post he’d seen online the day before. "I heard that it’s best not to tell anyone before the three-month mark."

Jiang Li tilted her head, looking skeptical. "Is there some kind of superstition about that?"

"They say the pregnancy is less stable before the three-month mark."

Jiang Li’s eyes lit up. "Then let’s just wait until after the three-month mark to tell them! It’s not like we’re in a huge rush."

’She’d take any delay she could get.’

Shen Yanzhi let out a breath. "Alright."

He was just worried he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from blurting it out. After all, besides marrying Jiang Li, this was the second-happiest event of his life.

The flight was over ten hours long, and by the time they landed, it was noon the next day.

Since they were in first class, they didn’t even have to fight the crowds and were able to deplane as soon as the aircraft landed.

While they were getting their luggage, Shen Yanzhi asked, "Do you want to eat at home or go out?"

Jiang Li thought for a moment. "Let’s eat at home. I’m actually craving our home chef’s cooking."

"Perfect. The food should be ready by the time we get home."

Jiang Li asked suspiciously, "What do you mean? You already had them start cooking?"

"Mhm, I gave Xie Wan our flight details ahead of time."

"And you weren’t worried I might want to eat out?"

Shen Yanzhi smiled and explained, "That’s why I’m asking you now. If we decided not to eat at home, I would’ve just told them to handle it themselves."

Jiang Li nodded, satisfied. "That’s so you. You even had a backup plan."
