Jiang Li was thoroughly satisfied with the meal. Wiping her mouth, she said, "Xie Wan, take Mr. Gu home in a bit."

Xie Wan nodded. "Okay."

Gu Mingyuan waved his hand dismissively. "There’s no need to go to all that trouble. I can have my driver come pick me up."

Jiang Li disagreed. "You came out with me, so it’s my responsibility to see you home."

Shen Yanzhi chimed in at the perfect moment. "Just let Xie Wan take you. It’s not very safe for us men out late at night, you know."

There was no shortage of women trying to hit on them or entrap them.

Gu Mingyuan gave Shen Yanzhi a slightly surprised look, then finally turned to Xie Wan and said, "Then I’ll be troubling you, Miss Xie."

A faint smile touched Xie Wan’s lips. "It’s no trouble. It’s part of my job."

Seeing that things were settled, Jiang Li called the waiter over for the bill.

After they got in the car, fastened their seatbelts, and had driven a short distance, Shen Yanzhi casually asked, "How did you meet him?"

Jiang Li answered truthfully, "I attended a charity auction tonight. We met there."

Hearing it was an auction, Shen Yanzhi couldn’t help but ask, "Did you have fun?"

Jiang Li nodded. "It was pretty good. I won bids on quite a few things."

Afraid that Shen Yanzhi would ask how much she had spent, Jiang Li’s eyes darted, and she quickly changed the subject. "Oh, right, my packages have been arriving over the last couple of days. When are we going on our trip?"

The wedding was on February 14, just two months away. With a trip and a wedding photoshoot to do, things were a bit tight.

It was the perfect time to go, though, since her company’s office renovations hadn’t started. Once they did, it wouldn’t be so easy to get away.

Shen Yanzhi’s fingers tapped on the steering wheel. He then pulled the car over to the side of the road and looked at Jiang Li intently. "What if we just up and go?"

He had already prepared the itinerary, after all. He was just waiting for the signal to go.

Jiang Li licked her lips. "Isn’t that a little crazy?"

Shen Yanzhi raised an eyebrow. "If we don’t do something crazy while we’re young, are you planning to wait until we’re old?"

Jiang Li thought about it and realized he was right. She nodded in agreement. "Okay! Let’s just up and go! We’ll head home and pack!"

"As you command."

He immediately took out his phone and booked their tickets.

Back home, they split up to pack. In less than ten minutes, their bags were ready, and they headed straight for the airport.

The moment they settled into their seats on the plane, Jiang Li couldn’t help but remark, "I think we should buy a private jet. That way, we could leave whenever we want, without worrying about schedules or buying tickets."

Shen Yanzhi nodded in agreement. "If you want one, let’s buy one. It’s not like we’re short on cash."

He didn’t know exactly how much money Jiang Li had, but if she could say something like that, she clearly wasn’t worried about the cost.

Jiang Li blinked curiously. "Wait, you’re not going to try and stop me?"

Shen Yanzhi shrugged. "Why would I stop you? It’s not like you can’t afford it."

Jiang Li pursed her lips. "Aren’t you even a little curious how I have so much money?"

Shen Yanzhi thought for a moment, then said seriously, "I admit I’m curious, but as long as you didn’t get it illegally, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to."

Jiang Li let out a long breath. "Shen Yanzhi, you’re just too good."

"I’m good because you are."

Everyone has their secrets. Even as Jiang Li’s husband, he felt he had no right to pry into hers.

Jiang Li was momentarily speechless, not knowing what to say.

Drowsiness suddenly hit her, and after a few yawns, she said, "I’m going to get some sleep."

Shen Yanzhi patted his shoulder. "Need a shoulder to lean on?"

Jiang Li didn’t hesitate, leaning her head on him. "No tip for you, though!"

Shen Yanzhi chuckled softly. "Serving my wife is a job I’ll do for free."

Jiang Li flushed and quickly closed her eyes, feigning sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, a flight attendant was handing out breakfast.

She sat up straight and rubbed her sore neck. As she twisted her head, it made a series of CRACKING sounds.

Hearing the sound, Shen Yanzhi, who had been resting with his eyes closed, snapped them open. Seeing her state, he asked with concern, "Did you sleep on it wrong?"

His voice was still a little hoarse, as he had likely just woken up.

"No, my neck is just a little sore."

"Let me give you a massage."

Shen Yanzhi began massaging her neck as soon as he spoke, not giving Jiang Li a chance to refuse.
