Chapter 105 - 47: Local Guide David, First Stop: Purple Mountain
The first stop of their honeymoon was Europe.
Unlike the chill back in Hua Country, the temperature here in Europe was warm, reaching over twenty degrees.
Never mind a down jacket—you didn’t even need a light coat.
Shen Yanzhi had already booked their hotel and rental car when he bought the plane tickets.
After they got off the plane and left the airport, someone immediately brought the car around.
Shen Yanzhi put their luggage in the trunk, then walked a couple of steps to open the passenger door. He made a welcoming gesture. "Your Highness, please get in."
Jiang Li’s ears flushed, and she couldn’t help but touch them. She chided him playfully, "What are you doing?"
Shen Yanzhi scratched his head. "Isn’t this kind of thing all over the internet right now? I thought you’d like it."
’I mean, I like it, but there’s a time and place for everything.’
’We’re right outside the airport with so many people coming and going. I’m not that shameless.’
She got in the car and fastened her seatbelt. "Don’t do that again. It’s so embarrassing."
Shen Yanzhi gave an almost imperceptible raise of his eyebrows. "Alright, I won’t say it again."
He walked around the car, got in, and pulled up the hotel’s location on his phone’s GPS before driving off.
Jiang Li tossed her coat into the back seat. Dressed more lightly now, she felt much more comfortable.
She adjusted her seat to a comfortable angle and asked enthusiastically, "So, are we going to a photo studio for the wedding pictures, or should we hire a private photographer?"
Shen Yanzhi thought for a moment before offering his opinion. "Let’s find a private photographer and rent a wedding dress. That way, we can get the photos back quickly."
Photo studios weren’t as fast as a private photographer, and they were only staying here for a few days. They couldn’t wait that long.
Besides, a photographer could double as their tour guide.
’Kill two birds with one stone.’
Jiang Li was clearly pleased with Shen Yanzhi’s suggestion. She nodded and unlocked her phone. "Okay, I’ll browse Little Red Book and see if I can find someone."
She opened Little Red Book and looked through some local posts.
She eventually found a local guide from Hua Country who, in addition to tours, also offered photography and makeup services.
Jiang Li wasn’t about to pass up someone so perfect for what they needed.
Using the contact information the user had posted, Jiang Li called him directly. "Hello, I came across your post on Little Red Book. Are you available to take a job right now?"
Hearing her Hua Country accent, the man’s voice grew excited. "Absolutely!"
’Even if I weren’t, I’d have to be now!’
Jiang Li finally let out the breath she’d been holding, relieved she hadn’t been rejected. "Great. Let’s exchange contact info. We’re on our way to our hotel right now."
"Okay, my WeChat ID is my phone number. You can just add me."
After hanging up, Jiang Li copied his phone number and searched for him on WeChat.
When she sent the friend request, she made sure to add a note saying she was the one who had just called.
David (Loves Photography): Hey there! ~
Jiang Li: Hi! (^o^)
Jiang Li: I’m here with my husband. We’d like to take some wedding photos. Would you be available for that?
David (Loves Photography): I can, but just so you know, I don’t provide outfits or props.
Jiang Li: No problem. We just need you for the photography and makeup.
David (Loves Photography): Sounds good.
David (Loves Photography): My rate is two thousand an hour. The photos and makeup are included for free. How much time are you looking for?
Jiang Li: How about two days? I’ll send you a 5,000 deposit first.
After sending the money, Jiang Li asked David if he knew of any good wedding dress shops. They ended up agreeing to meet at one.
’As for why they weren’t resting at the hotel first... she was afraid Shen Yanzhi would turn into a total wolf. It was better to use that time for wedding photos instead.’
After settling on a time and place with David, she informed Shen Yanzhi, "We’ll go straight to the wedding dress shop after we drop off our luggage. David will be waiting for us there."
Shen Yanzhi frowned, his fingers tapping against the steering wheel. "Who’s David?"
Jiang Li explained, "He’s the local guide I just found on Little Red Book. Two thousand an hour, and he provides photography and makeup services for free."
Shen Yanzhi glanced at Jiang Li out of the corner of his eye. "From the name, sounds like a guy?"
It finally dawned on Jiang Li what he was getting at. She asked teasingly, "Is there a problem with him being a guy?"
Shen Yanzhi looked away, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. "It’s not that it’s a problem."
’Jiang Li had gone to the trouble of finding him. If he said no, it would probably spark their first fight since getting married.’
Jiang Li raised an eyebrow. "I thought you might get jealous."
Shen Yanzhi tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "He’s a complete stranger we haven’t even met. What’s there to be jealous of?"
If you ignored the dissatisfaction in his eyes, you might have actually believed him.
Jiang Li clicked her tongue and decided to change the subject. "You know, for someone like me who’s always cold, this weather is just perfect."
