That Ordinary Mister is a War God

42. Out of luck the addition

It was at the emperor's request that Bal came to this city.

Because if the enemy were to target it, it would be an important logistics relay, and it would be a relatively discreet and low priority place.

(Though I don't think it hits me every time like that)

and he came half-heartedly because he ran into a black robe that took a troll with him.

Without that, I might have made the choice of not believing the emperor's speculation and just calling attention to the Adventurer Guild.

The problem is that Bal, who's just an old man who's not even superficial, prepares a reason to leave the capital and come this far.

(I bet you did, but no one asked you)

Although I'm sure it's more convenient not to be asked, I also feel a little rusty even though Meena and I worked hard to think about it.

Well, change your mind. He disappears from public softly without anyone noticing.

I'll be on guard around the city, but I'll see how the first adventurer party works earlier.

(Auga, Oak, Goblin... you're cleaning me out)

With only a few traces left, Bal was able to grasp more or less.

I can also ask that you respond quickly, reliably and obsessively.

At the time of the encounter, fatigue was not particularly scratchy.

(Do you want me to contact the Yereminias guy?)

The first adventurer's job would be concerned as guild general.

If it's a good report, it doesn't matter how much.

Bal moves further with that in mind.

Rivers and forests are cited as easy sources of demons.

Many species prefer whether demons are creatures as well, where there is water and where there is a lot of shelter.

The demons defeated by the "Holy Tree Through the Clouds" seemed to be in a similar place.

(... apparently no abnormality)

And Bal thinks.

Looks like the Emperor's reading just went off this time too.

Most of all, I may have just lost my power to stand and become a little more cautious.

If a first-degree adventurer party were to stay, I decided to change the place by deciding that this neighborhood would be safe.

His powers can also be used to travel, so if you feel like it, you can go home to the Imperial City in a second.

That's the biggest reason he doesn't feel the need to meet metastatic magic.

Aim for places like no first-degree adventurer party or knighthood.

I saw an adventurer engaged with a demon on the way, but I'll leave it to pass without a hand.

I can't help you any more.

But of those, I witness a boy about thirteen and a girl about ten facing one goblin who seems to have strayed from the herd.

The girl was sitting on the ground, crying and shaking, with herbs scattered at her feet.

The boy is desperate to goblin as he stands to cover her.

You won't be able to blame him if his body is trembling with fear.

Goblin laughs proudly at his ugly face, swinging down with a wooden stick in his right hand.

The boy closes his eyes all the time.

I guess it's because I want to protect the girl that I don't run away from.

(You're lucky, boy)

Bal pays Goblin's foot with a blow of light to make him fall momentum well.

Goblins pass out due to the impact of a well-motivated blow to the head.

The boy who was prepared opens his eyes roughly with loud noises and doubts that the pain he had anticipated would not come.

And I just saw a situation where I think Goblin fell and hit him in the head and passed out.

They had solidified for a few seconds, but eventually understood that now was a great chance to escape, and rushed to get the girl up.

After the two desperately gather the herbs, they run out on a scale.

(Have you come to pick up some herbs for someone and run into some unlucky detached goblins?)

That's what Bal expects.

Where the boy and the girl are far apart, he stabs Todome in the stunned goblin and keeps the end of it.

They would talk about how lucky they were to help, even though their parents would piss them off when they got back to the city.

Like the adventurers and the city people tell someone in a liquor store or house, "I thought I couldn't do it anymore, but luckily..."

Some of those are facts, and some were helped by Bal's addition.

Another example will have been added today.
