Seeing them brought back a bitter memory.

Addison clearly remembered how much effort it had taken for her group to kill the ogres they had encountered before. Even with everyone working together, and with Zion, a battle-hardened hero, leading the charge, they had still suffered heavy casualties.

But now there were two ogres.

And the warriors here didn’t have someone like Zion leading them.

At that moment, Addison finally understood everything.

Why the Alpha had changed the battle plan.

Why he was so badly injured that he had to retreat to recover.

Why the shifts were happening so quickly.

The casualties on the front line were simply happening too fast.

"Princess..." the Alpha called out hoarsely.

His voice was rough, strained from both exhaustion and the constant shouting of commands. Even so, he still tried to show the proper courtesy due to her. It was the most he could manage in his current condition.

"As you can see... we’re doing our best," he continued, his breathing heavy. "But the situation here is just—"

His words faltered.

The battlefield beyond the wall already spoke for itself.

Two ogres were rampaging across the front line, and despite the warriors’ efforts, they were barely able to hold their ground. The fact that they were struggling this much made the Alpha feel a heavy pressure on his shoulders.

Unlike Zion, he wasn’t a seasoned, battle-hardened leader.

This was his first true battlefield experience.

And looking at the chaos in front of them, he couldn’t help but question himself.

Was he making the right decisions?

Was he doing enough to protect his people?

For a moment, he didn’t even know what else to say.

"There’s no need to explain," Addison said calmly. "You’re doing just fine. The fact that none of your people have died yet speaks volumes about your leadership."

She paused briefly, her gaze shifting toward the rampaging ogres towering even higher than the wall they stood upon.

"And I won’t hold you accountable for changing the team roster on your own. As the leader here, it was within your authority to adapt to the situation. Those who refuse to bend to circumstances only end up breaking."

Addison gave a small nod. "So yes... you have my commendation."

"But as you can see, Princess... this is our limit." The Alpha spoke through clenched teeth, his voice thick with restrained frustration. "Beyond this, I doubt we can stop those ogres from stepping over our corpses and marching straight to the camp once they tear this wall apart."

His claws tightened unconsciously at his sides.

Only now did he truly realize how powerless he was.

An Alpha... yet he couldn’t even bring down a single ogre with his own strength.

Standing beside the kingdom’s princess, he felt small, humiliated even, as if he had no right to remain at her side on this wall.

"You are doing fine," Addison said calmly.

Her voice cut through his spiraling thoughts with quiet certainty.

"Instead of drowning in self-doubt and blaming yourself, help me choose one warrior and send him to check the northwest wall." Her gaze remained fixed on the battlefield ahead. "That way, we’ll know which side needs reinforcements more."

She knew she had to act now.

With the warbear currently holding the eastern wall, they couldn’t afford to waste even a moment.

The Alpha frowned slightly. He didn’t know the situation on the other walls, and he couldn’t quite grasp what Addison was planning. Still, it was her order.

He turned to one of his warriors and sent a quick mindlink, instructing him to scout the other walls. Once the order was sent, he looked back at Addison—

But she was gone.

A series of gasps erupted from the warriors around him.

Following their stunned gazes, the Alpha’s eyes widened as well.

Addison was no longer standing atop the wall.

She was outside it.

A surge of anticipation mixed with fear clawed at his chest. Everyone had heard stories of the princess’s strength, but few had actually seen it with their own eyes. Yet at the same time, she was the princess, the one giving them orders, the commander of this defense.

A commander was supposed to remain at the rear, directing the battlefield.

Not standing at the very front.

If something happened to her, the entire chain of command could collapse.

Still... what choice did they have?

Only Addison, Zion, and the warriors who had come with them had experience fighting ogres. But after glancing across the warriors stationed along this side of the wall, Addison realized—

None of the warriors here were among those who fought the ogre with her and Zion.

Most of them were likely facing an ogre for the very first time.

Even so, thanks to the Alpha’s leadership, they had managed to hold the line without losing anyone yet. But this... this was already the limit of what they could do.

And now—

Addison stood among them outside the wall.

What none of them knew was that Addison herself had another reason for stepping forward.

She wanted to test the power now coursing through her body—

The strength the mysterious entity had given her after feeding on Levi’s vitality.

"Princess!" the Alpha shouted as he immediately leapt down from the wall, hurrying after Addison.

He couldn’t allow anything to happen to her.

Yes, they had all heard of her strength, but on the battlefield, nothing was ever certain. One wrong move, one misstep, and even the strongest could fall.

The thought alone made his heart tighten with dread.

If anything happened to the princess under his watch, the responsibility would fall squarely on his shoulders. And if the Alpha King learned of it...

A chill ran down his spine.

He feared that not only he, but his entire pack, might be annihilated for such a failure.

That was a fate he absolutely could not allow to happen.

But just as the Alpha was about to reach her, Addison pulled a sword from her magic pouch and suddenly sprinted forward toward the ogre standing thirty meters away from the wall.

Along the way, wild animals and monsters lunged at her from every direction.

Yet Addison never slowed down.

Her blade flashed again and again, slicing through anything that came her way as if she were cutting through soft tofu. Bodies fell behind her with every swing, cleanly cut down before they could even react.

Watching this, the Alpha’s eyes widened in shock.

It was the first time he had ever witnessed Addison’s fighting style.

And what stunned him even more was the fact that she was doing all of this without even shifting into her wolf form.

Meanwhile, Addison herself could feel the overwhelming power surging through her body.

Every movement of her sword felt effortless. Each strike carried terrifying strength, and the monsters that tried to block her path fell as easily as if they were nothing more than fragile obstacles.

She barely needed to exert any real force.

It was clear just how much stronger she had become, thanks to the entity residing within her.

At first, she had only stepped forward to test this unfamiliar power.

But now, as she cut through the battlefield with increasing ease, a growing confidence began to settle within her.
