Chapter 403: So It Turns Out Brother Yuan Is the Real Hidden Big Shot
Having lost both arms, Chen Ping knew he had lost—utterly and completely!
But a crazed look appeared on his face!
He didn't understand where the Warriors who had appeared behind him came from, but none of that mattered anymore!
He had fired a kill shot. Cheng Yuan had to die!
A life for a life—it wasn't such a bad trade!
Chen Ping strained, widening his eyes, hoping to see the arrow pierce Cheng Yuan's throat and watch him die in agony.
As Chen Ping watched, Cheng Yuan slowly reached out, his hand closing on the empty air about eight inches from his throat.
A disdainful look crossed Chen Ping's face. 'Has Cheng Yuan lost his mind?'
'He's actually trying to catch an arrow with his bare hands?'
'Even the Hunting God couldn't do that, could he?'
But the next second, Chen Ping was dumbstruck!
Cheng Yuan's hand snapped shut, firmly catching the arrow as it streaked through the air!
The arrowhead stopped less than two millimeters from his throat!
Those two millimeters were like an uncrossable chasm!
Unfortunately, Wan Liang and the others were cowering on the ground with their hands over their heads. Only He Jing witnessed this moment of breathtaking brilliance!
He Jing trembled with excitement!
'Cheng Yuan is just too incredible!'
'He's worthy of being my man!'
Cheng Yuan gave a wicked little wave of the arrow in Chen Ping's direction, his expression seeming to say, 'Sorry, kid. You're not good enough!'
Chen Ping practically went insane with rage. "Cheng Yuan! I'll haunt you from the grave! I'll tear you apart with my teeth!!"
Like a madman, Chen Ping charged at Cheng Yuan. But how could he possibly be faster than a Celestial Dragon Camp Warrior?
In moments, the Celestial Dragon Camp Warriors caught up and pinned him to the ground!
Meanwhile, Cha Meng, whose arms had also been broken, was subdued by the Celestial Dragon Camp Warriors.
The gunfire came and went in a flash.
Wan Liang and the others cautiously raised their heads to look at one another, completely bewildered.
'What's going on?'
'The gunfire was so intense, even the helicopter was shot down by "friendly fire," so why are we completely unharmed?'
Cheng Yuan gave Wan Liang an annoyed kick. "How long are you going to stay down there? The enemy has been completely annihilated. Get up and take a look."
'The enemy has been completely annihilated?'
Wan Liang and the others exchanged glances, helped each other up, and cautiously peeked over the railing to look outside.
The moment they saw the scene outside, the color drained from their faces!
Outside the camp was nothing short of Purgatory in the Mortal World!
There were bodies everywhere, rivers of blood!
Some had even been blown to pieces, their bodies no longer whole!
The Warriors were methodically clearing the battlefield. Whenever they found someone not yet dead, they delivered a finishing blow without hesitation.
Even though they were all enemies, the sight was too much for them to bear!
HURK! GAG!
The group began to retch uncontrollably!
A full two minutes passed before any color returned to their faces. Then, they began to discuss it excitedly.
"It's strange, where did these Warriors come from? They might seem ruthless, but I think they did the right thing! Every last one of these Demons should be killed!"
"That was terrifying. I really thought we were done for! These Warriors are absolute angels!"
"Brother Yuan, did you know about those Warriors all along? Is that why you were so calm?"
Cheng Yuan grinned. "You could say that."
"Brother Yuan, you're terrible! You knew about the Warriors all along and didn't tell us. We were worried sick for nothing."
"Brother Yuan, how did you spot the Warriors? We didn't notice a thing!"
Cheng Yuan answered truthfully, "They're all my subordinates, here on my orders to set an ambush. It's perfectly normal you didn't notice them."
Everyone rolled their eyes.
Wan Liang laughed. "Brother Yuan, stop messing with us! Judging by their gear, these are definitely not ordinary Warriors! They could be special forces! How could you be their superior officer? You can't just..."
Before he could finish speaking, Pei Jian strode up to Cheng Yuan and saluted with the utmost respect.
"Report, Young Marshal! We've destroyed one helicopter and seven off-road vehicles. Two enemies have been captured, and the rest have been eliminated."
Young Marshal?
Wan Liang choked on his words! He stared at Cheng Yuan in utter disbelief! His entire worldview had been utterly shattered!
'Brother Yuan really is their superior officer!'
And to be called a "Marshal," even if just a "Young Marshal," meant he was an incredibly powerful figure!
'So Brother Yuan was the real hidden big shot all along!'
Remembering how he had tried to act tough in front of Brother Yuan in the beginning, Wan Liang wished he could find a hole to crawl into and hide!
The others were just as stunned, looking at Cheng Yuan with eyes full of pure adoration!
Only He Jing remained perfectly calm. After all, given that her father was He Hongting, it was only natural for her to know Cheng Yuan's background.
Wang Yan and Zhang Nana were completely stunned!
They finally understood why He Jing gave Wan Liang the cold shoulder but was so warm toward Cheng Yuan!
'Brother Yuan is a Young Marshal!'
'How could Wan Liang possibly compare to Brother Yuan?'
Brother Yuan was so brilliant it was intimidating!
It even made them feel a little insecure!
'A man so brilliant he practically glows... we're not good enough for him!'
Unaware of the profound shock he had just dealt Wan Liang and the others, Cheng Yuan returned a less-than-standard military salute and offered a simple word of praise, "Well done."
Upon receiving praise from the Young Marshal, Pei Jian looked as if he had just swallowed a Ten-Complete Great Replenishing Pill, his face flushing red with excitement!
"It is our honor to serve you, Young Marshal!"
"Bring Chen Ping and the other leader to me. I'll interrogate them myself."
"Yes, sir!"
Soon, Chen Ping and Cha Meng were brought over.
THUD!
The Warriors forced the two men to kneel before Cheng Yuan.
Cheng Yuan looked down at Chen Ping and said coolly, "Chen Ping, I gave you a chance to live. It's a shame you didn't take it."
Chen Ping, to his credit, was tough. He didn't beg for mercy, but instead craned his neck defiantly. "So your name is Cheng. I admit defeat! Cut the hypocritical act and spare me the bullshit. If you're going to kill me, just do it!"
Cheng Yuan said calmly, "Oh, I'll kill you, don't you worry. But before that, I need to get some information from you about the industrial park."
"In your dreams!"
Beside him, Cha Meng suddenly cried out, "Officer, you can't kill me! If you do, all the Dragon Country people in the industrial park will die!!"
Everyone's expression soured. Cha Meng was despicable, using innocent lives as a bargaining chip!
But Cheng Yuan ignored him, delivering a backhanded slap that knocked out half of Cha Meng's teeth.
"Are you telling me what to do?"
Cha Meng was knocked senseless. It took him a long moment to recover, and when he did, he stared at Cheng Yuan in terror.
'Dragon Country's Warriors are always so disciplined and humane... why doesn't this guy follow the rules at all?'
Cha Meng's last hopes were dashed. Clinging to a final thread of hope, he asked, "Officer, I can tell you about the industrial park. I'll tell you everything I know. Can you spare my life?"
"Let's hear what you have to say."
Like beans spilling from a sack, Cha Meng told Cheng Yuan everything he knew about the industrial park.
The more everyone listened, the darker their expressions became.
So many of their countrymen had been tricked into going to the industrial park, where they lived a life of Purgatory!
Cheng Yuan clenched his fists, secretly vowing that one day, he would lead the warriors of the Dragon Flame to raze the so-called industrial park to the ground!
And he would bring every last one of his countrymen home!!
Cha Meng glanced cautiously at Cheng Yuan. "Officer, I've told you everything I know, both what I should and shouldn't have. Can you let me go now?"
Cheng Yuan grinned and pointed fifty meters away, toward a pack of wolves that had been drawn by the scent of blood.
"Of course," Cheng Yuan said. "Pei Jian, let him go!"
