Chapter 397: Why Run?
Outside the wooden cabin.
Wan Liang, to his credit, showed some loyalty. He hadn’t fled on his own. Instead, while the black bear was attacking the cabin, he had scrambled onto the roof of the men’s cabin.
Hearing the girls’ shouts, Wan Liang quickly turned to look. Seeing the black bear stuck in the cabin doorway, his eyes lit up. Without hesitation, he nocked an arrow and fired!

The sharp arrow struck the black bear squarely in the back!

The cabin shook violently, on the verge of being pushed over by the black bear at any moment!
Cheng Yuan slowly walked out of his cabin, watching the black bear with great interest. He planned to wait for the bear to tire itself out a bit more; hunting it then would be much easier.
Wan Liang had run out of arrows. "Xiang Fei! Luo Hou! Chen Ping! Help me!" he roared.
Xiang Fei and Luo Hou were out of Crossbow Arrows. How could they dare to provoke a crazed black bear?
Chen Ping, on the other hand, did have Crossbow Arrows, but for some reason, he didn’t make a move.
Was he afraid of the frenzied bear turning its hatred on him?
Or was it because he harbored a grudge for being ostracized by Wan Liang and the others?
Chen Ping stood behind a cabin window, his expression cold as he watched the black bear attack the building.
Wan Liang was about to go insane with rage. He shouted, "I shot that bear to save you! And now you’re not going to help me? You’re a bunch of ungrateful bastards!!"
Xiang Fei and Luo Hou lowered their heads in shame. Wan Liang had indeed fired those arrows to save them. If they didn’t go out to help, how were they any different from ungrateful bastards?

Xiang Fei was so scared he even dropped his Hunting Blade!
