The Being Who Existed Before the Omniverse

Chapter 4: The Hunt That Awakened Hell

Ten years had passed since the war against the demons.

For the first time in generations, humanity no longer lived in fear.

Fields stretched across the plains where battlefields once stood Villagers cultivated powerful medicinal herbs capable of closing wounds within moments, restoring exhausted bodies, or enhancing physical strength far beyond ordinary limits Salt was mined from the mountains, oils extracted from seeds, and spices gathered from distant forests Meals once eaten raw over desperate campfires became rich with flavor and warmth.

Humanity had finally begun to live instead of merely survive.

Small wooden settlements gradually transformed into fortified stone villages Roads were carved through forests Watchtowers rose beside rivers Trade flourished between tribes that had once been enemies.

At the center of this new era stood Ragnar Vael.

The warrior who had united humanity during the Great Demon War now ruled as the leader of the united tribes Beside him stood his most trusted companion, Eldric Vane, whose wisdom and military brilliance had become legendary among men.

Together, they oversaw the construction of a colossal fortress meant to symbolize humanity’s new age.

But peace never lasted forever.

Far beyond the northern frostlands, within the ruins of the demon territories, starvation slowly consumed demonkind.

For ten years, not a single human had crossed into their domain.

Their bodies weakened.

Their instincts decayed.

Their once-overwhelming strength faded with every passing winter.

And hunger drove them mad.

Deep within the frozen caverns of the north, Demon Chief Voragath knelt before the towering figure of Demon General Kajkha.

The giant demon sat upon a throne built from blackened bones, his crimson eyes glowing within the darkness.

"General Kajkha," Voragath said carefully, "if we consume humans again... our strength will return."

Silence lingered.

Then Kajkha slowly smiled.

A cruel smile.

"You are correct."

His voice echoed through the cavern like distant thunder.

"If we feed again... humanity will kneel once more."

He rose from his throne and lifted his massive weapon.

"For the survival of demonkind," Kajkha roared, "hunt them."

The cavern erupted with monstrous laughter and savage howls.

"We will feast again!"

Meanwhile, far from the frozen wastelands, a human hunting party moved through the southern forests.

Their leader, Kael Draven, walked at the front with relaxed confidence.

Beside him were Ryven Holt, Darius Fen, and Luthor Cain - warriors born after the war, raised during humanity’s rise.

Kael laughed while adjusting the bow on his shoulder.

"If we bring back a large deer today, Ragnar’s men promised us a bottle of river liquor."

Ryven smirked.

"Then stop talking and start hunting I’ve been thinking about that liquor since morning."

The group burst into laughter as they moved deeper into the forest.

None of them noticed the eyes watching from the snow-covered trees.

Then suddenly-

Luthor froze.

"There."

He pointed toward the distant brush.

A massive deer stood between the trees.

Kael immediately raised his hand.

"Positions."

The hunters silently drew their bows.

"Three..."

The forest became still.

"Two..."

The arrows trembled against tightened strings.

"One."

TWANG.

The arrows pierced the deer almost simultaneously.

The beast collapsed instantly.

Kael grinned.

"Perfect shot."

He turned toward the others.

"Ryven, Darius, Carry it bac-"

His voice stopped.

Something warm splashed across Ryven’s face.

For a brief second, nobody understood what had happened.

Then Kael Draven’s body collapsed headlessly onto the snow.

Blood spread across the white ground in violent streaks.

Silence consumed the forest.

Five figures slowly emerged from the frost-covered trees.

Demons.

At their front stood Zarvok.

His pale eyes scanned the humans without emotion.

"Do not let any escape," he ordered coldly. "The General wants them alive."

The demons lunged forward.

But instead of fear-

The humans exploded with rage.

Ryven Holt’s eyes turned bloodshot as he stared at Kael’s corpse.

"You bastards..."

His voice trembled with fury.

"You killed him."

He gripped his weapon so tightly his knuckles cracked.

"Rip them apart!"

The hunters charged.

And for the first time in years-

The demons realized something horrifying.

Humans had changed.

The clash that followed became absolute chaos.

Steel tore through flesh.

Bones shattered beneath overwhelming force.

The hunters moved with terrifying precision, their bodies strengthened by years of training, herbs, and constant survival.

One demon fell.

Then another.

Then another.

The snow turned black with blood.

More than fifty demons died within minutes.

Zarvok staggered backward in disbelief.

"How...?"

Fear appeared in his eyes for the first time.

"How are humans this strong now...?"

The remaining demons were being slaughtered.

If this continued, he would die.

Desperate, Zarvok reached beneath his cloak and pulled out a dark crimson jewel.

The Blood Eclipse Jewel.

A forbidden relic pulsing with violent energy.

His hand trembled.

"If I don’t use this..."

He looked at the advancing humans.

"...I die."

Without hesitation, Zarvok crushed the jewel.

The world screamed.

A crimson wave erupted outward like a storm of death.

The forest shook violently.

Trees splintered.

Snow vaporized instantly.

The hunters screamed as the energy tore through their bodies from within.

One by one, they collapsed.

Silence followed.

Only the sound of burning flesh and drifting snow remained.

Darius Fen lay barely alive among the corpses, blood pouring from his mouth.

His hatred-filled eyes locked onto Zarvok.

"You coward..."

He coughed violently.

"You couldn’t defeat us... so you relied on that thing..."

Zarvok laughed weakly.

"Honor means nothing to the dead."

Then-

The atmosphere changed.

A monstrous pressure descended upon the battlefield.

Every surviving demon immediately dropped to their knees.

Kajkha had arrived.

The Demon General slowly walked through the corpses, his presence alone suffocating the air around him.

His crimson eyes scanned the battlefield.

Then his gaze settled on Zarvok.

"I ordered you," Kajkha said quietly, "to capture them alive."

Zarvok immediately panicked.

"General Kajkha, they were too strong! If I hadn’t used the jewel, they would’ve killed me!"

Kajkha stared at him in silence.

Then he spoke.

"And who gave you permission to think your life mattered?"

The pressure exploding from Kajkha’s body crushed the ground itself.

Zarvok screamed as invisible force shattered his limbs one after another.

Bones twisted unnaturally.

His body collapsed into the snow.

Kajkha stepped forward calmly and ended his suffering without hesitation.

Then he turned toward Kael Draven’s corpse.

Without disgust or emotion, Kajkha consumed the fallen hunter and absorbed his remaining vitality.

Dark energy surged around him.

His aura became even heavier.

The surrounding demons trembled in worship.

Kajkha pointed toward the human corpses.

"Feed."

The starving demons immediately descended upon the battlefield.

Kajkha raised his weapon toward the darkened sky.

"In three days," he declared, "we march on the human settlement beside the river."

Hatred burned within his eyes.

"Humanity has forgotten fear."

A cold smile spread across his face.

"We will remind them."

The demons roared together beneath the frozen sky.

And once again-

War began.
