The Boys: Viltrumite Evolution Panel

Chapter 169 Getting Tifa out

Caitlin Snow’s main personality regained control of her body.

She rubbed her temples in confusion. In her fragmented memories, she only recalled drinking with Lucas at a tavern last night, then blacking out, dragging him back to her apartment, and getting into bed...

Thinking of those absurd actions last night, Caitlin Snow’s pretty face flushed so red it looked like it would bleed; she couldn’t face anyone.

She panicked slightly, wanting to get up and find an excuse to escape into the bathroom.

However, to her surprise, despite how crazy things got last night, not only was there no soreness or discomfort in her body, but a warm vitality was flowing within her.

"Cough, cough!"

Lucas coughed. Caitlin Snow bit her lip shyly, pulled the covers over herself, and scurried into the bathroom as if fleeing.

Around noon, Lucas and Caitlin Snow finally returned to S.T.A.R. Labs.

Caitlin Snow pretended to run into Lucas by coincidence.

"You know I was the one who brought you over, right!" Lucas said.

Caitlin Snow felt awkward, "Cough, cough, can we... not tell everyone yet?"

"Sure, but I don’t think everyone is stupid."

Sure enough, Cisco Ramon, holding a cup of coffee, scanned them back and forth with shifty eyes, his face full of gossipy, mischievous smiles.

"Oh! You two... did you spend a wonderful night together? Let me guess, last night, a certain cold and aloof female medical doctor and a certain mysterious gamer seemed to leave the celebration party halfway through!"

Caitlin Snow’s ears turned slightly red, and she gave a huff that only drew more attention to herself.

Then, she walked straight to her lab bench, pretending to be immersed in work.

"Busy all night, I’m a bit hungry. I’ll go buy something to eat!" Lucas turned and left.

Cisco Ramon caught up, nudging Lucas’s arm with a mischievous smile, "Impressive! Bro, how long have you been here, and you’ve already taken down our great beauty! Did you have a pretty good time last night?"

Lucas put his hands in his pockets: "Bro, this is called good modeling! But are you sure Caitlin Snow wasn’t affected by the particle accelerator? She’s a rare dual-soul ability user!"

Cisco Ramon: "..."

He was originally happily gossiping, but it turned out the gossip was about his own team.

"Wait... wait! Lucas, what did you just say? What do you mean by dual personality?!"

Lucas turned back, "Literal meaning. This morning, a sub-personality awakened inside Caitlin Snow. Honestly, the experience was quite novel."

"On the surface, she’s a rigorous and reserved high- Education elite, but the sub-personality behind the scenes is actually a rough, icy woman, full of wildness, and a total tsundere—the vibe is just too strong!"

Snap!

Cisco Ramon’s brain felt like it had been struck by lightning in an instant, and his face turned deathly pale: "Oh, God! Are you talking about... Killer Frost? She’s really fully awakened!"

"Oh, God! Is Caitlin Snow really going to follow the path of Earth-2?"

That shouldn’t be the case.

Lucas thought about Killer Frost’s state today; she wouldn’t become a major threat.

"Alright, Cisco Ramon, don’t make a fuss, it’s not a big deal! Leave Killer Frost to me; she won’t affect Caitlin Snow’s main personality. But we need to find an opportunity to tell Caitlin Snow about this."

Cisco Ramon exclaimed, "Don’t you dare tell her!"

"Caitlin Snow has always been afraid of this. Let’s wait first, wait until she notices it a bit herself before we tell her!"

Lucas looked speechless, "When she notices it herself, do you think, given her personality, she’ll kick me out? Concealment isn’t something friends should do!"

The Flash team shouldn’t leave themselves with communication pitfalls.

If there’s a problem, discover it early, bring it up, and solve it early—isn’t that it?

If you drag it out, it slowly becomes a big deal.

"That makes sense too! You haven’t told me anything about Killer Frost today, and I know nothing about it, okay?" Cisco Ramon backed out instantly; he shouldn’t have gotten involved in this.

"Hey! Isn’t brotherhood supposed to be in the heart?"

Cisco Ramon patted his chest, "Brotherhood is in the heart, but you handle your own problems!"

Lucas slapped his forehead, "Cisco Ramon, don’t be in such a rush to leave. How is your brother doing lately?"

Cisco Ramon was confused by the question, "My brother? He’s doing great, of course. Although we don’t really get along, he called me a few days ago to brag that the family bought him another car... Why are you asking about my brother? Does this have anything to do with Killer Frost?"

"Not really, just tell your brother to drive less lately!"

As soon as Lucas finished speaking, he looked up at the sky a few times.

The Speed Force didn’t react.

From Caitlin Snow’s Killer Frost to Cisco Ramon’s brother, the Speed Force actually had no reaction at all?

According to the Flashpoint event script, Cisco Ramon’s brother would die in a car accident, Caitlin Snow would become Killer Frost, and all the Meta-humans within Flashpoint would all re-emerge in this world.

There was even Savitar.

He had already changed one thing, and now he was going to change a second, but the Speed Force just wouldn’t react.

There is definitely something wrong with this world.

The System deliberately stalled for six months to a year, keeping him at the transit station; could it have other ideas?

Lucas felt it was getting more and more bizarre.

Thinking back to the chaotic shadow of the Speed Force he saw earlier...

There’s a problem! Definitely a problem!

"Lucas? Is the personality in your brain still there?" Cisco Ramon saw Lucas zoning out and waved his hand quickly, "Hey! Say something! I need to find a reason so my brother won’t show off his sports car lately!"

Lucas came back to his senses and stood further away, "Uh, about that... I’m doing a small experiment. You’ll be fine, trust me!"

Cisco Ramon looked confused.

But he saw Lucas was ready to run at any moment.

"Well, my eyes can see very far. Your forehead is dark lately, specifically indicating potential misfortune for a relative. The divination shows a clash of metal and fire. Thinking of the sports car, I’m guessing it’s a car accident!"

As the words fell... nothing happened...

The Speed Force still didn’t react.

"Car accident?" Cisco Ramon expressed doubt, "You have precognition?"

"Sort of."

"What do you mean by ’sort of’?"

Cisco Ramon was a bit excited, "Good brother, tell me honestly, will my brother really be in trouble soon?"

"Uh, you have Vibe powers yourself. Can’t you just vibe and find out?"

Cisco Ramon realized this, dashed out in a hurry, probably to find some relic of his brother’s.

Lucas stood there, waiting for a long time.

Still nothing happened.

"Hey!"

"I thought the will of this world would be very strict, but it turns out it’s quite lenient!"

"System, and you were so nervous before."

As soon as he finished speaking.

A wormhole appeared at Lucas’s location, swallowing him whole.

Caitlin Snow happened to walk over, intending to ask Lucas about some matters regarding Temporary No. 5, only to see Lucas swallowed up on the spot.

"No!!!"

Caitlin Snow let out a scream.

...

"Damn it!"

"Don’t do this!"

"I admit I spoke too loudly just now, and I’m a noob who loves to play, but I’ve long respected the Speed Force. Please let me go!"

Lucas called out to the System.

The System didn’t respond at all.

"Calm down, Traveler!"

A chaotic shadow appeared in the air, but its appearance was unclear.

A will emanated from within it, and a hint of goodwill could be felt.

"If we had any malice towards you, you would have been forcibly expelled back when you were fighting Zoom."

Lucas stood stunned, looking around.

He discovered he was floating in the center of a Speed Force storm, surrounded by uninhabited nothingness.

"Bro, you’re not exactly being sincere, talking to someone in this kind of setting!" Lucas said.

If he were to fall out of the Speed Force, he would immediately be transported to the depths of space and might have to fly for a good few years to get back to Earth.

"Sorry! But there is a strong wall in your mind, which is rare in the world. We cannot manifest people or scenes you are familiar with to communicate, so we can only use this method. Please forgive us!"

"That’s easy to fix. Just give me a bedroom, and then bring out Tifa or Iris West, and we can have a good chat!"
