"Wait here."

"W-wait!" Cate chased after him for a few steps. "Farid is still down there. His ability is geological manipulation; the entire bunker is his weapon..."

"Don’t forget that I’m the one who brought you here for this mission. I already know exactly what the enemy is capable of."

"Then why are you going down alone?"

Lucas looked back at her with an expression that seemed to say, "Are you kidding me?"

"Just wait here. Daddy is going down to take care of some business and will be back to pick you up in a bit."

After saying that, he kicked off the ground and plummeted deeper into the depths.

His figure instantly vanished into the darkness.

Cate and Jordan stood where they were.

"He seems to think we’re a bit of a hindrance," Cate said.

On their first day on the job, they had already messed up big time for their boss.

"We really are a bit weak," Jordan said, sitting down against the wall and clutching their abdomen.

In his male form, Jordan had several tons of strength, but hitting that bald guy felt like tickling him, whereas Guardian had instantly thrown the guy into space.

"This gap!" Jordan closed their eyes.

Cate shook her head. "Don’t think about it. You’ll get depressed if you think about it too much."

...

150 meters underground.

Lucas penetrated through several layers of rock walls and arrived at the deepest part of the shelter.

This place was located beneath a massive domed space, thirty meters high and at least several hundred meters wide, resembling a natural underground cathedral.

The surrounding rock walls were as smooth as mirrors, covered everywhere with traces of having been polished by that Supe.

In the center of the space, a person stood there.

Behind him stood a towering statue of a deity, one hand supporting the sky, the other held horizontally across the chest.

Farid, forty-one years old, wore a dusty yellow robe, his face full of weathered traces.

Beneath his feet, the ground was slightly writhing. Looking closely, it seemed his feet were hovering above the gravel, not actually touching the ground.

"Are you from Vought?"

Farid stood with his hands behind his back, exuding an air of self-importance.

He was quite the showman.

"Twenty years," Farid said, his voice carrying a hint of a curry accent.

"Farid, codename Sandstorm, a 2003 Supe with the ability of geological manipulation. Come to think of it, you’re an old-timer," Lucas said. "Since nobody was bothering you, why did you suddenly pop up and make everyone unhappy?"

Farid replied, "For justice."

Lucas pulled a few photos from his pocket and threw them on the ground. They were all civilians who had been caught in the crossfire.

"Is this your justice? In what country is justice defined by slaughtering civilians and carrying out terrorist attacks?"

Farid said, "For the ideal, these are merely necessary sacrifices. In the world created by Allah, they have already been freed from suffering and will live on happily."

"Guardian, I know you. America’s symbol of justice. You should know that sometimes, for the sake of justice, we must sacrifice some things."

Lucas tilted his head.

Times have really changed; even terrorists are talking to me about justice.

Wait, no. I’m not in the Rabbit’s position right now; I’m guest-starring as the Eagle.

"Let’s stop with the lip service. I need to take your head back to finish the job. By the way, next time, can you fix your sewage system? It’s quite layered in its stench." Lucas brushed the dust off his body.

In reality, there was no dust; his Bio-field had isolated the dirt, but the smell was truly unbearable.

"Then you should also know that on my turf, no one can defeat me."

Farid raised one hand.

The entire domed space began to shake.

The surrounding rock walls, ground, and ceiling—all the rocks came to life simultaneously.

Countless rock spikes grew out from all directions, dense and packed, like a giant beast opening a mouth full of teeth.

These spikes were all aimed at Lucas.

"Over the past twenty years," Farid’s voice came from all directions, as if the rock walls themselves were speaking.

"The American military has come three times, each time with special forces and air support."

"They all died."

"How much stronger do you think you are than them, all by yourself?"

Lucas counted the spikes on the walls; there were probably several thousand of them, each as thick as an arm, with tips as sharp as spears.

If they were all fired, any living creature in this space would be instantly shredded into a sieve.

Clap, clap, clap!

"Impressive, truly spectacular. You remind me of a manga character. Have you seen One Piece?" Lucas praised sincerely.

He really hadn’t expected that in reality, there was an ability user like Crocodile who could control deserts. This ability would probably be rated Level 4 at the X-Mansion.

Farid did not hesitate. He thrust his hands forward, and thousands of rock spikes shot out simultaneously.

The speed was too fast for anyone to react.

Combined with the fact that they were coming from all directions, it sealed off every angle; not even a fly could escape.

He knew the person before him was tricky, having been able to take out three of his Supe subordinates in just one minute. His strength was considered high-tier even at Vought.

But he had mobilized the rock layers of the entire underground city, turning everything within a five-hundred-meter radius into a weapon.

It was impossible to lose!

...

Vought Tower.

In the live broadcast, the cameraman’s lens was aimed at that two-hundred-meter-wide crater.

A rumbling, thunder-like vibration sound came from underground.

The entire desert was trembling slightly.

"Ladies and gentlemen! It seems a fierce battle is taking place underground!"

The reporter regained their composure.

"Guardian has gone deep underground to engage the terrorist Farid! We can feel the vibrations beneath our feet..."

The pilot cooperated by making the helicopter shake violently.

"...Extremely violent vibrations! This shows that the scale of the battle is beyond imagination!"

Edgar watched the screen, expressionless.

Lucas’s strength exceeded his imagination. He had originally thought he was just on par with Homelander, but now, perhaps even Homelander...

All Homelander was thinking about was, if it were him instead, how high would his popularity be right now?

...

150 meters underground.

Thousands of rock spikes crashed toward Lucas from all directions.

The corners of Farid’s mouth curled upward.

Wouldn’t this blow you into a bloody mist?

Lucas stood still, even yawning.

"I want to eat Zha Jiang Mian tonight. I don’t know where to buy it in America. Tomato pasta is just too terrible."

He thought to himself.

Those spikes crashed into his body and, just like thin chocolate sticks, shattered completely.

All the rock spikes that came into contact with Lucas’s body couldn’t even touch his physical form; they just hit the Bio-field on his surface and were instantly pulverized.

What makes a Viltrumite truly powerful is their physical body.

But now, there was someone who couldn’t even tear his clothes, yet claimed they were going to kill him.

What an arrogant, cringe-worthy man!

Can anyone relate, guys!

The spikes turned into powder and fell down with a rustling sound.

Farid’s expression shifted from calm to shock, and then from shock to disbelief—a whole pie chart of emotions.

"No... impossible..."
