Cate Dunlap was also knocked to the ground by the speed-type Supe, but the opponent held back, clearly intending to leave a survivor.

The surface.

Lucas was still lying on that rock, his cape covering his face.

The reporter in the helicopter had been broadcasting for forty minutes.

"Uh... Guardian is currently still... charging up..."

"We can see his cape fluttering in the wind, which indicates that his energy field is... uh... resonating with the natural world..."

The reporter couldn’t make anything else up; this was harder to endure than writing essays back in the day.

Vought Tower.

Edgar watched the live feed with a blank expression.

Starlight made an excuse to go to the bathroom, but actually slipped away to call Guardian.

Suddenly.

Lucas’s snoring stopped.

"Jordan’s strength still has room for development, and Cate Dunlap is still too weak; she can only be trained for logistics." Lucas opened his eyes; he had been listening to the movements in the bunker the entire time.

The performance of both Cate Dunlap and Jordan could not escape his perception.

However, Supe abilities could grow; both Cate Dunlap and Jordan were still students and hadn’t reached their peak, so it was possible for them to improve their abilities like Starlight did later on.

If Cate Dunlap could awaken long-range telepathy and Mind Control, then her potential would be limitless.

He stood up and brushed the sand off his butt.

The reporter in the helicopter perked up.

"He moved! Guardian moved! He stood up!"

"After forty-three minutes of charging, Guardian is finally about to make a move!"

"Let’s see what kind of..."

Lucas raised his right foot and then stomped down.

It was just an ordinary stomp.

As casual as stepping on an ant.

But the moment this foot landed, the surface within a two-hundred-meter radius collapsed simultaneously.

Rumble, rumble...

Dust filled the sky.

The helicopter was shaken violently by the Shockwave, and the cameraman almost dropped his camera.

"Fuck Guardian!!!"

The reporter screamed while clutching the safety rope, having lost his previous composure.

Once the dust settled slightly, the cameraman stabilized the image again, and an incredible sight appeared before him.

A huge crater had appeared on the ground, over two hundred meters in diameter, and the depth... could not be seen.

And Lucas stood at the edge of the crater, looking down.

His X-ray vision had already locked onto everyone’s location.

"Alright then."

Lucas jumped down.

He didn’t use his flight ability, relying purely on freefall.

He even actively accelerated the process.

Zero point four seconds later, Guardian arrived fifty meters underground.

Jordan was being pressed to the ground by the giant, and the speed-type Supe was preparing to knock Cate Dunlap unconscious.

At this very moment, everything around them went still.

Like a ghost, Lucas floated lightly behind the three Supes.

Then time returned to normal.

The fire-type felt the wind pressure behind him and instinctively turned his head...

He only saw an unremarkable hand, five fingers pressed together, with the edge of the palm facing his neck.

Viltrumite hand blade!

The speed didn’t look fast at all.

I can dodge that with a simple lean.

"Haha, trying to sneak attack!"

The Supe thought his body had dodged the blow.

But in a slowed state, he saw his own body... half of his body, standing in place.

The cut was clean, and the blood hadn’t even sprayed out yet.

Sss!

A soft sound reached his ears.

Like the sound of cutting tofu.

Like cutting through a piece of tofu.

"When... did this happen?"

The fire-type Supe’s eyes were still open, and his mouth could even speak, but the flames on his fingers were slowly extinguishing.

The bald giant was stunned.

He looked at his companion’s head rolling to his feet, his mind blank.

"Who is this guy? He looks familiar!"

Lucas’s X-ray vision analyzed the giant’s physical abilities.

"Hardened skin?"

The giant swung his fist, but Lucas stood where he was, not bothering to dodge.

Boom—

The fist smashed into his body, and the resulting Shockwave spread outward.

"The air underground smells like shit, shall we go outside and play for a bit?"

Lucas seemed to be asking a question, but he wasn’t actually seeking the other party’s opinion.

He grabbed the giant’s head with one hand and flew straight up.

He gouged a hole out of the bunker.

Outside.

The reporter and cameraman were filming the big crater, marveling at the destructive power of the Viltrumite stomp.

Suddenly, a loud noise came from behind them.

Everyone turned to look and saw a streak of light shoot into the sky, quickly disappearing outside the atmosphere.

Lucas was carrying the giant, flying to the edge of the atmosphere.

Just one step away from outer space.

"Come to think of it, I haven’t been to outer space to play yet; look, that looks like the moon."

The giant’s face turned beet red.

Frost had already formed on his body; his defense was resisting the erosion of the low temperature.

But the deadly cosmic rays and the vacuum environment were extremely fatal blows to any Supe.

The giant’s eyes were bloodshot and swollen, and blood was seeping from his ears.

But as soon as this blood floated out, it froze in mid-air.

"It seems you don’t really like playing outside, so let’s head back."

Lucas grabbed the giant and slammed him toward Earth at full speed.

This move is called—the Earth-Throw!

At Mach 30, the surrounding air rubbed against them, quickly forming a high-temperature, high-pressure environment like a meteorite landing. The giant’s defense was indeed strong; he managed to endure for over ten seconds before melting into ash.

Lucas flew back to the crater.

The speed-type Supe wanted to run, but he broke through the surface and landed directly in front of the Supe.

"Brother, with your ability, you should go deliver takeout; earning ten thousand dollars a day wouldn’t be a dream. Why become a terrorist?"

"Is it to realize a childhood dream?"

"That won’t do. Landing in the hands of the partners of justice means you have to undergo embedded therapy."

Lucas shook his finger.

The speed-type Supe’s whole body emitted an extremely high vibration frequency; he wanted to use his fastest speed to get past Lucas and escape.

This move had always worked in the past; even Farid could only catch him by using the terrain.

Lucas raised his palm high, signaling the other party to go ahead and dash.

Whoosh!

That Supe was indeed fast.

In Lucas’s eyes, it was probably a little bit faster than a snail.

The heel of his palm fell.

Cutting from the head to the crotch.

With that, the three Supes who had made Cate Dunlap and Jordan struggle bitterly were taken care of by Guardian in less than a minute.

The two women stood there, their mouths wide enough to fit an egg.

"What about... the man whose skin was as hard as a giant corpse?" Jordan asked, looking shocked.

He had just been knocked down by the giant with one punch.

Even his defense in his male form couldn’t last three seconds.

And yet Lucas grabbed the bald guy’s head and flew off.

Guardian should have had a hard time breaking through the opponent’s defense, right?

"Him?" Lucas scratched his head. "...His defense was pretty average. I thought I could make a wish on a shooting star, but I didn’t expect him to melt into ash in mid-air."

Melt... melted into ash?

What does that mean?

Neither Cate Dunlap nor Jordan understood what Lucas meant.

"Hmm, we just took a trip to space; the environment there was super beautiful, but that guy seemed a bit closed off and didn’t really like my gift, so I let him come back by himself."

That really was melted into ash.
